Been pulled over twice this month because they keep saying either my husband or I have a suspended license. That's not true, we don't even have a ticket within the last ten years but I went to the DMV to check anyway. I was correct, no suspension on either license (poor excuse by the cops anyway, but that's a different story).

Perhaps if you actually did your job instead of just pulling people over the crime rate in this terrible place wouldn't be what it is. 50 minute response to get to a home invasion or burglary in progress even on a dead night when they've had less than 15 calls for service, yet you'll see 8 cars pulled over on third street for BS reasons, but if some known criminal is robbing you? Yeah, not important they have a quota to fill. If I get pulled over again this month for nothing, I'll be contacting my lawyer whose just desperate to go after this agency of ne'er do wells. Absolutely ridiculous. The unintelligent criminals here get away with everything because you have to force JSO's hand to get them to do their job, but they have no issue pulling over people who haven't done anything wrong. Why don't you go get the things stolen from my neighbors house instead of sitting in the cruiser doing nothing? Oh that's right, "there's a process" that includes them not investigating or returning calls. Ridiculous. Would give zero stars if I could.

It s a shame how they can hold on to someone s property so long. Even After the case is over charges dropped 13,000 spent they still have yet to release my money to me we I m about to be evicted from my house. All due to the paperwork not making it there. They are very slow to rightfully give back but so quick to take.

I had a theft of 2 rings in Orange Texas. I did not notice the loss of the rings until I got to Jacksonville, my home town. I immediately contacted Orange, TX police department and reported the theft.

I was told by the Orange PD to go to my local police department and do a witness statement. I contacted the Duval County Sheriffs Department by phone and was told they would not take a witness statement from me, because the crime did not happen in Duval County. There is nothing they can do.

The Orange, TX PD told me the witness statement can not be taken over the phone. that is why I was told to make the statement with my local PD, referencing the Case Number. Have Duval County Sheriffs Department forward the statement to Orange, TX, PD so they can start processing the case. They can not proceed with a witness statement.

I find it strange that a Orange, Texas PD can help a Florida traveler, but his home town Sheriffs Office has no one that can help. The process seems very simple to me, to bad we, (Jacksonville), don't have a helpful police department like Orange, Texas. They actually care about service to their towns people and travelers going through area. They apparently also care about solving crime.

Never once have these cops ever helped me anytime I called them out. Worst station in the state of Florida. Anytime I ever called for help they would send me the rudest cop they could find. They don't want to help, they are here for a paycheck. I'll never call for their help again.

The next story is true and I wish I did nt have to write a report about it but the taxpayer in Jacksonville and mike Williams needs to know. I came across a male subject siting on the park bench wearing no pants and beating his meat in broad daylight around 305 pm on 8/27/18. 99 percent of the people in Jacksonville would agree with me that this guy needs to be cuffed and stuffed. So a call was placed to jso. 25 minites later no one has showed up. I did ask the call taker if I should yell at the guy to put his pants back on but she said no. Watching from a distance the subject finished his public performance and them wiped his hand on the park bench. So the next person who sat down guess what that wet spot is on the back of your shirt. I did run into two officers in the parking lot near the federal building doing nothing. They said it was nt an important enough call to respond.

Corporate lobbies have stacked government regulations against the common citizens to an extreme degree. Its unfortunate that there are individuals all too willing to enforce these regulations without question.
We are in critical need of legal reform. Good people are being harmed.

Literally just called them. The woman refused to listen to what i had to say and treated me like I was garbage. I have never been treated this way by any company or service. I'm glad it was a call about racers and not anything more important otherwise it wouldnt have been done. I'm not even sure if she will do it even still

Why would a community officer park across a businesses driveway and when asked politely if he could move back 10 feet he ignores me. When he just told me he'd do so it in a minute ,he didn't , therefore holding up traffic and HIS COMMUNITY from getting to work . Then had the audacity to tell my bosses I was belligerent. I have an English accent as I'm English and was very polite .Guess that makes me belligerent or he doesn't know the meaning of the word . What is wrong with people I just can't believe this world today :((

I live in front of a school, on a two lane road. I recently moved into this home, and since I've lived here, people have always parked on the street. I received a citation for "obstructing traffic", despite no "No Parking" signs being present. Not 5 months ago, the COJ was repaving the roads, and left notices at everyone's door asking not to park on the road while they were repaving. If it was illegal to park there, why did they not indicate it at that point? Common sense would have them issue warnings, instead of citations.

Went in for a polygraph recently for a job. The polygraph examiner treated me like a criminal from the start. Yelled at me because i wasnt sure of specific dates and coerced me into changing my answers. Every answer i gave wasnt good enough and would cause me to fail the test until i gave an answer that was good enough . Went through a whole year of dates before he was just like just pic a date that it couldnt be after. After i had already went through a calendar year. I just wanted to get out of there. I shouldnt be treated like a criminal when trying to get a job

So, your officers can tell a passerby to stop recording a certain area? I think not. And then arrest him for what exactly? You guys have a storm coming. Actions like this cause other GOOD cops to be hated.

Lived on this street 28 years. Today found a ticket on our third car because it is parked on the street. The ticket form is not filled out & contains no checked boxes to tell me what is wrong with parking there (especially since we've had our cars there for about 9 years). Looked on applicable FL Statute and can find nothing we were violating, but here's this ticket with a warning that they're going to be impounding it if it's not moved. Called JSO and was told he was off. Asked for someone else and was told no one else could help me.

I'm all for cops doing their job...but in 28 years here I've had two cars stolen, 9 cars broken into, my kid beaten up and his bike stolen out from under him, and a kidnapped sister. Where were the cops then? They showed up at their convenience and acted like nothing that had happened was a big deal. Less than two months ago six cars parked on this street were broken into--where were the cops then? About 15-25 cars are daily parked on this street, are they all illegally parked? Why does the cop not fill out the form to tell me what is wrong, and why is the cop "off" today (he's handing out tickets on his day off??) and why is he the only one who can answer my question? Just how FUBAR does this sound to anyone else?

This police station and the way the handle Jacksonville is the reason why there is so much crime in the area. My property was broken into and back door and appliances were stolen. I called the Jacksonville police for help. They promted me over to dispatch. Dispatch said they couldn't send a police officer out if the property owner wasn't at the property. I repeatedly let them know I was out of town and I had no family members that lived local and there was still no way that they could help me. I called back several times hoping I could get someone that has some type of ethics and really cared about the citizens and helping. and there was not one person who could d help. I couldn't believe it. My property had been broken into, no back door and the police couldn't go and visit and check up on it. UNREAL! I had no other choice than to fly into Jax to take care of issue, I Called the police at 10 am they did not show up until 4;30ish. Rookie cop, and he could not care less, he asked me a few questions handed me a document w police report number. What I found even more disturbing was the front neighbor came out and told him that they had been breaking into cars I the area and his response to her was, get a camera and talk you for letting me know. :/ Scary place, selling the property and I will never ever make a stop in Jax ever again!

Sold his integrity due to someone honking, and "challenging his authority." Does JSO stand behind this officer's actions? Officer T.J. Carr is a liar. I'll consider updating rating after I see how Internal Affairs handles this abuse of power and falsifying of documents.

I was entering my neighborhood, Bentwater Place off Hodges Blvd., and upon entering, there was a vehicle parked in the road, blocking the right-of-way. The vehicle was parked next to an unmarked patrol vehicle, who did not have any emergency lights on. Since I had to slow down, and drive on the shoulder to go around, I honked my horn, then proceeded home. I immediately looked in my rear-view, and saw the patrol vehicle begin to follow me. Knowing the speed limit in the neighborhood where I've lived for 10 years is 30 MPH, and the fact that I just honked the horn at two vehicles blocking the right-of-way, one being a police car, I consciously obeyed the speed limit and all traffic laws until I reached my home. The officer followed me home, engaging his lights approximately 200 yards from my driveway. When the lights went on, I used my trucks Bluetooth to call 911. I requested a sergeant, and for the dispatcher to stay on the line. The officer is heard stating I shouldn't have honked the horn, and that he was giving me a citation for going 10 MPH over the speed limit. I told the officer I was not going 40 MPH in the neighborhood, and requested to see the radar. He claimed his car is calibrated to issue tickets. I said he was mistaken, or at worse, a liar. I gave the officer my license, registration, and insurance, and he went to his car, before returning with the citation. While he was in his vehicle, the car he was blocking traffic with, drove by my house and yelled out to give me a speeding ticket, and the officer also called a Supervisor. As soon as I entered my house, I called the non-emergency number to check on the status of the Sergeant. While on the phone, a marked patrol vehicle showed up. It wasn't the sergeant I requested, but who I believe was the Supervisor the officer called. I told him what occurred, and he recommended I file a complaint with Internal Affairs. He said IA would be able to pull GPS logs to verify whether the officer actually reached 40 MPH.

Side Note: This officer is constantly seen parked on the road speaking to other vehicle. Officer even admitted that he does that, but they are all homeowners. I stated that it is still illegal to park in the road, and block the right-of-way, unless emergency lights are activated. I've complained to the HOA before, but have never reported to JSO, because I cannot get #'s off unmarked vehicle. Question: Is it okay to ask an officer for their patrol vehicle and badge number?

I would like the ticket dismissed on grounds that the officer never paced me at 40 MPH, and falsified the ticket. I would like a written apology from the officer. I would like the officer to be reprimanded for violating JSO's oath of "perform(ing) their services with honesty(!), zeal, courage, discretion, fidelity, and sound judgement." As well as violating "B" under article III.

Respectfully,

Jonathan Leija

As a police officer and veteran, I'm ashamed of your agencies conduct against citizens conducting constitutionally protected 1st amendment right. To all citizens, I would like to say that many of us within law enforcement DO NOT support this type of behavior, but after watching video after video. I m starting not to believe it. SAD days in law enforcement. Good job TYRANTS

JSO has a zero empathy policy. It doesn't matter why you did something if you broke the law. Spoke with a guy named Goody to explain the circumstances leading up to an emergency situation and was rudely interrupted. This guy literally went out of his way to cite me. What a tool. You might as well be a metermaid.

PS. Nobody likes you.

Awful experience..

Awful experience..
A driver stole our truck, trailer, and the load inside. All we asked was to go out to him and take the keys so that the equipment will be secure. They told us they can't do that because it hasn't been reported stolen.. and that takes over 48 hours to process... in the meantime he can take everything apart and sell it. I called the police to stop a crime before it happened! I didn't ask them to arrest him - just simply seize OUR keys to OUR equipment. First county in the country that I've called and can't do that.

I honestly can't believe that No Provisions have been made regarding inmates release of their vehicle and COVID-19. Notaries are unavailable for inmates until COVID-19 is lifted. That is, if an inmate has a vehicle that was impounded (Tow yard), the inmate cannot get a notarized statement completed giving permission to someone to get their vehicle released without a notarized statement. Because a notary is not available, the vehicle stays and charges rack up. Every place should have provisions set up for emergencies like so.

Zero stars if that was an option. Rude, corrupt, criminal behavior, liars, unprofessional, not well trained, abuse of power to name a few. With that being said, if you encounter a cop and he commits a crime against you, or just a crime in general, you can forget about any discipline. They are above the law. Don't expect any help when you need it either....they don't want to be bothered unless it includes them using powers against you, ie: placing you under arrest, threatening you or giving you a fine or citation, because that's what they get off on.

Not allowing people to report crime shows support ...

Not allowing people to report crime shows support for crime. It's no wonder your slogan is "If there is no fine there is no crime." Truth is your are a fund raising organization not law enforcement.

I will never buy a home in Jacksonville or go to any events/concerts hosted in Jacksonville. I have never had a ticket, been arrested, or had dealings with the police except to report drunk drivers or things falling from the back of trucks. However, I am Navy and lived in Jacksonville s better neighborhoods for 15 plus years. I know plenty of horror stories about the JSO both from neighbors, friends and even JSO officers themselves. I was even told by a veteran JSO officer to drive around Jacksonville when traveling to avoid it completely. The overreach of police authority is shocking here. Avoid at all costs.
