About Jewish Child Care Association of New York
Jewish Child Care Association of New York (JCCA) is a non-profit organization that has been serving the needs of New York's most vulnerable children and families for over 200 years. The organization was founded in 1822 as the Hebrew Benevolent Society, with a mission to provide assistance to Jewish immigrants who were struggling to make a new life in America. Today, JCCA serves children and families from all backgrounds and religions, providing them with the support they need to overcome challenges and build brighter futures.
At JCCA, our focus is on ensuring that every child we serve has access to safety, permanency, and well-being. We believe that every child deserves a stable home environment where they can thrive emotionally, physically, and academically. To achieve this goal, we offer a range of programs and services designed to meet the unique needs of each child we serve.
One of our core programs is foster care. We work closely with families throughout New York City to provide safe homes for children who are unable to live with their birth parents due to abuse or neglect. Our foster care program provides comprehensive support services for both foster parents and children in care. This includes ongoing training for foster parents on how best to support their foster child's emotional needs as well as educational advocacy services so that each child receives an appropriate education.
In addition to our foster care program, JCCA also offers residential treatment programs for youth who require more intensive support due to behavioral or emotional challenges. Our residential treatment centers provide round-the-clock supervision by trained staff members who are dedicated to helping each young person reach their full potential.
We also offer community-based services such as counseling and case management for families who need additional support but do not require out-of-home placement for their children. These services are designed specifically around the unique needs of each family we serve.
At JCCA, we understand that every child's journey is different - which is why we take an individualized approach when it comes to providing care and support. Our team works closely with each family we serve in order develop personalized plans tailored specifically around their unique strengths and challenges.
