JBJ inc. Review

This is a review for "The Woods" apartment complex and JBJ in general. These are listed as "luxury" apartments but my experience this far has been anything but.
Some things that I have experienced this far have been: 1. Neighbors smoking in their apartment and the smell seeping into my apartment (not something I want to wake up to several times per week) 2. A water line becoming clogged and breaking causing dampness, mold (on furniture and in closet space), a musty smell, and water damage to furniture all from a known problem that was never addressed when they knew it happened. 3. Not replying to emails when complaints or service requests are sent (they simply show up when they think you will be at work and leave a note so that they do not have to interact with you and actually solve the problem). 4. Not servicing the electrical boxes (which will cause persistent beeping noises that keep people up at night). 5. Not replacing air filter before we moved in (it was disgusting! and probably served little to no function with the amount of gunk in it)

I am not sure if my experience is an isolated one or not. All I know is that I expected a lot more from this place considering I am paying above $1200 per month to live here. Not worth the price point in my opinion. I would expect these issues (and lack of resolution) from an apartment in the $500 range.

I rented from JBJ for 2 years, enjoying my stay in a 2BR/1BA apartment in Menomonee Falls. The company was non-invasive, and helpful whenever I had any issues. Particularly important to me, they didn't try to overcharge me for anything, had an annual resident appreciation week, and kept the common areas (hallway/entry/parking lot/trash area) clean and in good repair. One nice example of how they treat their residents is I brought in a rent check a few days late once, and although they could have fairly charged me a late fee based on their policy, they didn't. I tried to be a good resident, and they were great landlords in response. If I were to need to rent an apartment in the area again, I'd happily do so from JBJ.

One of the worst move in and out experiences of my life. When we moved in our carpets were still soaking wet to the point the movers actually refused to bring some of the things upstairs because of the slip hazard. As the carpets dried spots started to resurface and we realized these were very old carpets. We had already sent our walkthrough in so I called and was assured it would be noted for us. Throughout our time there we had noise, neighbors who smoked outside our window, horrible heat upstairs with no way to cool it, this constant beeping outside year round (we never did figure it out). When we finally moved out we cleaned the place top to bottom. It was move in ready. When we received hardly any deposit back and saw it had been taken out for carpets I nearly lost it. The response I received back was rude and accusatory. It wasn't worth fighting. I would never recommend anyone rent from such a petty and greedy company. Terrible.

Very good people, They really know their job and do it well.

I have lived here at this wonderful JBJ Property for going on 11 years now. I remember driving to work and back watching it being built not knowing it would be my home someday. I have found my forever home. Very comfortable. Anything I need assistance with is handled promptly and professionally. I highly recommend JBJ PROPERTIES! They have been very good to me!

I have my job transfer from Iowa to Wisconsin state so I check online what all apartments available in Germantown and Mequon areas in WI and in that process I found JBJ properties and one of friend is staying in this properties in different until and he sad JBJ properties is good, so I check what all amenities they have in apartments and I thought for $729 rent to have dishwasher is good. But when I moved into apartment I see we don't have dishwasher. When I call the property management and said them your online description says you have dishwasher but I don't see it inside home , the lady just replied me saying they are low rented apartments so they won't have dishwasher and when I said online website description shows its there , she just replied saying every one sees the apartment before they lease, so no one have problems like me and she gave an advise saying she will move me to different apartment which has dishwasher. I felt its absuletely not acceptable because I have called the internet and cable guys to come for setup on the day of my movie and I had updated address change for all my financial things and doing things again will wast time and I don't have that much free time again. I advised them to change the online description so that next time people won't be cheated like me and they did not even bother

Haven't moved in yet but so far absolutely amazing! Ronda, Connie, and Dustin worked with my boyfriend and myself to not only do a simple search to see his background check was wrong but also helped us fix the problem so we could rent with them. Took about 5 days and they held the apartment for us! So far so good. Would highly recommend all 3 of them. Sometimes all it takes is a little honesty to get the help you need.
