Islamic Dawah Center Review

It was close on the weekend. I was there for asr prayers but the masjid was closed.

Great place mashallah!!! Wonderful service. Professionalism all around. My wife and I loved the experience. We recommend everyone to go visit this amazing center.

Please teach dress code to non Muslims after they have accepted Islam as there deen , all Muslim specially who are giving dawah should be polite and humble so our manners should attract new Muslims , I am sorry that Regina had a bad experience ,Islam is perfect Muslims are not even close.

It is an unique mosque in Houston. I performed my last salaat here. Great atmosphere.

Downtown, nice to pray in very near neighbourhood. Very easy to walk through Main street towards UHD. GPS let me walk pretty longer distance!

I googled this place and walked about a mile from where I was attending a conference downtown. It is Saturday afternoon at 3 PM. All the doors are locked. There is a gentleman working the parking lot charging people $20 to park and I asked him if he would let me inside and he said no that the building was locked. It's very disappointing to have a mosque in such close proximity to downtown only to find out that it's apparently not open on the weekend during the day for people to pray

Great place . Excellent service. Just parking is very limited due to being downtown so if you are in the area on Friday just arrive early or be ready to walk a lock or two.

One of best masajid in Houston area. Hakeem Olajuan converted an old historic bank into an awesome peaceful place. May Allah subahnautallah bless him and accept all his deeds. Ameeeeeen

My favorite library! Gorgeous and practical. I thought I entered Jannah when I toured their library on the 3rd floor. May Allah bless all, who work to make this center a success and keep this Dawah Center as a beacon of Islam. Ameen!

Amazing learning experience! Incredible host! I am a non muslim living in LA. I visited Houston and the center last week with my mom and my cousin. We were well received and well taken care of by the staff of the center. They have the best Islamic Library for anyone who needs to learn about Islam and muslims. Thank you for your time and may god be with you all.

I came here for the first time yesterday with my husband for iftar. It was a lovely experience and friendly sisters. My husband has been here before and enjoys it always. InshaAllah I will come again soon.

Mashallah beautiful center inside and out. Everyday iftar during Ramadan is excellent. Plenty of good food served to all guests (muslims and non muslims), everyone is always welcome.
For those who complain about the food, remember that there are others that are not as fortunate to have this kind of establishment in their hometowns!

Alhamdulillah, the place is so beautiful that everyone should go there. The management is so helpful.

Our visit to the center was very educational. On top of that I felt a great amount of peace as I toured the center.

The Center is welcoming to Muslims and non Muslims alike. The building is magnificent and clean. The people are friendly and helpful.

Such a beautiful place! Alhamdulillah that I came across it today

I went to study here Friday. The sermon in English I understood. Simple and efficient speech For the first time it was realized how to handle the people reading the modern way of the mosque. Cleaning is half faith and there is definitely a good management arrangement here.
There was also the third day of Eid al-Zihadi. After the prayer, sweets were also received.
The scholars say that promote religious tolerance. I do not know who it is a mosque, but whatever is good, it is good.

What a nice facility for prayer!! I would recommend this for family stops, community programs, or even just for congregational prayer. Best one in the area

Today I went to Pray juma salah, I checked the prayer time it was 1:30 PM I blame the Imam for my today's prayers, the Imam should think that we are in USA not in our countries to take juma off or negotiate with our employer. he should realize the time value. In qayama I will ask this Imam for my today's prayers. According to the masque the qama was suppose to be at 1:30, but the Imam kept talking till 2, so I had to leave the masque because of my work.

In my opinion the best Islamic institution in Houston. Friendly and welcoming staff to Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Make sure to visit their library, it s a hidden jewel of Houston Downtown

Is there any beginner sessions or help in transitioning over to a Muslim?

It's not open all day,so know the schedule before you go. This place need regular people. It needs true Americans who follow the INALIENABLE rights to practice religion following Qur'an without fear of intimidation or harm to consistently come to the masjid and be active in following Qur'an sharing the Qur'an to save as many people as possible for a limited time because life is short in dunyaa

One of the best masajid in Houston. Located right downtown in the heart of Houston. One of my top picks to do iftar. Very well managed, excellent food, usually can get 2nds, dessert and tea or coffee afterwards. Wonderful group of people make the iftar process easy and friendly. There is gender segregation so it's not family friendly unfortunately. If you're the star struck type, you can meet Hakeem Olajuwon on any given evening there. Immaculate building turned into a masjid. It's the old train station from my understanding. Library upstairs that's open to the public. Highly recommend the Dawah Center for a visit or for iftar during Ramadan!

Masjid is closed on weekends, I'm here on Saturday for maghrib namaz, the guy on parking lot told me masjid closed on weekends.

HORRIBLE Experience! My boyfriend and I just left and was not welcomed at all. We were told that it will be open at 1pm, a gentleman came outside to tell us rudely we were inappropriately dressed and that i would have to change and wrap my hair. Mind you, my boyfriend had on basketball shorts and a white tee shirt. I had on jeans and a dress shirt. I totally understand the dress code and presenting yourself well but to make me feel beneath you and tell me I m not coming in is ridiculous. My boyfriend is Muslim and he s introducing me to the religion but this was terrible in giving me an understanding of the religion!

Probably the most beautiful masjid in town. And the only one that serves all Muslims in downtown.

Ladies and gentlemen of any race or behavior. When we go to masjid . Do not pick up negativity from their. management. I know Current manager is little crazy and not all up there, but still I go there for my mental peace which comes from the prayer/worship. Please do not judge religion by people . Use your own brain and eyes to Research. Alot happend to me at the different Masjids cz of the retard management staff but I had enough patience and smile to prove them wrong.

Question: I have tried to visit this place several times but never arrived when it's open. I was just wondering do you guys hold five daily prayers here?

Mash Allah this is a beautiful Masjid inside out! The best part is that it has wifi and there will also be a library within this Masjid Insha Allah. Just beautiful Mash Allah. :)

Beautifully renovated, kept the original building as much as possible. It's such an interesting and beautiful set up inside. There is very limited parking so either walk, Uber or arrive early.

Alhamdulillah beautiful clean masjid. Lets keep it clean and lets make sure its full to the capacity for all five daily prayers.

I have been going there for over 10 years now. Very professional and friendly. Clean facilities and very welcoming staff. Monthly network luncheons are great to meet new people. Library is amazing. Allah swt has surely blessed us with such a facility in downtown.

Alhamdulillah, a beautiful and spacious masjid indeed in Downtown, only wish there are Halal establishments in its vicinity so that the Ummah can grab a bite without being fearful of breaking religious codes...

Great place. Awesome library, I think, because the man in charge couldn't tell me what time the libabry is open, but he said they have good books in there. Security staff is great, A/V is great, which is a struggle at many mosques. It is VERY clean. The guy in charge, Executive Director I believe, needs to gain some people skills though. He is way too rough around the edges but I think he could be straightened out to benefit the organization better.
