Sultan palace. Very impressive and interesting tour of the palace. Cozy invitation to a cup of tea.

Interesting, not outstanding. If you are short on time go see the fountain display at the mall.
Excellent, to know the history of the ancient inhabitants of the area!
HISTORICLE PLACE ARABIC ARABIANS RESIDENCEY AREA OLD time
A beautiful tourist heritage area with a range of restaurants and cafes directly overlooking the Dubai Creek
Interesting contrast to the shiny skyscrapers. A few art galleries and postal museum as well.
It is a historical place, there are museum, rulers court and old city.
Fantastic place to go and learn about Emirati culture, eat some nice food and get a picture with a dude and his falcon, aka falconator locally. Overall all a good day!
Very nice area many small museums and galleries. Be sure to visit and spend some time in the cafes and galleries.
Interesting place but looks a little artificial and touristic...
Coffee and coin museums - one laugh. And the historical village is, by and large, souvenir shops for tourists. The only plus is that it's free. And you can also ride back and forth from this place on an abra (boat with a canopy) for 1 dirham one way.
Nice History rebooted
Good ambience, beautiful buildings in front of a modern skyline, unfortunately without end construction sites, the whole grows and grows ....
One of the best place .Every one should visit to know the history of Dubai .
Highly recommend going there just make sure its not during the summer. Alot of the stores are closed because of the heat. And there is NO shade anywhere
Way more here to see and do than it looks. Eat lunch at Local House where game meat is on the menu. Also street art galore.
In this place you can feel the history of Dubai from the time when they were collectors of pearls, before they became builders of skyscrapers. The contrast of historical and modern Dubai is striking.
It is old and traditional and has a local house restaurant that serves delicious Emirati food and a sweet atmosphere
Amazing ancient looks heritage streets which reminds us the old and gold days
Its was overall a good experience however Urdu Literature part found missing.
We all know it is built in modern times, but detailing of every Single thing takes us to ancient times. A must visit place where one should come and experience the calmness of old architecture.
It is interesting to get to know the culture and customs
One of the many few places to visit across Dubai to take you back in time which helps to witness how simple was our life away from electronics, television by just enjoying the beauty of nature. I have always been very passionate about Islamic architecture and especially the middle eastern ones with domes and mashrabiyah. The idea of having narrow lanes for natural ventilation was ingenious in accordance to wind direction. Those days mankind didn't have mechanical ventilation system and instead relied upon Barjeel which is the wind catcher. Some prominent examples of wind catchers can be witnessed at this spots. At night the beautiful proportions of illumination makes it looks magical. There are so many minor details which makes this place stand out and the best part is its simplicity. I wish our lives would be that simple as those days when we had few reasons to be saddened and disappointed. I would highly recommend everybody to visit this place to witness the rich history and culture of UAE.
Another very interesting historical area with many old buildings. There is a beautiful mosque to the end of the section. And notice the small lanes that interwine between different buildings. Sometimes walking through them seems like a maze. Around the area, there are a few museums and old houses. Do drop by after visiting the Dubai museum which is nearby.
a nice tour through buildings and restaurants designed in an old fashioned style. Great varieties.
What a treat to find this place...not over the top touristy and not overly crowded (at least when we were here) which allows time to connect and learn of the past...very open spaces...lovely staff who always great with a smile...must see
So I have been to Al Fahidi historical neighborhood in Dubai. It is the old Dubai, with small pedestrian streets. The whole area had been renovated and wheelchair friendly. Most of the stores and cafe / restaurants are accessible with a wheelchair. I have been to the public toilets there, and they are very good in term of accessibility, even with an emergency cord. Al fahidi historical neighborhood is a good example of old areas being renovated and accessible.
Here you need to switch from ultra modern and big to old and small
Al Bastakiya. A place reflecting heritage and history with combination of street art and retail. Ideal for a walk, gathering or relax.
One of the must visit tourist location in Dubai near creek area. The government allocate a best place to preserve the historical area and maintaining very well. Worth seeing this area and by visiting this area we can understand the old history of dubai and the step by step of the developments. Nearby creek boating area also the best place for a nice cruise.
Great place filled with the history of the UAE, plus its free and a short walk from the AL Fahidi metro station, would love to go back again, but in winter. Lots of walking in the outside areas, so not a good idea in summer.
Although I have been a resident for more than 25 years ... but it is my first visit to this distinctive archaeological heritage district .... Our return to Dubai modernity ... But in this place many years back to feel the history and legacy of Dubai and how they lived The founders of modern Dubai ... I advise you to visit this neighborhood and enjoy the archaeological atmosphere ... For me remind me of the old Damascus lanes.
Lovely part of Dubai. Make sure to head to the Sikka area!
A special neighborhood that takes you back to the past
Depends what you re looking for. This is a peaceful area with some shops with wears much nicer than in the souqs down the road and the locals are a lot more relaxed here too. Walking through the small lanes is nice and also shaded and there are lots of pop up galleries and small museums worth going into to. For these reasons I really loved it. But it s not necessarily an authentic old village so if that s what you re expecting you might be disappointed. It makes for a nice change to the touristy hotel vibes of much of Dubai. There s few bits of interesting historical plaques and places scattered about as well.
A nice area to wonder round. A few museums to see and sights to gaze at. A couple of hours should suffice... Have a authentic breakfast from the cafes nearby to set you up.
One of the Historical place in Dubai. It's really awesome looking
Great historical place for learning about UAE traditional culture and arts. There are also lovely restaurants, boutique shops and some places to learn how to eat and costoms of culture.
Great place to spend family time for walk and dinner.
Its amazing you should visit this place with out visit this place your tour not complete
I love this historical neighborhood - I highly recommend it in the winter - Very beautiful popular restaurants and nice workers - There I am selling heritage - Walking between the alleys is beautiful, the fragrance of the past and the beauty of simplicity
The old town, a historical landmark, you can see how they lived here once
Very interesting, a nice insight into the history of Dubai
