Jas Stephens have done an excellent job in managing our rental properties for us. I have found them very methodical in doing inspections and providing me with details of how our tenants are treating the property. This is very different to the experience we had with another inner west real estate agency. Sarai, our manager, is a pleasure to deal with and has good relationship with our tenants. Auction was professionally ran and the overall process was quite smooth. However on THREE separate occasions the house was found unlocked and the rear access was wide open after returning to the property after open inspections. This is very unprofessional behavior and shows a lack of respect to the property owner.

Beware of this company if you have a rental property and are looking for a property manager. I have had an extremely poor experience. As a result of their neglect in performing property "inspections"I am out of pocket thousands of dollars. Their inspections seem to be merely a walk through of the property to check a tenant is keeping the place tidy. I would recommend every landlord take the initiative and attend inspections with them as they clearly don't have the expertise to conduct them. Good luck if you choose them as a property manager. Hope you have plenty of money to spare!

In 2003, a friend of ours encouraged myself and my now investment property partner to purchase an investment property. We did and were very excited and looking forward to renting the property so that we could cover the associated costs. Unfortunately, the property manager at the time did not do very well in screening the potential tenant. We were stuck with a serial non paying tenant, visited the tribunal twice and struggled to have the tenant vacate our premises. Our moral was low and contemplated selling the property. However, at long last, the bad tenants vacated.
After our very bad experience, we saw a bright light at the end of the tunnel by the name of ANN BORG. We welcomed Ann and her many years of experience and wisdom. Since Ann had taken over as our property manager (we have dealt with Ann Borg for approx 10 years now), we have found her to be extremely professional, honest, fair, highly experienced and has that most important quality INTEGRITY. If we should have any concerns, Ann is prompt with her replies and follow ups.

Since Ann has taken over as our property manager, screening of potential tenants have been of the highest level and therefore, we have since had excellent tenants. I can honestly say that we have peace of mind knowing that Ann is looking after our property. I am so glad that we did not sell the property, as the capital growth has increased enormously. Terrible experience. Items in the property went unfixed throughout tenancy. Making unfair claims against the bond and clawing at us to get anything in the bond. We've rented 5 times over the past 7 years and I've never had such a poor experience.
I have a rental property managed by Jas Stephens. Ngaio Watson was my property manager for several years and is now my maintenance manager. She has always been a most valuable representative for Jas Stephens. She has solved all our property issues quickly, successfully, with no fuss and always with a friendly, polite and concerned attitude. I have lived in Yarraville for over twenty years and knew Jas Stephens is Yarraville. They were the first place I considered and, having met John, became the only agency my wife and I considered. A total professional in the work that he did for us, but also a very personable agent. We were parts of the process from the moment we signed John and were kept informed at every turn. John's campaign brought over eighty parties through our house in four weeks and a pre-auction result of which we had only dreamed!
Hands down the best Real Estate agents I have dealt with. Response was super quick, very fair and understanding and really willing to work with you as tenants to do as much for you as they can. Any issue we had with the property was sorted so quickly or someone was on hand to advise us how to fix it.

Takes good care of tenants and follows up on issues quickly. They have a tenant portal which is great for checking payments and posting messages. Can be a little tricky to contact but they do get back to you in a very timely manner by email and phone.
The smoke alarm people are annoying to deal with and they push you to use their utility connection service even if asking to opt out.
Good balance where they care for tenants and the owners. Inspections are twice a year.

Michael Daldy and Craig Stephens made selling our family home a pleasure. They were honest, empathetic, considerate and professional from start to finish. This was our first time selling a house. We interviewed several real estate agents but Marina stood out because she spoke to us with such intelligence and knowledge. She also took the time to understand our needs and to demonstrate that she truly cared about us and what we hoped to achieve. She had none of the stereotypical real estate salesman traits that we had been warned about. She was just genuine.
This was our experience with Marina throughout the whole process. There was never any sign that she was anything else other than genuine.
To add to this, Marina was extremely efficient, thorough and communicative. I'm pretty sure I received a text or email from her every day of our campaign. Sometimes even just to check up on how we were feeling.

I have availed their services over two years and very happy with the agency and surely it happened because of the agent Ms Kate Reijnen.
Her professionalism is highly commendable. She is an expert who knows where to draw the thin line between the owner, tenant and agency. We have not faced any communication error between the three parties being her in the centre of communication.
She has a natural ability of mixing with people and that's her one of the key strengths. I have always found her cordial, sincere and honest. Neither she over promised anything to us nor she was hesitant to offer any support that I deserved as a tenant.
