InterContinental Shanghai NECC Reviews

It is a very large exhibition hall with 8 halls divided into 2 floors. The facilities are clean and convenient to access as it is close to the airport.
Convenience facilities are gathered in the center connecting the exhibition halls, so it seems that the route is a bit complicated.

It is close to the airport, though it takes about 30 minutes by taxi. It is written that there is a shuttle bus to the airport, but I do not go to the international terminal! There are a variety of gyms within the acceptable range.

Very nice hotel with high quality services, breakfast for 10 and rooms for 9.

Nice hotel to stay, clean cozy. Give it a 4 star because they do not provide free breakfast for their platinum members but the breakfast is superb.

It is indeed Inter Continental. It should still be a luxury ... but it is mainly for the exhibition period. The traffic is still a little inconvenient There are no stores nearby.

Is a very big event, very well organized, considered world class

Location is not as shown in Google. See blue dot in the attached photo. Property is set in a huge Trade Show area - bit of a concrete jungle. 5min walk from Subway (Line 2). If you are savvy, find a map, and hike to the middle of the show complex, there are few restaurants - careful, some restaurants only accept paymebt by app - check first. Hotel bedding is one of the best in Shanghai (for the money). (2018) Hotel will give you only one room key, especially if you are a foreigner, regardless of IHG ststus.

I changed the room because the sink in the first room was blocked, but the front desk did not change it, so it took more than 30 minutes to check out and the meeting was late.
It's been 2 weeks since I went there, but the deposit has not been canceled and there has been no charge for accommodation.
Facility preparation management is too poor

Walking distance to the Convention Centre and it is perfect if not the closest to the Centre. Good room size, large comfortable bed and quiet. Location is the best if you come here for the shows at the NECC. The breakfast, buffet dinners and all hotel restaurants are expensive during exhibition dates however the quality is top. Need to travel by car or 10 or 15 minutes to get daily convenience and see a bit of China in the next immediate towns as this location is very isolated. (Except this location is closer to a tourist spot 'watertown Zhujiejiao' so it might worth a trip West instead of East to Pudong) Bear in mind this is a hotel built specifically to be close to the NECC.

Lovely hotel near the exhibition center in Shanghai as well as Hongqiao airport. 10min walk to Xu Jing East station

Location is right next to Shanghai NECC, convenient to attend tradeshows. Hongqiao area is not as vibrant as Pudong.
This hotel is relatively new, clean and spacious. Staff is courteous but not many can converse English.
Room is clean and spacious, comfortable however the bed is too soft and sunk at the middle. Not so good for firm bed sleepers.
Breakfast is elaborate enough for all. Not many restaurants around.

Go very tired because every time you go to the fair, you lose weight

The National Convention and Exhibition Center Shanghai Intercontinental Hotel is located in the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) and is the only luxury brand hotel in the center. The hotel is only 5 kilometers from Hongqiao International Airport and Hongqiao Railway Station. It is adjacent to Rail Transit Line 2 and Line 17, which provides easy access to all major Shanghai business districts. Guests can also explore the local culture with easy access to Qibao Ancient Town, Jiangnan Ancient Town Zhujiajiao, Hongqiao Tiandi and Qingpu Outlet Square. With a total of four distinctive restaurants and bars and over 2,200 square meters of spacious and flexible banquet venues, the hotel is ideal for high-end meetings, large banquets and dream weddings.

The only thing going for this hotel is it s close proximity to the NECC. Most staff
cannot communicate with very little or no English. Concierge was rude and unhelpful when asked for guidance.

We paid top dollar to stay in a deluxe room with Club access however the afternoon tea and refreshments were horrible.

Restaurants within the hotel are average with food coming out at different times to each of us with some finishing their meal before others received theirs. We provided feedback and was provided a discount and a plate of fruit as an apology from the staff however let s hope our feedback is taken on board.

I would most definitely look to other options next time when travelling for business and possibly book another hotel close by.

Great place for exhibitions. Eatery different there and stuff. All that is needed.

Fantastic hotel, very friendly and welcoming staff, room was clean and well appointed, good bar, cafe and restaurants onsite. Highly recommend.
