Good spot to sit outside and relax while enjoying some food and drinks. Service was a little slow but they were busy. Overall good place.
Excellent service, BBQ and drinks. This place has come a long way.
Awesome bartenders and omg the food, I'm not sure if I loved my chicken sandwich or margarita more. I'll definitely be back to try more drinks and dishes. The vibe is sports bar like, upbeat and had good music and packed out completely on a Thursday! It's a bit pricier than my usual Thursday happy hour dives so I'd prob only come in for dinner or a drink or two. Also I wish the drinks came in mason jars but they do decorate with them so I guess hence the name lol in any case I loved, if you nearby stop in for a drink!
I really like this place. The food is great and the staff is friendly.
Had a nice lunch here. Cobb salad was very nice and decent pour of white wine for $6
I adore this spot! They serve first-rate meals, their menu is nice, The chief cook in that restaurant is very trained, I like a lot trying all their dishes. The food is consistently of high qualtity, the attitude towards the visitors is friendly. I often eat in this place and I was never unsatisfied. Highly recommended.
About as bad add it gets in terms of food. In the middle of Korean town, plain bars good. Enjoy it.
Great place to buy food when in a hurry. Their customer service is prompt, rates are convenient, excellent ambience. Will visit here again
Placed an order on Grubhub, I called to confirm the order because no progress changed on tracking. The girl that answered said they were making the food. 25 minutes after the delivery time I called back to get an ETA and was told they were out of deviled eggs (which was the only reason I ordered from them.) The food was being made over an hour after I initially called. Unfortunate experience, was really looking forward to trying while in town. Restaurants get busy, no problem, but a call to say they were out of things or that the food hadn t been made or an explanation 25 minutes after the delivery time would ve been nice. Don t accept online orders and confirm them if you can t handle the business.
This is by FAR the greatest place in the NYC area to order some Fried Chicken. The Mac And Cheese is legendary and the butter that they provide for your Texas toast or jalapeno corn bread should have a reddit page of loyal fans for it. This place is just absolutely amazing and I recommend it highly to all people who are hungry.
The ribs are very good I look forward to trying other things
A great regular go to spot for me and my buddies, always friendly, big portions, good drinks and loads of space.
Great staff the wings are amazing the Mac and cheese is not the best I wouldn t recommend it
Place is legendary. Manager here is Brian, he is a class act. I grew up in a family business (cafes) and was impressed with his service. Food is delicious, burgers, ribs are high end and very filling. The fries are incredible, and come pre seasoned. Happy hour special is daily and everyday of the week they have a different deal. Monday evening they have .25 cent wings.. Anyway, I approve, I've been coming here at least three times a week for 9 months. My co workers come here for happy hour as they have live music and darts upstairs
this place was great. good food, great atmosphere, great waiter. the full house is ridiculously Big for a great price. okay that is three times i ised the word great (four) so go try it.
I take my family to this nice place from time to time! This is my favorite spot to eat. I visit this spot frequently. The food is excellent, the crew is professional and the rates are reasonable. I like being in this spot to have a tasty lunch.
Excellent bourbon need brisket sandwich! And great selection of bourbon.
So much fun and good food!! We had fun celebrating a birthday of a SC alumni!
Nice spot to watch a game. Bartenders are cheerful and accommodating considering the clientele. Food isn't good.
Midtown bar with decent beer and BBQ brisket, plus other snacks. Big TVs for sportsball but thankfully quiet. Good service.
This restaurant provides excellent service and delicious food. My favourite spot around here. The drinks and food served rapidly and the rates are fair. Will definitely recommend this spot.
Very good environment, fast food and nice staff! Try their burger and enjoy the lunch specials!
Pretty good bar to hang out at after work. Their happy hour (ends at 7) includes select beers for $5, and a special beer + well shot for $8 which it a pretty sweet deal. Crowds can get a little large.
Don't judge this book by its cover. Mason Jar which might appear to be the next best thing to BK in Manhattan is in fact not unlike its Murray Hill neighbors - bro-tastic. The spot does offer yummy cocktails in nice looking inscribed mason jars, but that is where the idealyc hipster comparisons stop. Mason Jar is overpriced with inattentive staff. There are giant projectors to watch sports on TV, but that isn't what I want to be doing on a Friday night. This spot is masquerading as something other than it is - a sports bar.
Stumbled on this gem & im glad I did. The food here is AMAZING. Everything was cooked to perfection. I ll recommend this place 1000X
I visited The Mason Jar for a weekday lunch. The pulled pork platter was fantastic with just the right amount of BBQ sauce and smoke flavor. I had the mac & cheese and corn bread as sides. The mac & cheese was good and the cornbread was great. They also had a wide selection of beers and bourbons. My only disappointment was that despite being named 'The Mason Jar', there were no Mason Jars or weird drinks in Mason Jars to be found.
Great place on the east side. By far the highlight is the open faced Ruben sandwich,my lord! Saying that, don't expect to be walking out, you'll be rolling after having ate too much. In addition to the food, they also have an extensive craft beer and spirits menu worth looking at. Highly recommended.
nice for happy hour, saturday dinner and drinks at the bar, sunday brunch because it's not over crowded and the service is so much better than other local spots.
Chicken wings and brisket were so good! Knowledgeable and friendly staff helped us select beers and wines
Visited for a corporate event during Pride. The service was excellent, with a great variety of drinks available on tap, and the provided meatball buffet delicious. I can't speak to their regular menu, but if it's anything like the lunch we had, I will highly recommend it!
Amazing barbq for NYC. I had the best brisket I've had in years.
Esteban was FANTASTIC! Such a kind and attentive server. A friend and I came for happy hour and loved his service. We will definitely be back!
Really enjoyed the fried pickles and the brisket grilled cheese. The Mac and cheese was okay. Service was good.
Had lunch at the bar. The jalapeno margaritas and the grilled cheese were both fantastic. Great atmosphere and music as well!
Good for groups, usually attentive service during happy hour. Wish more beers were on happy hour (only bud light and one craft beer on special).
The burgers are amazing, the staff is super friendly. Doesn't get any better
I am a beer loving vegetarian. This place certainly has a good beer selection, but the southern menu didn't really leave much for a vegetarian. Thankfully, everything I tasted was really good. The avocado salad had fresh/ripe avocado and was well dressed. The Mac and Cheese was delicious. The deviled eggs were spicy and wonderful. The only thing that let me down was the fried pickles.
Everyone was very friendly. Crab cake were on the money. Grilled chicken sandwich was very good. Tons of French fries. Buffalo chicken nachos were great. Atmosphere was relaxing. Can't wait to go watch Gamecock football there.
Unfortunately my first visit was during a global oandemic so I cant comment on the interior decor or ambience but thats not we really want from a BBQ spot anyway. The food was fantastic. Amongst my meal the standouts were the fish tacos which were delightfully seasoned and perfectly sized for an appetizer, and they even camed with light, airy and lightly salted homemade potato chips. And the salmon BLT (without bacon) and the salmon was juicy and delicious and came with a side of lightly seasoned fries that were tasty as well and had the right amount of crunch. My girlfriend had the brisket platter and loved the seasoning and cook on it although if you like your beef more rare, you may be disappointed. I highly recommend it as a bbq spot in the city, especially if you have friends who don't eat red meat or pork. The fish options and sides will be sure to please.
Loved the lighting, crowd, bathroom cleanliness and overall service.
Recently here for my Xmas Party..My LongIslands we're Awesome
Chicken wings on point...buffalo chicken salad was dope...jalapeno drinks are spicy.
What a hidden gem !! The staff are amazing and attentive, the food is delicious... Great for an after work hang out or even a casual date. I'm really impressed with the service received and the food quality. Kudos to the Mason jar team, you guys are amazing! ( Try the nachos & the Cajun wings )
Took a chance walking by, and I'm so glad. We are chefs from New Orleans, and when I see "shrimp and grits", I'm always suspect. This place knocked it out of the park. Fresh food, great presentation, pleasant low-light atmosphere. We will absolutely be back.
I meet friends in this great restaurant quite a bit! This is my favorite place to to have a good dinner. I visit this spot at least once a month. The food is just great, the workers are friendly and the prices are decent. I enjoy going in this place to have a tasty meal.
Excellent ribs. Good jambalaya. Reasonable to pricey.
Great BBQ, broad beer & whiskey selection, and good screens for watching games. If early enough (4-6pm dinner time), OK for family friendly too
The place was great, they had good food, and a lot of tv's to watch the game and our server was fantastic with excellent customer service which has been hard to find in NY. Overall we will be coming back.
I prefer to sit at the bar here. Excellent service with good selection of craft beers, whiskey/bourbon, and appetizers. Very good BBQ. Lively bar atmosphere to unwind from the day with friends.
Portions tobprice ratio is disappointing at this joint. Food is OK at best. Nothing outstanding in my opinion
We hopped into madison sq eats and the stand seemed pretty appealing. I ordered the the brisket and mash combo. It was pretty good, the price was a little steep at $16 for a small order.
OK place but first time having fried pickles and they were good
Solid bbq offerings, smoked chicken wings are excellent. Beer selection on draft is ok, but not great.
Went for bottomless mimosas...was amazing! The food was delicious too. Would recommend.
Great loft for private group gathering, excellent service
Went for brunch. Got the Egg, Brisket, home fries, bacon and toast breakfast along with pulled pork egg roll appetizer. The home fries and bacon were the best part of the breakfast. Unfortunately the scrambled eggs and brisket were barely warm. The brisket was overly dry and salty, which was a big disappointment for me because I LOVE brisket done properly. The small side salad served alongside the pulled pork egg rolls was excellent with a very tasty dressing. The rolls themselves were pretty good. Service and atmosphere were very good. Overall a 2.5 or 3 out of 5
Decent bartender. Armed with poor options of certain spirits. Not my style
I went to the #bwaybites stand and got the brisket grilled cheese. So disappointed. Spent $9 on a grilled cheese that had not even a 1/4" slice of fatty brisket on it. Also the sandwich was cut into triangles and I was only given 3, I was missing a fourth of my sandwich and my friend got the same thing! How do you only give 3/4 of a sandwich?? Not worth the money. I really wanted to like this place too. The actual place is probably better, but I'm never gonna go there based on this experience.
The food here is great and I love the constant rotation of the beer menu. There's always something new to try.
I went to school at USC. The southern food there is the closest you can get to home made southern food. Plus they are all about the gamecocks.
Exceptional food, very friendly employees, regularly excellent ambience. They charge fair rates and the food quality is excellent. Great work.
Great food and enjoyable brunch but it was disappointing that they ran out of pork. Its a BBQ place and its the middle of brunch. They place wasnt busy and more than half the menu was pork so it really limited things. But everything we had was very tasty
Came here for lunch on a weekday. When we visited it was very quiet, we were one of only two tables with customers. They do a great lunch special which we went for, and the price of that was really a good deal. There were some interesting beers on tap too and I wish we'd had more time to sample a few of those. The meats were good, but on the time of our visit the bread rolls that were used for the sandwiches were very dry and on the verge of stale. Everything else was good and the waitress was really helpful. Just a shame about the bread rolls as that was the difference for the 4 stars versus 5.
Was in NYC for work a few weeks ago and went to Mason Jar to watch the Cocks play Texas AM. Before going I read reviews on how they are among the elite in mixing up an old fashioned. Place was live, so I ordered two, considering it took me ~30 min to get served initially. The gentleman tending bar serves them to me in the world's smallest solo cups, and it tasted like ginger ale mixed w some bottom tier bourbon, considering they were $15 ea.
I love the food and always great on Saturday Carolina college football games!
One of the best fried Chicken sandwich I've had in a while, with a great Beer selection. The staff was very friendly as well. I will become a regular at this spot...
Decent sports bar in midtown. Doesn't look likely to get crowded on weekends.
Found this place looking for a nice brunch option for my first time in NYC friend and Mason Jar was amazing. Staff was polite, friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Their deviled eggs with salad were a nice take. Shrimp & Grits reminded me of my last trip to New Orleans, everything cooked perfectly and flavors were so on point! If you're looking for great plaves in the midst of COVID check out Mason Jar!
Probably one of the best meals and the only five star place I can give. The reason being is that it is reasonably priced, good food, and has lots of gamecock things in it. Go cocks! Yes we are from South Carolina.
Grest atmosphere. Great drink specials. Manhattan feel without the manhattan price
Fantastic brunch place. Bottomless mimosas or bloody mary's for $15
Decent food, portions felt a bit small. Large, clean interior that feels half sports bar half pub.
This place had a great feel to it. The food was amazing and the staff were super friendly
