Joe's Gizzard City Review

Food was bland. My ten year old thought the drunk patron who kept swearing loudly was rude. Put a TV in the other room! On a positive note, the server was really nice.

Joes has a relaxing atmosphere. Staff are all great people. Service is excellent..

11/14/18 Tried the triple D burger, it was all that! Bring a friend to share it.

If you like fried this is the place to visit. Had the fried burger where the entire sandwich is deep fried. Also had a desert sampler and the fried cheesecake was outstanding. Owner was kind enough to step outside for a picture with me. A truly enjoyable experience.

Soggy not cooked thoroughly fries and the corn beef on the rueben was black in color! The men's bathroom was atrocious!

Omg yum!! Gizzards are so tender! Breading on fried burger was so moist and good... steak poutine was amazing !! Ice cold quarts of beer ... frosted:) and fried Oreos are a must !! First time and will be back !

If you would have told me to eat gizzards as a kid it would have been (see ya ) but this place changed my way of thinking. I travel over an hr to come here. Well worth the trip.

I went there with my son on the way up north. We are doing an unofficial Triple D tour! Gizzards dont really sound appealing to me but I heard all the food was good! We had a bit of a snafu with my order but the waiter, Justin, was extremely apologetic and courteous and that went a long way!! I was thrilled at the uniqueness of the desserts....deep-fried nutter butter bars!! We got a sampler platter to go and were turning on the inside car light to see which ones we were biting into as we were driving!! The deep-fried nutter butter dipped in caramel sauce was to die for!!

Lots of fried foods. Good but not great and lacking in healthier options. Badly needs some renovations especially to bathrooms which are rough to say the least. Not bad for what it is, but set your expectations appropriately before going.

If you love gizzards, you need to check this place out!! They are fantastic!

At first I was pretty timid about going in. It's a total dive but go for the deep fried hamburger. It's crazy and you only live once. Beer was also really cheap.

Attentive, friendly service. R's pretzel bun, triple slider plate and G's gizzard sampler, although a bit oversprinkled with Cajun seasoning, were good. Gizzards are chewy, right? Joe's, beer marinated and pressure cooked, are very tender. G and R calls it 3 1/2 stars.

Deepbfried goodness of all types. Great wait staff. Entirely pleasant experience. Would recommend to anyone not on a diet.

I had a Smashed Chicken dinner my husband had the Smashed Gizzard dinner both delicious, well worth the drive from Freesoil , Michigan

First time ever for me to be here. Good food, good staff. Everything deep fried, just the way it should be.

Gizzards were awesome. Super tender and a variety of flavors. Fresh, made to order pork rinds - snapping and popping when delivered to the table.

Me and my family visit Joe's Gizzard City on a regular basis! Fun, energetic and friendly staff with amazing gizzards! The naked fried gizzards are the best. Their appetizers, long islands and desserts are awesome too. Definitely a go-to if you love gizzards!

Outstanding restaurant husband enjoyed the gizzards.

I feel bad for my waitress. holiday weekend and she is tending bar and she has 7 tables along with a packed bar to take care of all alone. other members of the staff are sitting or smoking not bothering to help out at all! it is to the point that a customer wrote out what he wanted on a napkin and left to go smoke and check his p.o box

Nice town easy access of highway. Excellent service and best gizzards and fried burgers. Brought family from out of town and it was fantastic all around.

Small hometown bar feel. Waitress really knew what she was talking about and recommended some wonderful appitizers. The gizzards were really good. Worth the drive for the food and atmosphere.

Fun place. Gizzards are tasty, if you want to experiment.

We drove 30 minutes out of way to stop at Joe''s Gizzard City because we heard about it on DD&D. The service was horrible. We ordered the sampler platter to start. I ordered the seafood sampler and my wife ordered the "famous " gizzard's. Everything was heavily battered. My wife's gizzard's was over cook and cooked in old grease. The food made my wife sick. Very dirty place. Very disappointed!

Great fried chicken, gizzards & onion rings. We always order full meals because you have enough to take some home for the next day.

The gizzards are good. Fun place with lots of locals.

The prices are high. The olive burgers are really good though.

The place is excellent! I see all these reviews about the food being bland... not true... and yeah the place could be spruced up a bit... but this is a local place where locals love to go... I have been going here religiously for the past year and ain't nothing needing to change... We like our lil piece of heaven here in Potterville, and if people don't like it... go on somewheres else... Some of y'all don't know good hometown food when you see it... and Joe's has exactly that...

Good for greasy and/or fried bar food. Has some very unique burgers, and of course, gizzards.

Everything is good. Great daily specials. Must try the Triple D Burger & a side of Potterville Poutine.

It was my first time going here, went with my brothers! We had 3 different gizzards (which by the way are out of this world...sooo soft ) and a fish with fries....delicious!!!! Oh man I left there so stuffed!! The service was awesome, very friendly and fast!!! I ll definitely go back and I ll refer all my friends to Joes Gizzard City!!!!

The food is barely edible, and that's about all it has going for it. The bathrooms are disgusting, the gizzards that it hypes up are bland and tasteless. The "specialty fish sandwich" has the cheapest fish you can buy and flavorless batter. Incredibly dissapointed.

If you like chicken gizzards this is the place to go, also have a full menu of delicious food

The burgers were very flavorful, the desserts were sweet, but still very good. The service was very fast, and the waitresses were very kind.

Not impressed with food at all. Fish and chicken was deep fried and had no taste whatsoever. Tea was good. Won't eat here again

Very strong vibes of popular and comfortable neighborhood bar when you first walk in. But the food doesn't match that. The fish dinner is four large hot and crisp filets with a generous heap of excellent fries. Fish sandwich is equally impressive portions. Excellent tartar sauce and plenty of it. Slightly higher prices than you might expect but not by a lot and worth all of it. Friendly atmosphere with excellent and attentive staff. We'll be going back.

Atmosphere was good waitress was perfect. The gizzards however were a little heavily battered for our preference. Flavor was good, just too much batter so the outside wasn't very crisp.

Went for the gizzards, and enjoyed everything we had.

If you left gizzards this place is for you! The wife and I have been here many times. We've always had good food and great service!

Have been hoping to visit here for some time and finally did. And it did not disappoint. Food was excellent. Service was great. Drinks were fabulous. Can't wait to go back and try more. Had the gizzard sampler, DDD burger and steak poutine. We were stuffed. Had to take a lot home because portions were so big.

This is actually a nice place to hang out I heard many very good reviews about their fried gizzard. Joe's Gizzard City opens late especially during the weekend. It's a very fun and family oriented atmosphere till 9 pm this is a bar. Their gizzard is pressure cooked which makes it too soft I personally prefer the gizzard a little bit harder.

Had a late lunch here with Mom and my brother and had a great time. Came specifically for the gizzards, which didn't disappoint. The cajun flavor was my favorite and the cocktail sauce was yummy. Brother's pretzel was huge and fresh and perfectly baked. Mom had poutine, which she liked. It looked meaty and cheesy and was a large portion. I had the burger with the works, beer batter dipped and deep fried. It was good and now I can cross it off my bucket list. Would come back to try the desserts, many of them also deep fried,.but the gizzards are really the star and worth a trip to have.
