I have been fortunate to not live in the area, so I hadn t had to go to this hospital.
I came with chest pain, shortness of breath, 170s/120s blood pressures and was left in the waiting room almost two hours.
My blood pressure was high the whole time I was there. They treated me like I didn t know my own body. I was mocked by two nurses. I had been stuck NINE times and they finally used an ultrasound to guide it. Which is what I asked for from the beginning because for some reason no one there can ever get it on the first try. I had asked every single person I was in contact with for Tylenol because when you have extreme blood pressures you get headaches, anyone in health care should know that. I was given two Tylenol about an hour before I left on my own.
I was given a nitroglycerin patch and not monitored AT ALL. No blood pressures, no ekgs, nothing hooked up. I called several times to try to get someone to remove the patch because it was making me nauseous and have a migraine. I was told my first ekg and second showed different things so they wanted to keep me to observe at least a night.
If my issues were so serious that I needed to be admitted to the hospital, why was I not checked on? Monitored at all? I pushed every button on the remote to try to get someone. No one responded for over an hour. I had to get someone to take me to the restroom because no one working would do it. I have a history of syncope and collapse that is well diagnosed. I was told not to try to walk around on my own. Yet, when I needed assistance to the restroom. No one ever came. I have a bladder condition that is well documented, so they should know someone cannot hold their urine for 6+ hours.
I went to another hospital after being treated terribly from ~1230-~7
The other hospital got my blood drawn and IV in, in one try. No ultrasound needed. They took me seriously, checked everything that needed to be checked. Gave me blood pressure medicine and got it all under control in less than two hours. They also treated my migraine. No questions asked. I didn t have to beg multiple people for Tylenol.
Super disappointed in my experience, but it s no different than any other time I ve been there.
