I would definitely keep this on your dive list! Everything is deep fried, which normally I love, but the Triple D burger was tasteless. The gizzards were awful, with a dried pack of ranch poured on the top. Would not go back again, the place was so dirty! It s too bad, because I had such great hopes for it!

Always good service at Joe's. Good bar food, really great selection of drinks--they offer new, trendy items (on a Friday night, they had 4 different kinds of Founder's bottles for $3.50), but have classic staples as well. We just discovered that Friday night is half off appetizer night, so that made our snack choice easy. Lots of the food is fried at Joe's (what they're known for), so you do need to keep that in mind going in, but it's the perfect local spot to stop if you are looking for a low-key, small town, hole-in-the-wall kind of vibe.

Really, when's the last time you had a gizzard? Would you believe it's closer to fried seafood than the weirdness you're probably picturing in your head? And Joe's cocktail sauce is the perfect pairing. If you don't want to be adventurous, their fried chicken, seafood, and burgers are totally good. You pick of you want your burger regular, fried patty, or fry the whole thing, bun included. Then move on to dessert - fried Oreos, nutter butters, Twinkies, mini donuts, elephant ears, s'mores, and chocolate chip cookie dough. I'll give you a hint: start with fish or a burger all the way; choose regular or waffle fries; and finish with a fried Twinkie. Then eat salad for the next few days...

The food here is excellent. I've never had gizzards until I went here and I was very pleasantly surprised. Even though the service was kinda meh it might have been the time and day we went but the food is the reason your going. I must say that the homemade pork rinds are on point and the best I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and go here and give it a taste.

'Dive bar' Definetly describes this inefficient, dirty, local watering hole. There is no effort wasted on cleanliness. We should have left as soon as we sat at a table with sticky menus and condiments. But we really wanted to believe the gizzards city hype. Soup was too salty to eat. Triple D burger not worth the novelty. Even half of DDD burger was a greasy gut bomb. Meat and topping ratio to bread is unpleasantly bread heavy. Our table never received 1/2 our order. Not enough staff for the size of the place. Nor was staff arranged in an effecient manner. Absolutely one of the worst eating out experiences in several years. Sorry I wasted the time.

Amazing dive bar. The "Triple D" is a work of art. Grab a beer, have a burger, maybe some gizzards, or a deep fried pickle or a deep fried twinkie. Always great service. I visit Potterville just to eat here.

I've never been to Joe's Gizzard City but if I ever happened to be in Potterville, MI it'll be the 1st place I stop. Gizzards have been a favorite of mine all my life. Saw Joe's Gizzard City on Triple D, my kind of place! Would really like to get some t shirts with the JGC logo. Please let me know if you have them.

No masks at all !!! Also food was terrible my husband felt like he was going to be sick. My mom was in the bathroom 2 times before we left very greasy gizzard where not good! I wouldn't recommend this place ever was one of the worst places we have ate at, not worth the drive. Also To the owners of this restaurant
listen we have had someone close to our family thats brother just died of covid 19, put your masks on! and clean and sanitize and deep clean your place it was appalling and if you can't do that for the safety of others you should be shut down!!

Outstanding people, great food! Fried Mushrooms and Gizzards. Wow. Just the very best. Of course it's always been that way. Family friendly, casual and relaxed. Bring back Cock A Doodle Brew.

Had the DDD burger, it was fantastic, would strongly recommend. Standard Dive Bar Atmosphere, great people, they were playing music bingo when I went in and I have to say the choices of music were superb classic rock hits.

Driving from Clarkston, MI, I spent my 55th birthday at Joe's. I could have gone anywhere; finding Joe's menu to be very unique. Food was great. Staff was awesome. See you in a year for my 56 birthday.

Extremely disappointed. We got our food togo fried burger was small and dry. BBQ chicken sandwich was dry bland and had more alot more bun than meat. Pulled pork nachos chips were stale not much cheese. The pulled pork was good so was the fried and kids chicken. Spent $70+ threw most of it in the trash. Cant believe we was recommended to try this. Maybe dine in is better?

Such a fun and unique place. If you like fried food, this is a great stop! We tried the fried gizzards and even the most skeptical in our group liked them. I had the burger that had a fried patty and it was perfectly done! If I lived closer there were a ton of things on the menu I wanted to try. This is not a fine dining place. It has a local hidden hole in the wall feel to it where the locals know each other and everyone is super nice to visitors. But I know some people that might be turned off by the atmosphere. So just keep in mind...the place IS called "Joe's Gizzard City" and sit back and enjoy yourself knowing that you're not going to find a place like this anywhere else!

Our first waitress was rude and nearly chased is out. Stephanie on the other hand was AMAZING. The food was spectacular. Those gizzards are worth the 2 hour drive. Thanks Stephanie you saved a potential disaster with our visit.

Three stars because the gizzards were good. Very tender!

We also got a dish called poutine( fries with meat, gravy, and cheese on top) It tasted as though they opened a powdered packet of brown gravy and added water. Yuck! The "Bloody Mary" bar was a series of open jars on a tool cabinet. It seems that they leave the open jar there until they are empty...then open another jar...and leave that one sitting there. Didn't seem very sanitary.

The place was dirty and there were electrical cords hanging out of the ceiling. The bathroom floor was so dirty, my shoes stuck to the floor! A little bit scary...ok, a lot a bit scary!

This place was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. It's definately holding firmly on to its "Dive" status with both hands!

Food here is on point every time! Best gizzards you will ever have in your life! Don't not try them based on your previous experiences. If you were to put a plate of them on your head, your tongue would beat your brains out trying to get them!

It's a landmark, and the food could be better, but it could be a whole lot worse too. It's a fun place to go on a whim, or with a group. We got to watch them deep fry my burger with their hand, which was amazing, really.
If greasy diner food grosses you out, this isn't for you. It's not a regular stop on my dining card, but every now and then, a Joe's Gizzard City is exactly what I need.
If you need a place with immaculate carpet, then you should probably go someplace without carpet.
I recommend it at least once.

I had the gizzards. I have had gizzards many places including my own home. There was more greasy fry coating than gizzard here. Couldn't even taste or feel the gizzard in the batter ball. I ended up with horrible indigestion. I had iced tea with my meal and it was overbrewed and old tasting like the equipment has never been properly cleaned. I am not going back.

Gizzards...whoda thunk? Girlfriend remembered this place so we stopped in. Boy I'm happy we did. Ordered gizzard sampler and got four flavors including Cajun hot (it's hot), deep fried. The large basket was full, tender and delicious. Then The Triple D! A third pound hamburger, bun and some toppings included are batter dipped and deep fried. One of the best burgers I've had. The batter was a slightly sweet, almost donut taste.
Going back...
