I come here once a month for extra groceries. I walk out with 100 to 150 pounds of food every time. They make it very easy to sign up... Just ID and proof of income. The food they give you is substantial. Lots of fresh veggies from their garden and lots of good meat, milk, eggs, and even some prepared foods. The volunteers are very friendly and helpful.

So one has to show proof of an income and having a temp job every now and then doesn't qualify you to get food. I'm trying to find a steady full time work and taking whatever i can get and this place want to play God with my life and refusing people food because I can't find steady work. I thought that was what these programs are there for, to help people when they are down on their luck.. Maybe if I wasn't white they would have wanted to help me.

Thank you for the food. You helped me and my spouse out so much. I was worried about not having food to get through the month and you guys provided an emergency bag and an interview. God bless Interfaith Food Pantry for the work they and their volunteers do. They really got us by when we had a very low budget and no government benefits. I recommend everyone to donate when you can and whatever you can. Follow them on Facebook. Donate your time. They really do help everyone.

The woman, director, who's name I choose to forget, was NOTHING SHORT OF DISGUSTING TOWARD ME,AND SAID"I'm your last hope". She was angry with me,because one of her VOLUNTEERS,didn't process my paperwork, but she's a VOLUNTEER,so basically I shoulve been grateful!! That I couldn't get food for my kid! The emergency supplies?? The ONLY SOURCE OF PROTEIN YOU GET? Sugary peanut butter!! No cheese or eggs even!
Once you do "qualify"(which is funny! Having watched an older couple with a newer model cadillac s.u.v!) You will GET NO MORE than about 1 approx 1-2lb package of a meat/poultry/other source!, & barely ANY PRODUCE!
which they grow! OH & thanks for free bread products that mold OVERNIGHT!
I'd rather BEG! Or go to a soup kitchen!!
WITH? do you do with money contributions!!#? Buy cereal???
Or.....

I never thought I'd be in a position of needing support with keeping food on the table. I've been out of work due to injury and a long recovery process. Temporary disability hasn't come through yet and I'm out of options. Thank God for the generous donations from local grocers and residents.

Awesome. Extremely helpful to my family, always a very good amount of food available, and the people working there are always nice. Registration is easy you need a paystub/proof of income letter and an I'D, possibly a social security card. You only have to bring that the first time. Morris county residents only.

Great program to help people in need get food. The volunteers are kind and make their guests feel welcome. The staff work very hard and sometimes have to deal with very difficult situations and personalities. They are respectful to all their clients. Most food pantries only have canned foods but this pantry offer some fresh fruits and vegetables. They recently introduced a twice a month fresh produce pick up days. This is the best thing ever. Children need to eat healthy foods. So many people have health issues and need to eat healthier foods. Shoprite donates a lot of food so make sure to thank them. If you are donating food please think about healthy foods instead of only canned food (cheese, juice, eggs, milk, fruit, vegetables, fish and meat). Encourage Acme to donate fresh food as well. So much food get trashed by restaurants and grocery stores. It would be great if some of that went to people who are struggling.

The kindness & generosity can not be matched. They have helped me to be able to survive. I'm truly greatful.

The selection of food for a food pantry is a very good one. If you bring your own reusable shopping bags they treat you to extra specialty items. They have actual grocery carts to help you collect your items and bring them to your car.

The staff that helps you to pick out your items are volunteers. God Bless them. I truly appreciate their service.

About Interfaith Food Pantry

Interfaith Food Pantry: Providing Hope and Nourishment to Morris County Families in Need

Interfaith Food Pantry is a non-profit organization that has been serving the Morris County community for over 25 years. The organization's mission is to provide food, education, and resources to families in need, with the goal of inspiring confidence and hope. Through its network of community partners, Interfaith Food Pantry has become a vital resource for those struggling with food insecurity.

Food insecurity is a growing problem in America, affecting millions of people every year. According to Feeding America, one in nine Americans struggle with hunger. In New Jersey alone, over 900,000 people are food insecure. Interfaith Food Pantry recognizes the severity of this issue and works tirelessly to combat it.

The organization's approach is multifaceted - they not only provide food assistance but also offer educational programs that teach families how to make healthy meals on a budget. They also connect families with other resources such as job training programs and financial counseling services.

Interfaith Food Pantry operates out of two locations - one in Morristown and another in Parsippany - both of which are open several days a week for clients to pick up groceries. The pantry offers fresh produce, dairy products, meat, breads and canned goods as well as personal care items like soap and toothpaste.

One unique aspect of Interfaith Food Pantry's operations is their focus on client choice. Rather than pre-packaging bags or boxes for clients based on what they think they need or want them to have; clients are given the opportunity to choose their own groceries based on their family’s needs from an array of options available at the pantry.

In addition to providing direct assistance through its pantries; Interfaith also runs several outreach programs including mobile pantries that bring fresh produce directly into underserved communities throughout Morris County where access can be limited due transportation issues or lack grocery stores nearby.

Another program offered by Interfaith is "Healthy Choices", which provides nutrition education classes taught by registered dietitians who teach participants how make healthy choices when shopping for groceries while staying within budget constraints.

Interfaith’s impact extends beyond just providing immediate relief from hunger; it helps build stronger communities by empowering individuals through education about nutrition & cooking skills while connecting them with other resources available locally such as job training programs or financial counseling services so they can achieve long-term stability.

Conclusion:

Overall; Interfaith Food Pantry plays an essential role in addressing food insecurity within Morris County by providing not only nourishing meals but also educational opportunities that empower individuals towards self-sufficiency & long-term stability.
Their commitment towards client choice ensures dignity & respect while fostering trust between volunteers & recipients alike.
Through partnerships with local organizations & businesses along with dedicated volunteers who give generously time after time- this nonprofit continues making strides towards ending hunger one meal at a time!
