This facility is by far one of the most outstanding facilities in thw care of children I have had the honor of visiting. Being a foster parent is a tremendous opportunity and has both its upside and downside. I would encourage anyonw thinking abiut it to volunteer or strive for a foster license. Children need your help!

What an incredible organization. Toured the facility and everything is well laid out, clean and organized for the children. The kids all appeared very happy and enthusiastic. I'm very happy donating to Jonathan's Place.

Let's remember it is always about the children and not about favoritism of staff. When you hire individuals with great experience, please listen and work with them, not judge them and try to make them appear as if something is wrong with them, just because they can educate you more. Team work is important. I really wanted to work there, because I believe in the values of the programing for children. But I noticed leadership will not change. So I had a decision to make, and left.

Foster Care and Adoption

Foster Care and Adoption
I wish I read the previous reviews before. This place isn't worth the time to apply. There is no support for the workers. I got treated unfairly because I wouldn't talk to my employees in a nasty way. I went to the CEO which was worse! It didn't help at all. You can't close your door to your office because they want to hear everything that is going on. The Director wants to be involved in everything that is going on and makes herself overwhelmed because she can't get her own work completed. JP really needs to work on employee success. They have a high turn over and will continue until they make changes starting from the CEO down. I am very disappointed. Then I was told I was being too nice and taking too much time with prospective foster parents. I really could not believe that. I should have done my research on this agency before I accepted the position. AT any rate, if they make changes, it could really be a awesome company. No one stays to work there long. The house parent was replaced and was told just don t fit in.

About Jonathan’s Place Dallas

Jonathan’s Place Dallas is a non-profit organization that provides a safe and loving home to children who have been victims of abuse, abandonment or neglect. The organization was founded in 1991 by Allicia Graham Frye, who was inspired to create a place where children could feel safe and loved after witnessing the tragic death of her friend's child due to abuse.

The mission of Jonathan’s Place is to provide a safe haven for children in crisis, offering them hope and healing through specialized services that address their unique needs. The organization offers three main programs: emergency shelter, foster care and adoption services, and transitional living.

The emergency shelter program provides temporary housing for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Children are provided with food, clothing, medical care, counseling services and educational support during their stay at the shelter. The goal of this program is to provide a stable environment for these children while they await placement in foster care or reunification with their families.

The foster care and adoption services program provides permanent homes for children who are unable to return home due to safety concerns. Jonathan’s Place works closely with families interested in becoming foster parents or adopting a child from the Texas Child Protective Services system. They offer training classes, support groups and ongoing assistance throughout the process.

The transitional living program helps young adults who have aged out of the foster care system transition into independent living. Participants receive life skills training such as budgeting, job readiness skills and education assistance as they work towards self-sufficiency.

Jonathan’s Place relies heavily on community support through donations of time, money or resources such as clothing or household items. Volunteers play an important role in providing emotional support for the children staying at the shelter by organizing activities such as game nights or movie nights.

In addition to its core programs, Jonathan’s Place also offers specialized services such as therapy sessions for both residents at its emergency shelter facility as well as those residing outside it but still require help dealing with trauma caused by abuse/neglect experiences; legal advocacy which includes representation during court proceedings related specifically towards child welfare cases; case management which involves coordinating various aspects related directly towards each individual's specific needs (such as medical appointments).

Overall Jonathan's place has become an integral part of Dallas' community since its inception over two decades ago - providing much-needed resources & support systems not only for those affected directly but also indirectly via outreach efforts aimed at educating others about issues surrounding child welfare & safety concerns within our society today!
