Interval House is a non-profit organization that has been providing support and services to women and children who have experienced intimate partner violence for over 40 years. As the first centre for abused women and children in Canada, Interval House has been at the forefront of the campaign for women’s empowerment, helping survivors transform their lives and break free from the cycle of abuse.
At Interval House, we understand that leaving an abusive relationship can be a difficult decision. That’s why we offer a range of innovative, specialized services designed to meet the unique needs of each woman and child who comes through our doors. Our team of dedicated professionals provides counselling, legal advocacy, housing support, childcare services, employment assistance, and more.
One of our core values at Interval House is safety. We believe that every woman and child has the right to live free from violence and fear. That’s why we provide a safe haven where survivors can heal from their trauma without worrying about their safety or security.
Our shelter is staffed 24/7 by trained professionals who are committed to creating a supportive environment where women can rebuild their lives. We offer individual counselling sessions as well as group therapy programs that help survivors develop coping skills, build self-esteem, set goals for themselves, learn about healthy relationships.
In addition to our shelter services, Interval House also offers outreach programs designed to reach women in need who may not be able or ready to leave an abusive relationship yet. Our community-based programs include crisis intervention services over phone or online chat; legal advocacy; public education campaigns; workshops on topics such as healthy relationships; parenting classes; job training opportunities.
We believe that everyone deserves access to resources they need in order thrive after experiencing intimate partner violence – regardless if they are staying with us at our shelter or not.
At Interval House we recognize how important it is for survivors’ voices be heard so they can share their stories with others who have gone through similar experiences – this helps them feel less alone while also raising awareness about domestic violence issues within society overall .
