unbelievable service, the children's hospital wing was a wonder.

My Wife and I were in for her first ultrasound and the receptionist there was rude and told us to go wait till 12:30pm when it was 12:28pm because she was still on lunch and didn't have to help people until 12:30pm (Mind you that this was just the ultrasound receptionist). The lady actually doing the exam was amazing and sure kind made up for that horrible interaction.

Nurses and doctors were very knowledgeable, professional and caring. Great help provided also by lactation consultants. The hospital food were also very good.

IWK was an amzing hospital. They helped my son so much and provided him help with so much love and spirit. Always very up beat and happy. My son has had a quite a few stays there, and never had a bad experience. VERY LOVING and KIND people!!

The best people, amazing facility, they went above and beyond for us. It was like a second home and we were almost sad to leave. This place is a model for professional, compassionate healthcare.

I had three of my four children born here. Had hardly any visits with my three oldest, but my daughter due to having a neuromuscular condition called conganital myopathy has made up for it. Any time we have a visit to one of the numerous clinics or when she has had a surgery or other procedure the staff have been very kind and wonderful. Quite a large amount of staff know us by name.

Absolutely love the iwk...my 2 younger children are followed threw a few of the clinics. But mostly threw neurosurgery...the docs and nurses were the best there...and have awesome bedside manners. Truly a great place

I'm not sure why there was a two hour wait for someone who had an appointment. Terrible also I am shocked by the amount of nurses who tried to force bottle feeding on my wife. Supposed to be a pro breastfeeding children's hospital but a large amount of your staff doesnt.

I could not imagine how I would have gotten through my delivery without the support of the amazing staff.

It was an exciting experience but it was just a few days

This isn t particularly for the hospital per se, but more about the mental health centre and adolescent intensive services. It was genuinely a pleasure being in AIS, I was in the blue group back in 2016 and the people there were incredible. I made amazing lasting memories with a lot of the people who were there and I loved the environment. The staff are amazing people who really care, and I could just feel the support radiating from everyone. They really helped me transition back into the school system and I truly appreciate all of them. I genuinely miss being there, but I can always reflect back on the good times

Fantastic hospital with world-class health care providers.

Food isn't great but that's to be expected I had a good stay there only complaint is on a Monday after I returned I didn't get to eat or drink all day from 7:30 am when I ordered breakfast it sat by the bed till 6 that night I didn't get a break to use the bathroom or anything since it was doctor after doctor all day it was horrible all I had in me was a lot of pills so I felt like death.

Went in at 1130 am to IWK emerge to see a doctor with potential appendicitis. 6 and a half hours later. Still have not seen a doctor. Not sure this is the healthcare I am happy to pay for. :(

The Staff at the Perinatal Clinic in the IWK are all so Very Helpful & so Kind & Caring. Definitely Glad to have them around for my Pregnancy

Most ridiculous place I have ever been. My 9 month pregnant wife comes here with liver issues and we are trying to get help and we are not getting anything. We have been seen by a doctor and nurses and no one is helping us they keep saying we have some one coming down in a couple mins and still nothing. The doctor just waliked in as I'm writing this and says did the benadryl help and surprise we weren't givin anything. There is zero communication in this place. Year ago there fighting for more help but I'm walking around the hospital and all the nurses are sitting around talking with each other laughing. This is a joke horrible experience I would say don't come here but it's the only hospital so with that said good luck and be ready to sit for hours and no one actually help you

This place is always amazing, great people, great service.

My son was born 9 weeks premature and he stayed here for 5 weeks. Wonderful place, great staff. The Ronald McDonald House was wonderful to use with our 6 year old daughter. Only good things to say about this hospital.

I had ankle surgery and they did an awesome job the staff was nice and everyone was helpful.

IWK is such a wonderful place, they are all god sent! I flew for in for my god daughter because she was sick and was here. They saved her life and I am forever grateful!! God bless you all!!

My son was at the IWK for 4 day and received incredible care. Every single person that had anything to do with his care was extremely helpful, kind and patient with him!

I was here when I was a kid and the service and hospital were incredible. I owe a lot to them.

Terrible to half to see my son this sick and they say theres nothing wrong with him the first couple visits to iwk. but when we go back and demand a xray they find he has phnemonia. They give him antibiotics that dont work so here we go again back to iwk again. Poor little guys is sicker then ever now having phnemonia for over a week hopefully you can do your jobs right this time. Come on doctors start listening to the parents if you would have it wouldnt have become this bad. Theres doctors on the news warning about phnemonia in the young and old and your turning the little ones away sayen theres nothin wrong because your not doing the proper tests ffs get your heads wright

It's fithy! Women giving birth are cattle and they have no patience for scared little ones who arent deathly ill. Hate this place.

The people at the iwk are helpful and had a great experience the doctors are amazing

Nurses and doctors are very professionals and excellent customer service but the system in general very poor. Waiting for the facility to send registration documents to statistics department for more than two weeks and after they said that they did is not tracking numbers for follow ups.
The longest baby registration that i see in the world. Compromising the child medical care do to the pediatrician is in US.

So grateful and happy, my daughter's birth was one of the most important, comfortable and nice experience thanks to Dr. C. Connell and Katheryne Mills! God bless you!

Overall nice hospital with knowledgeable nurses and doctors.It might be an issue with emergency department.arived at the emergency and we were the only ones there no other patients in line.Was waiting with my child for 30-40 minutes after the first nurse saw us for a possible concussion.The nurse came by at 15 minutes to see her Wich was nice but she told us it wasn't bussy but that could change any minute.2 cases here. Either we weren't a serious case and they where taking it slow (all that at 1 am by the way and my 3 year old child ready to sleep from being tired).Or there were more serius cases but I think the doctor could just come and see us it was a 5 minute tops examination or just to send us for a possible x-ray or something.So the second case show us either short stuff or very bad organized system/communication.

Every time I go there, I had to stay 5 hours to be seen. You will see other patients going ahead of you, even if you arrived first. They will be going inside running and very happy, as if they should not be there at all and other kids crying will b waiting outside. Staff is good and doctors will b eating, drinking coffee, chatting or on there phones and when u ask for the reason for waiting, they will tell u they r busy with other patients. As if they r doing that on purpose to push the city to hire more doctors.

Horrible bedside manner. Paramedics as well as hospital staff were extremely rude besides their male gyno. I have been to a handful of hospitals and I have never had a longer wait time or worse service. They discharged me while I was still loopy from anesthetic and told me everything that happened and how to take care of myself while I was in a drugged up mental state that I don't remember. Nobody was gentle and most were disrespectful. The paramedics wouldn't answer my questions. I've only lived in halifax for 3 weeks and My wounds may be infected but in full honesty, I would never want to step foot in this hospital again. No after care provided. No painkillers prescribed. Nothing.

I honestly wish that I went somewhere else where patients matter a little more.

on march 5th 2014, we welcomed a new granddaughter to our family. Our visit to the IWK centre was an eye opener of lack of cleanliness and care of the facility. We waited in the 5th floor family room while our daughter-in-law got settled in her room. This room was as dirty as anything I have ever seen. The furniture was shiny with layers of past dirt and spills. Around the vending machine was a spill that had remained there for many,many days if not weeks and not mopped up. I could see where the dry mop had been run over the area thus debrie and dust stuck to the spill. The dry mop track could be seen around each piece of furniture and other fixtures in the room. The hallways were equally as dirty, black scuff marks everywhere, dust in the corners and along the walls. I witnessed a man cleaning?? sitting on a motorized floor washing machine pushing a dry mop, thus the dirt in the corners.Is this a culture in this high profile institution? Where is the supervision? The patient room was not cleaned between patients either. The stairwell to the garage was greasy with unclean conditions. To say the least I was appalled and saddened by this experience. Someone should take this seriously and improve these conditions.

Beautiful and treated with kindness from everyone their bright orientation to patients always

They are an amazing place for children, my younger brother Sam was born here and if it wasn't for the Dr's and nurses here he never wouldve survived. He was born with a big hole in his heart and my stepmother had bad complications during the delivery but thanks to the staff there they are both happy, healthy and alive. Lots of love xo

I can t even put into words how incredible the staff is. I had many tests and scans done and for the long ones they would even put a movie on for me to watch so I wouldn t get bored. I had a couple abdominal surgeries as well, my surgeon and his team were amazing. The nurses on 7 link were amazing they were always very loving and understanding. I also spent some time on 6 link and although they were some of the worst days of my life the staff always found ways to make me happy. I cannot express how grateful I am for what they have done for me.

Annoyed with this place. I know that nurses and doctors are busy and have a hectic job but every appointment we have attended in the last 6 months has always been an extremely long wait. Seems constantly understaffed ( or at least that's the excuse they give) and very inefficient.

Excellent staff! A huge thank you from Toronto to all the staff particularly of the 7th floor for going above and beyond in assisting my mother ( Carol ) after her lumpectomy surgery and for placing her in a room directly in front of the nursing station. They have a room service style food ordering system which allows patients ( free 3 times a day ) and visitors ( $7 & $10 ) to order from a choice of 10 yes 10 different menus such as post-op, pre-natal, Halal, low sodium and more 24/7 -- each have an enormous selection. I ordered breakfast and it was well above expectations and steaming hot. Without a doubt the IWK far exceeded expectations. Parking is $14 a day and families of patients can buy weekly parking for $30 first week and $25 for second week onwards. OUTSTANDING!!

He is a very sophisticated children's hospital and everyone is good people

It's a great hospital,very well clean,and very very good nurses and staff.

Doctor and ultrasound tech are very professional, however they should fire their receptionists. We have experienced nothing but disgustingly rude behavior from them both in person and over the phone. Considering moving back to cape breton to have our child there if this continues

Staff are so friendly, outgoing and caring. The time we spent there with our newborn for her TEF repair was beyond amazing, I, we, can't give enough positive praise for the IWK and the fenominal staff. Thank you all for everything. You're fantastic at what you do, keep up all the awesomely great work.

Be careful who takes your blood, there. This really hurts and is also swollen....

I had surgery (broken at the bottom of my tibia)I went the Dartmouth Gen and waited but they transported me here,I thought I'd have to wait Bc I traveled in a private vehicle but no.I took ct there and they added a cast but they called the next day (today) and said that my surgery is tomorrow to put in some pins.

This place is always amazing....always feel that my wife or kid is very well taken care of. everyone seems to love their job. No complaints

I have nothing but good to say....the doctors have always been so kind even when they are so tired. The nurses are busy but still seem to care....we need more doctors to make this easier on everyone patients and staff....bless them all.
