Isle Casino Hotel Review

The casino was beautiful and all the employees were pleasant and social.

Went there for a wedding reception but didn't expect to walk through a smoke-ridden first floor before going to the event ballroom in the 2nd floor. The food and space were nice, but I hated coming and going.

For obvious reasons its fun. I just got to get passed the cigarette smoke.

I'm very disappointed with this casino and waited quite awhile before posting as to be fair. I'm a Platinum player and there are some perks to your advantage for this. My attitude towards going here has diminished however due to the gaming floor! I used to go frequently, but WEEK AFTER WEEK, MONTH AFTER MONTH FAIL TO SEE MYSELF OR ANYONE I KNOW. .. WIN ANYTHING!! They are very blatant about the few winners that they do LET win. Mood and morale is at an all time low, and many people leave angry. Prizes won seem to always be allocated to the same people as you will hear the same names being called over and over (as if the rest of other people's lost monies isn't sufficient to be recognized as winners)! The arrogance to think that they can continue to take hard earned monies from people and continue with the same strategies is appalling to most who used to love to game here! And trust me, I know... gambling is a RISK, but to be on the floor and EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING, is something that needs to be addressed and resolved. It seems no matter how much you spend, you walk out a LOSER for most. (Trust me, I put it to the test). Many people have stated they planned to call the GAMING COMMISSION to report it, but it is not known whether they've followed through. I for one have decided that if I'm not good enough to win there, then its smartest to spend my money somewhere else. The parking lot and floor is emptier and emptier, so other people may be coming to the same realization.
As far as goods and services, the casino employees have taken involuntary cutbacks so their morale is down, yet they for the most part try to make your stay and experience a pleasant one.
The food is good, but costly if you don't have perks to lessen the cost(which by the way, even for high tier players, meal amounts have been reduced also). Hotel rooms are clean on occasion- judging by comments made by overnight guests. And they do have a relaxing pool, sauna, and workout room for those who choose to stay. (That's how they received the rating that was given).
Other than that, host services and reservations are fairly simple to make and they are courteous.
My rating and suggestion would be to go and have fun in the pool, eat, and get a good nights rest, if you need a quick getaway....BUT
STAY OFF THE GAMING FLOOR!!! ...
unless you don't care about throwing your money away!!

My wife and had been driving around all day and ended up about 250 miles from home,it was getting late so we started looking for a hotel to spend the night.My wife was googling hotels and Isle Casino Hotel in Waterloo came up,she had checked the pricing on some other hotels, in the 115 dollar range,we didn't check here,our mistake,it was 150 dollars for the night,but with tax and a resort fee,a RESORT FEE,ive never paid that before,maybe its normal now,i dont know,it came out to be 172 dollars. I've done a lot of travelling the past 4 years,every hotel I've been to always offers a complementary continental breakfast or a voucher for breakfast,nothing here,the buffet is outrageously priced,we paid 5 dollars the next morning and left. I won't be staying here again or recommend it to anyone.

Went here for my birthday, with a friend on a Sunday. We decided to stay because we figured that we could have drinks, dinner, and hang out without having to leave. This is not the first time I've stayed here and I have never had any issues prior to this trip. We went down to the pool and hot tub area, but it was so incredibly hot that we could hardly stand to be in there. We decided to go and try some machines and ordered a couple of long islands. We thought they were reasonably priced, so decided to have a few of those. We realized that she was "making" them entirely from the fountain pump. The alcohol in a long island should not be coming out of the same pump gun as the Coke. There had to be little to no alcohol in them whatsoever. Ridiculous! On top of that, the snobby bartenders made it completely apparent that they didn't want to be there. They were rude and unwelcoming. They acted like we were bothering them. The food in the restaurant was sub-par. Typical bar food.. not awful.. not great. I wouldn't pay to eat their again or buy any more drinks. For the amount of money we spent on the hotel, gambling, food and drink, it was undeniably not worth it. Won't be going back.

Great rooms and clean place. Staff on front counter was not friendly and only had one person working.

Played blackjack for 8 hours. Was a fun time. Everyone was friendly.

Recenlty turned 21, so this was the first casino I have been to, and I was very surprised how well they managed to keep fresh air circulating through to keep the smell of smoke down. I enjoyed my time at the Isle!

Actually we're at water park but would like to go to hotel and casino next trip. The water park was amazing and had great time there with kids. There is something for everyone and all age groups. I highly recommend

Expensive. $100. Will get you a room without a fridge or microwave. And if you forget anything, like a toothbrush or a razor, they charge a rediculous amount to buy one from there. Also, the showers have almost no water pressure.

This Casino is a big rip off. Will never set foot in here again. Machines are so tight. No free spins. Stay home if you want to save money. Took all my money.

They stole everything but my child support cuz kid come first

We were visiting near here for about a week. We ended up going to the isle three times over our week here. We stayed about even one day and lost big on the other two days. This is not a casino you can sit and play at for a while. We went down to Tama once and when we come back next year we will skip the isle and only go to Tama. The isle was very smoky where clothes had to be washed when arriving home. I didn't see anybody hit jackpots while at the isle. Also their center bar is cash only. We live in a big city and prefer to use our cards for purchases like that.

Clean casino. Worker's was constantly cleaning machine when people got up.

Beautiful place to stay, great upkeep, nice and clean , and the people are very helpful and courteous!

Given this was a Thanksgiving day buffet, the food was fantastic and the hosts were great. With so much going on, it's incredible that they are able to still service all their guests well. We never felt ignored and never had an empty glass. As for the food, it was good. Not great, not bad. A great experience though and we will likely be back

The staff is incredibly rude on the casino floor. It seems as if no one cares about their jobs.

Kind of like to hang out with no money but eleven dollars in am interested and increase my knitting skills by voting against the county of Black Hawk results were howling of a sluggish performance by the anti casino supporters that allowed the various types of struck gamblers to relish in enlightenment of a easy and quick victory now the only thing is that Waterloo had huge amount of poor people who can ill afford to blow away money that rarely have whatever it is a delineation

Your average American casino. Lots of slots, some table games and a large bar in the middle. I liked the decor. Plenty of TVs to watch football. Drinks sorta expensive.

It's a casino, based on my rating I obviously didn't win but I didn't lose everything either. So....

Small casino floor, with no winnings really. (Lived in Vegas for 8 1/2 years)

Did not stay, just looking for overnight parking. They do not have it.

Had dinner at the buffet on Friday night with a friend who flew in from Vegas. I, too, used to live there and food is always great. I've never been to the Isle so thought it would be great to go. Well, I hate to say that the food was less than average!! The prime rib was anything but good...tasted like an old dried out beef roast and was tougher than leather! No seasoning on it at all and anyone who loves prime rib knows it's a juicy, tender cut of meat. Crab was good, but that was about it. So very disappointed and won't be going back! Rest of food no better than a cheap buffet...too much money to pay for this dining experience!!

We ate the breakfast buffet and service was good and the food had good variety and was tasty. It's a fun time for family, we got a high chair for the 1 year old and were accommodated well.

This was the worst hotel I've ever been to the front desk was rude and the housekeepers were so obnoxious and rude.

This was one of my favorite casinos. But all the new games that they are putting in aren't good.

Buffet had decent food and wait staff does a good job. I did not get crab legs which saddens me but I did not want to shell out another $5 on top of the buffet price.

Fantastic room and front desk staff. The buffet was pretty good. Bartender was very friendly and helpful. The selection of games are decent, but could use improvement.

The only thing you win here is an empty wallet and complimentary bed bugs. Do yourself a favor and head to Tama. Better odds and better staff. The only saving grace for this burned out Hell hole is Otis & Henry's. A little pricey, but every time I go there I get great food and great service from their staff. If the Isle closes, which it needs to do, O&H should relocate somewhere here in Waterloo.
