The whole plaza is amazing and very informative. The gateway Arch is the centerpiece but everything below ground is also great. We partook in the museum and took a tram to the top of the arch. From there the veiw is awesome. The whole riverfront near the monument is nice. Well worth the time to take it all in

Very thoroughly updated, lots to take in. Much of it has an intentional pleasing asthetic and can be extremely educational or casual (your choice). It doesn't seem big and yet you could easily spend a few hours if its your sort of thing and you actually try to take in all that is offered. Especially cool on a hot St Louis day! Leace a bit of extra time for getting through security (that was not apmething I expected)

We had a great time. We learned a great deal from the different exhibits. There was so much I didn't know about how the arch and the history of the area surrounding the arch. This is a activity for all ages.

What an amazing structure! It's hard to even describe the feeling you get when you walk up to it. You must go check out if you are in the area. Lots of restaurants and bars around too for fun places to check out afterwards. Electric scooter rentals were also available everywhere you went.

The museum is really cool and very informative! Add the tram ride to the top and the movie and you will get the fill gist if how this was created and developed. It's incredible the skill and creativity of this Arch! Fully divulge yourself in learning how the arch came to be! You will be dumbfounded!!!

This is 1 of the few places that I enjoy going to just to relax & enjoy myself by either sitting on a bench under the tree shade. And watch the Mississippi River flow by or watch the River Barge's go up & down the river.
Or sit in the grass in the tree shade by either of the 2 small lakes on the Arch Grounds.
One lake is on the North Side of the Arch, & the second lake is on the South Side of the Arch.
The Arch Grounds by the 2 lakes or even under the Arch, is a great place to have a Family Picnic with your young children & they can play in the grass too.
But to go into the Arch Museum or to the top of the Arch, you need to make reservations for that. The Museum is FREE

The Gateway Arch was amazing. I hated that I really couldn't enjoy it because it was too crowded. We went on a Sunday around 1pm and it was overcrowded. And it stormed the whole time we were there.

Want a nice stroll in the park, along with great music and cool sight seeing over 600 feet in the air looking at the great St Louis in Missouri? I highly recommend you to visit Gateway National Park. What a wonderful experience my wife & myself had for the 4th of July 2019 experience. Come here and enjoy your experience to.

PEOPLE GOT STUCK AT TOP AND ONE STAFF MEMBER IS VERY RUDE

I give this museum a 1 star review because my family and I wanted to go see the Arch, and thank God we bought the boat trip and the rise to the top package. We went on the boat ride it was nice very informative I recommend sitting on the left side. When we where done with the cruise we planned so that as we finished the cruise we could go up the Arch. When we arrived to the line for the Arch they had to shut it down because the tram got stuck and people where stuck at the top ... They gave everyone a full refund (for the ride up) but one lady in particular let's call her ( white haired, power tripping, park ranger B*$#&) she was rude to everyone as if we had inconvenienced her she was demanding that familys split up and only 1 person from each family stay in line (which I get to a degree but I was not letting my 10 year old sister walk away in the sea of people by herself. Then she forced people into a line that no one was operating and didn't start operating until 30mins. This all happened Sunday August 4th

Even if you're not doing the arch, because you're afraid of heights or claustrophobic, I'd recommend the museum.

I was travelling to St Louis on business and stayed at the Hyatt right next the arch. I found time in the morning to visit the museum and ride to the top of the arch.

The museum is very nice for a free museum, telling the history of that area from the time of native peoples to the current period. There was also a nice exhibit on the design and building of the arch.

History Revisited

History Revisited

I had a chance to return to the Gateway Arch in St. Louis for the memories and to introduce a friend of mine to the 630-foot-tall structure that is twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty. With so many changes; a new entrance, now you exit from the legs and a redesigned museum.
With a span of history starting from 1764 to 1965, the six galleries are bright, interactive and informative. I was excited to explore the area while admiring the revision efforts of the Park Department. This is a must-see introduction to Americas progression through pioneers, trail blazers, fighters of human rights and the importance of a dreamer that constructed a monument that proved anything is possible.
Overall: Better space usage and a wonderful gift shop.

The park is beautiful! The Rangers provided a great deal of information about the grounds, the Arch, the courthouse and history. The docent was also informative. All the folks I met were friendly.

Dont miss the place if you are on the mother road route 66. Its just so mesmerizing. Plan your tramp ride and river cruise ahead as it could be almost sold out on weekends or holidays and you would be rather regretting. The river cruise is perfect for the sunset and night view of the downtown and its history. Parking can be extremely difficult if its long weekend or in case of game in the stadium next to the arch. Great architecture and now a great historic place! Awesome!

The workers were ALL rude. Shut it down. Never returning. I ve seen slave masters treat their slaves better than the workers treated the guests here. Never again. Throw the whole arch away. There was no sense of organization. I ve seen cans of sardines more organized than this. The food workers were great though. I loved them

Definitely a unique experience! Thrilling and educational. May have difficulty if you are claustrophobic or acrophobic. The ride to the top is a very small enclosed sphere type vehicle, not super comfortable for those of us who DON'T have claustrophobia. But it's only 4 min. up so really not bad. The view is spectacular! You can feel the movement of the Arch so if that could bother you it may not be the trip for you. But you should definitely make the trip up once in your life! National Parks!

A very interactive Museum for all ages. I visited here during summer and it is cool inside. If you plan to stay for long, you might want to get a layer of clothes as it can get cold depending on your preference temperature-wise. There's a cafe inside and yes, they do not serve French fries! Try their smoothie though. This is a great place to hang out with family and learn about mid-western history!

The museum is well done with many interesting visual and interactive elements. It's layed out where you can move along at your own pace and/or see something else if a certain area is busy. I would like to go back and spend more time since we did a late tour and were a little rushed.

Recently renovated, the Museum at the Gateway Arch is entered through an attractive, somewhat below ground, entrance. Upon entry, tickets can be purchased to ride up to the top of the Gateway Arch. The museum itself offers free entry and is very well laid out. The renovations are impressive. The exhibits are well planned, engaging and offer a great insight into the history of this area. There is also an attractive, technical display about the construction of the Arch. A gift shop and cafe are located on site as well. This relatively small museum is well worth a visit.
