Disgusting service I am shocked. I have e-fix wheels (by German company Alber) but Invacare are the sole UK company allowed to service the wheels. When one wheel started squeaking loudly and seized up in manual position, I tried to get it looked at but my local e-fix dealer John at Independent Living but he said he had to go to Invacare. He had a lot of trouble getting hold of the relevant people at Invacare and when I tried Invacare directly was told I had to go through the local guy (John) they couldn't deal with me directly - a lengthy and frustrating process.
I have even called the company Alber in Germany and explained the situation as a wanted to send the wheel directly to them but they have told us we cannot do that because of the deal they have with Invacare.
This wheelchair is my legs, it is not acceptable that slack customer service is stopping me from using my chair properly and when we send the wheel back I will have to be pushed around in the manual wheelchair for a couple of weeks (I have no upper body strength) I can't believe this kind of service is all disabled people can expect? I have tried in vain to find the company director of Invacare's email to write directly to him, I always think it is best to give people a right to reply but in this situation I think my duty is to warn other disabled people to go elsewhere to buy your products (if possible) and make sure you have better options for servicing your wheelchair.
