Excellent organization from electronic sign in to text notices when they are ready. Dr. Morse spent time to review x rays and check joint movement. He answered all questions and made the experience pleasant. JIS is well run; with highly competent personnel.
Dr Berend did anterior hip 2 yrs ago. It took 6 wks for site to close and have had constant soft tissue problems since. But it is ok. Am now 1 week post op from another orthopedic clinic where another approach was used leaving a little bit bigger wound. But I have not taken pain meds since my overnight surgical unit stay and I walked a mile today using a straight cane now and then. Wound is fully closed. Much happier this time around.

I'm very happy with all my experiences at JIS Dr Morris did both my hips and also my mothers hip. All surgeries excellent. Dr Hurst has been very wonderful also. Dr. Snook has been my doctor for 15 yr. He is awesome! I ve had 4 surgeries, 2 laminectomies and 2ventral cervical. Each issue was addressed and taken care of. I first visited JIS a few months ago for my knee and it wasn't a positive first impression as far as the physician I saw was concerned. I wasn't going to return, and when my knee required a return visit to an ortho doctor again recently I visited another facility. But, as circumstances would have it I was going to be traveling from Toledo to the Columbus area for an appointment with my son. So for convenience sake I called and explained how I felt the first time and could I possibly schedule with a different physician. The office staff were very kind and scheduled me with Dr. Berend at a time convenient for my schedule while in Columbus. Completely different experience! Dr. Berend was truly a wonderful recommendation. He was kind and thorough. He listened to what had been going on without making me feel rushed or like another number in a long line. He then offered a treatment plan that made sense and made me feel comfortable with what I needed to do to get well. So... Lesson learned. It's often good not to go on first impressions. Sometimes it's just a personality conflict kind of thing. I highly recommend JIS and Dr. Berend.

2 Visits with 2 different doctors at Joint Implant Surgeons for right knee pain after a partial knee replacement somewhere else. Niether Doctor actually looked at my knee. At the second visit, Dr. Hurst told me he was just a technician, and that sometimes replacements dont work and that I may just have to live with the pain.
I have been going for 9 years and have had excellent experiences. I have two patella replaced and a minimal invasive hip replacement. Dr Berend did my surgeries.

Highly recommended for your joint implant needs. JIS of New Albany was extremely professional. From admission and pre-op to surgery and post-op they covered all the bases from pain management to wound care to physical therapy reccommendations and options. I was thoroughly impressed with their professionalism, attention to details and their efforts to accommodate the patients needs. My personal hope is that I never have to have another joint replacement, but if I do, JIS of New Albany is where I will be. One week out from hip replacement, walking reasonably well without assistance and minimal pain.
I chose to drive 83 miles to meet with the doctors of JIS based on the recommendations of 2 patients who had 4 surgeries with JIS doctors. My boyfriend had his left knee done in November and is having his right one done in January 2016. Dr. Berend, his staff and all hospital personnel, from the nurses to the cleaning people were wonderful. I called Dr. Berend's office a few times and got help very promptly.

I was very reluctant to have surgery... just felt like there was another approach. I tried Cortisone shots, stem cell , the pain just got worse, nothing worked, I could not walk. Dr. Berend is amazing. The doctors in Lima told my husband he needed double knee replacements but wouldn t do the surgery for 7 years ( until he was over 50) and to take Tylenol for the pain. With his occupation, and his pain level were looking at having to go on a medical disability retirement. This would severely affect our lifestyle. We came to JIS and found out all my husband needed was knee cap replacements. Within 5 months both were replaced, physical therapy was completed and he is back at 100% at work WITHOUT PAIN!!!

Dr Lombardi is always professional. He replaced my husband s right knee in 2013......my husband had four knee replacements done prior to meeting Dr Lombardi...of all five total knee replacements this was the best. When my husband started having problems with his left knee.....two drs in Florida said they could not see anything wrong with his knee. I highly recommended JIS and Dr. Morris. I ve had both knees replaced Aug 19 and Jan 20. It has been one of the very best decisions I ve ever made! I felt very confident with Dr Morris. My knee problem came up suddenly - one day I could walk 3-4 miles and the next day my knee just gave out. Having a total knee replacement was far from my mind. As the spring/summer progressed, I had serious pain and couldn't put weight on my leg and spent much of my time in a wheelchair. Met with Dr. Jason Hurst at Joint Implant Surgeons to discuss options and as the summer passed, it was clear I needed total knee replacement. I did get a second opinion, but Dr. Hurst has absolutely the best credentials (which you can read on the JIS site) and he was quick to respond to the questions/concerns that I had. He is also a good listener.
I had the total knee replacement on August 26 at the New Albany location. Dr. Hurst and his team did an excellent job. Following surgery, I had a very nice private room at the facility and then returned home. On Monday I will be 8 weeks post op and I am doing well. I especially like that the upper layer of my incision was sealed with glue. I could shower a couple of days later. Plus, the incision is healing nicely and won't leave much of a scar. I have been getting Euflexxa Injections in both knees every 6 months for well over 5 years. They truly work for me in reducing pain from osteoarthritis since I cannot take NSAIDS. Chris Hoban, PA gave me all 3 series of injections over 3 weeks and is very good, I barely felt them. I've had them also given by Dr. Hurst and Dr. Crawford, they are all very good as well, I barely feel the injections. Highly recommend.
I saw Dr Morris because I am experiencing pain in my left knee and hip. He quickly confirmed that my knee was a candidate for a partial knee replacement but assured me that my hip was fine which was a relief. He seemed genuinely interested in getting me back to normal so I will be able to go gorilla trekking in Rwanda next year. I am looking forward to the surgery.

Dr berand did my first hip implant last year. I was shocked at how well it went. The recovery was easy and I truly can t say I had pain. Actually the only pain med I took was extra strength Tylenol for first couple of weeks when I needed it. I m getting ready to have other hip done with joint implant surgeons. I can t imagine going anywhere else. They have perfected the entire experience of having joint implants. I just feel so fortunate to live in this day and age where we have surgeons like Dr Berand and joint implant surgeons.

On Dec 4th 2018 he was able to remove a few old screws and give me a full knee replacement that I m very pleased with. Great bedside manner and wonderful man.
