I have been here for 11 hours. No one cares at all. Sent to "fast track" I have been sitting here waiting for fast track for well over an hour. Take your money and insurance skewer else because they do not care.

The fancy Hopkins name and very good heart department give an air of credibility; but, the true rotten nature of this hospital is quickly revealed if you need emergency care. I have been waiting for 8 hours. Others around me have been waiting for 16 hours or more. No one cares. People are vomiting in the waiting room, no employee cares, they can get no relief. We can t even get a time for when we will be seen. Patients have now been awake for more than 24 hours. How is that for health? I can only hope that this review undermines the Hopkins name. If you have the choice, then go to urgent care during the day. If you are forced to go here because of a nighttime issue, a pillow is essential.
By far the worst hospital in Maryland to say the least. Came in for an appointment and got a sonogram on my leg to find out I have a blood clot. And having chest pain and shortest of breath and was in the waiting room for about 7 hours and did not make it to a room despite the pain I was in.
Very disappointed with the care at this hospital. Many of the staff I encountered were low IQ it seems. My 88 y o mother with some dementia was admitted because she has osteoporosis and broke a vertebrae because of it. Staff and doctors do not care if you get information. They will not call you back for over 24 hours. They have abysmal organization skills as one doctor or nurse do not know what the others are doing or planning. A doctor assured me that the discharge papers to a rehab center would be detailed. Once discharged, still in pain, there is no prescription or information about her pain meds. So rehab will not give her any. Discharge papers somehow said she was allergic to Tylenol so rehab doesn t even want to give her Tylenol when the hospital was initially giving her Tylenol. Trying to call the hospital this morning to get the meds straightened out. I ve been calling the main number for 2 hours now. You listen to a recording then it hangs up on you. Finally got through and the charge nurse said she had to hang up before I could tell her what was wrong because she had to go save a person s life . I feel sorry for that person. Probably not going to get the care she needs either. If you can avoid this hospital DO IT!
I was admitted for six (6) days. An awful and dirty experience. The nurses were exceptional. However, the care received and the condition the facility is kept is beyond ethically and below standard. It appears the reputation of good care and service has inflated the heads of the physicians and deflated care or the meaning of care. I am beyond unsatisfied and I hope the administration takes this review as the beginning of movement for change and betterment. The room had dirty equipment still in the room, a previous resident of the room, hair and toenail clippings on the floor, foreign biological (look like nose pickings) on the wall, shower curtain had foreign yellow squirt stains in it, very very slow reaction time, the floor was BLACK with buildup of dirt, window seal had not been wiped in forever. They really need some serious internal upgrades and changes within the management staff and supervisory personnel. I was very unimpressed and in fact disappointed. It saddens me to see such a reproable establishment so diminished.
They can do a solid job at making you feel stupid. It s a shame. Whoever the woman with the very blonde white almost hair who does the check ins in the Er, I understand the clientele you deal with, but how dare you let the words come out of your mouth. I m a veteran with serious problems life threatening and because of you ma am I would die in the parking lot than to be greeted by you ever again in my life, pictures to come. My father sits on the board at Hopkins I ll find your full name.oh I m case you don t remember me, you made a joke at my expense to the er techs that brought me in about me.
Our experience with this place is scary.. There seems to be no organization, the doctor had no real answers and did not seem to be intelligent at all. Twice we've been here and no one answers the phone on the second floor, the first time the security person sitting at the front desk didn't know there was a second floor. They tell you yes you can visitors then you get there and can't. horrible bedside manner no calls or updates from doctors. we have to keep calling them. Basically killing my mother. Trying get her out of here.
The John Hopkins pre op for surgery was amazing everyone read my chart about my special needs knew everything about me. Let my mom stay in pre op with me. The OR staff was amazing Dr Tis the bear went in surgery with me and we went on a trip.
Recovery was mess my nurse do not read any of my chart for my special needs and autism. He kept running in and out I ask for the lights off and when mom was coming he kept saying I will turn them of and she will be her in a few mins. Well the discharging nurse said I know your really out of it still I can help you get dressed go to bathroom. I was the only one getting rush in recovery. She called mom to come back I was in wheelchair When she came she advocated about lights off hot blankets and tynol.
When Dr Wildly came into recovery to tell me the findings and all that stuff I was crying . He ask why are you crying what s wrong I told him what happen. He could not believe any of this happen. Since it Cleary states my autism , and other special needs in chart from Hopkins. The discharging nurse was super understanding way more than the other nurse . She even stayed with me for mom could go down and get my pain meds before we left Bayview.
Unorganized system and incompetent employees ... it s ridiculous they can t find patients in their system. So don t even dream of a update unless your love one contacts you which is truly absurd seeing they can t reach you until they ve awaken from surgery... which just leaves you to worry ... not a single phone call to the emergency contact of course because they can t find the patient in the system lol and Security is RUDE and ABSOLUTELY NO HELP AT ALL
I just wanna say thank you to the team that got me taking care of. Yes waiting in the waiting room was a long wait but they told me they didn't have any beds ready so I understood that. The nurses I had was super nice and caring I appreciate you all the few days I was there.
