I was excited to visit this great landmark but while passing through the security check point it was like the airport but much worse. The first guard was so rude to the man in front of me I thought wow this not normal! "Everything out of your pockets, everything!! Hands over your heads! Move forward through the detector!!" He yelled at us. The guard was rude and demanding to everyone. He was way to extreme and quite impolite. It tainted the experience for everyone. The rest of the guards were silent and obviously unhappy. A very bad first impression to give someone visiting, especially when we pay to park, pay to ride, pay expensive prices for the food and drinks, give at their donation box, and pay their wages with the publics taxes. There were two great people i encountered though, the gentleman sweeping the floor who took the time to politely tell people about the history of the site and the women working the coffee stand who was just plain nice. I wont be back though because of the security experience.

Most of the staff were miserable. Not one staff member smiled or was helpful in any way. They all seemed to be annoyed. Possibly because of when we went but the line was very long. It's still a very cool thing to witness or experience but maybe try to go on a slow day.

I am now visiting the Gateway Arch. I have seen it for a couple of days from my hotel room and now am getting ready to visit!!!!! The cost was $13 for a trip up and back. It takes 4 minutes up (sort of like an elevator) and 3 minutes down (thanks to gravity). It was nice but the windows are really tiny compared to the Freedom Tower in NYC. You ride in a car that fits 5 people and you start moving vertical to reach the summit at 630 feet. Pretty crowded up there and I noticed several people just sitting in front of the windows talking and not looking out. The rest of us had to wait for them to move over and let someone else look out. Quick ride down and it was a fun trip!!!

History should always be sipped at a slow pace to truly taste its rich flavors. Inside this building you can learn about American history, both good and bad. Go during a business day and during lunch time to get the fewest crowds. And don't forget to look up! We spend way too much time looking down.

The museum is pretty awesome. Going up to the top of the arch was horrible. They had so many people crammed up there you couldn't walk. Like for real I felt the breath of everyone up there on my neck or face because how crammed they had it.

The arch is a favorite place to visit when we come to visit the family. Very disappointed about the change in the museum. The old one was so Much better. The Lewis and Clark, Western expansion was so much Better. I gave it a 2 because the staff is always wonderful.
The book store had a day in the life of the president book for with Obama as president. Ahhh, he's not our president anymore .He hasn't been for s couple of years.

Even at night, it was awesome. The grounds were lovely, and it was a good way to spend the evening. I just wish my husband and I had made it to the museum before it closed -- would've been awesome to go inside to the top! Even without that, though, it was great.

This is not for anyone who has challenges with steps or balance! It was ok... would never do again. Once I got to the top... because of the way the floor is I could not get my balance.

Only national park I will not give 5 stars to. This SHOULD NOT be a national park, as it does not protect or conserve nature. This would receive a full 5 stars if it had retained its status as the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial.

Enjoyed this area very much. Had the National park pass from being out west, nominal fee if ya didn't have the pass. The park and many areas around this arch are so full of history. We went inside and took the elevator to the top and we were able to see spectacular views.

The "Gateway to the West", is the tallest structure in Missouri. It stands 630 feet tall and 630 feet wide at its base. Hard to believe it is as tall as it is wide. There is an elevator style system we took to the observation room at the top of the arch.

I encourage you to look up more information about this to learn about our best country in the world!

Well of course the arch!

Well of course the arch!
It's a little tricky to get there and there was construction going on at the time which made it trickier, but it looks like it will be quite nice when finished.
Online it said the team tickets in the arch where quite a wait but walking up to a stand in front of the arch got me right on. Nice trip

Beautiful old courthouse! Full of history. Friendly tour guide who interact with all patrons, making the tour exciting, informative & interesting. Beautiful art an history combined. Wonderful gift shop, clean restrooms. Stunning historical architecture! Pay special attention to that gigantic, beautiful flag. Notice anything different? Also, look out for the turtles on the gates! Cute, interesting story behind those!

We went here on a Friday in October. It was not very crowded which was nice. There is security (like TSA but less) to get into the arch itself so give some time for that. The bathrooms were clean and family friendly. The trip up and down the arch was easy. We had preordered tickets online and we didn't have any waits at all. My 3 little kids loved the Arch and the museum exhibits below (see pic). Weather was cold and windy so didn't spend much time outside this trip. Will come back for sure even just for the museum part and the garden/riverfront.

This was one of the best things that I checked out while in America. The city and its people just add to this. This Arch is huge, about 613 feet high and the view from it is just awesome. Its a must visit attraction for a visitor. A great site-seeing opportunity! You can spend a lot here but the trip to the top is only $12 and discounted for kids. Lovely views! A must see plus the surrounding park is great for nice walk!

This was a wonderful tourist spot!! The park around the monument were lush and tranquil. Very family friendly! The lines to go to the top are long but they go quickly! There are vendors for drinks and ice cream.

Something about the Gateway Arch says: Intriguing, peaceful and spritual. Also, don't worry about money if u don't have it on your first tour. You can watch cargo boats push through the Mighty, walk on new paths and sit on the steps on the riverfront......always something new to look at.....it's really groovy. I never tire of it. Enjoy.

This was my 28th national Park to visit since starting my travels about 10 years ago. I found out from a fellow photographer that this was America s newest park just recently and therefore planned a visit. I spent most of the time walking around the grounds capturing images at different places while the weather was still good for that. There s a number of different parking garages nearby. I stayed at a nearby hotel where I d be staying for the evening. There s lots to walk around and definitely a sight to take in as America s newest national park!
