This hotel was undergoing some renovations so there was a makeshift reception area. The person checking us in was kind of curt. The rooms were small and the bathroom was very cramped. The breakfast buffet was nice with wide selection. The location was pretty convenient, only a short walk from the metro station. Overall it was underwhelming and I would probably try another hotel if I am in Budapest again.
The lobby is five-star, five-star, but the room is a bit small. It may be the smallest room among all Intercontinental.
The hotel is perfectly located by the Danube and for the rooms that have the view it is an amazing sight. The design is a bit old, but overall clean and nice. The staff was friendly. Overall the experience was a positive one. The only disappointing thing was that the swimming pool was closed the day I was there.
I could recommend Sunday Brunch for everyone. Variety of dishes are large and all tastes fantastic. There is special attention for your children so you can enjoy the lunch without any disturbance.
The food tasted quite fine, however, service was a little too bad! You waited for her food for an hour and a half. Slightly expensive drinks.
The location is right on the Danube River. It is very convenient to go to the city or take a boat trip to the Danube. The river view room also has a Buda Castle and a great restaurant. However, when checking in, take the credit card and pass the card. Generally, the registration is not paid by the card first, but the hotel has not paid the HUF 20000 guarantee fee. The procedure is not the same as the general hotel.
Sensational hotel with a brilliant view from the windows :) Very comfortable, clean, spacious rooms. Very comfortable beds. Superb service. Breakfasts - a large selection and tasty. Omelets prepared on request. Also fantastic service. Fitness club open 24 hours a day. Well equipped (lots of modern equipment). It's definitely worth it.
Great location and amazing view from the room. The rooms are a bit dated but nice. There are rooms with connecting doors. The breakfast is amazing with a very big variety.
Wonderful river view to grasp the most beautiful Budapest no matter the day scene or night scene.
One of my absolute favorite hotels Great view of Danube, castle, Bastei u chain bridge, close to Vaci ut. Very friendly and courteous reception. Room well equipped. Rich breakfast buffet Only the music in the bar is a little too loud, because the room contains the reception and not everyone wants to listen.
River view rooms overlooking the Buda castle have probably the most impressive hotel room views I've seen in my life!
My stay at the Intercontinental Budapest was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone. The views are breathtaking, its centrally located to all the top tourist sites and several restaurants. The staff were all extremely nice and welcoming and helped with every question I had. I would love to come back some time soon.
One of the best hotels in Budapest. Its location is awesome. Facilities are superb. Staff is very helpful . Rooms are modern and well equipped.
Fantastic location and views of the river. Hotel rooms are a little dated and small but comfortable.
Amazing! Perhaps best of all is the location and views
Amazing. First-class place. The waiters, not the waiters, but very friendly and sincere guys. Dinner, breakfast, coffee - do not get pierced anywhere
I stayed during the Christmas holidays. I paid over $1600.00 for 3 nights! I certainly don't mind paying but I want what I paid for. The hotel is outdated but I could get past that, if the room I was in, had some kind of appeal to it but it did not. It was a suite booked well in advance and apparently, this is what they have for suites. A normal hotel room, like a Best Western kind of a room, split in half to with a rock hard couch and desk on the opposite side of the half wall. No real space in the sleep area except for the bed. What really disturbed me, was the bathroom. It was like taking a shower in a old time phone booth. Plastic slide doors that didn't fully meet, leaking out the sides of the booth, soaking the floor. The sink area was just that, a sink like you would have in a half bath. No counter space and then there was a separate tub. The lighting was terrible and kept blinking until one of the lights went out. The cleaning service, never bothered to get it changed. A manager came to the room to apologize about the leaking shower and said she would have someone come to fix it. The guy came and packed it with caulking but the next morning, the bathroom still flooded. The only thing I can honestly say is, the view was beautiful. The food was great and so was the concierge. Other than that, pay the regular room rate, not the suite rate otherwise, you will be disappointed!! I also have the Ambassador status and should have paid only for the regular room rate and been upgraded to a "suite" but, I didn't know this. The hotel was only too happy to take advantage of my ignorance and charged me the "suite rate". When I brought this to their attention, they refused to do anything about it and basically told me, too late. I won't stay here again because I felt the customer service experience in regards to the room issues and the overcharges, was extremely poor. I don't believe it's right to basically take advantage of a guest and charge in excess of 400.00 per night, because they didn't know, their membership would allow for the lesser rate.
We spent close to a week in budapest and enjoyed the hotel immensely. We just loved it's view from our room, it has large-size rooms and very clean. You can enjoy the pool too. This hotel is the best to experience budapest.Location is just perfect - close to public transportation and Vaci utca. Just a 10-minute walk to museums and concerts.
It was as good as expensive. There is a coffee machine in every room, and some smooth slippers in Europe. One thing I was embarrassed was that there was no comb ... The buffet was okay.
Awesome views, but you can hear your neighbour. Also needs a refurbishment.
Had an amazing experience when I stayed at the InterContinental. We had a great room that faced the Danube and had turn down service every night (which I highly recommend). After a long day of exploring the city, it feels so good to come back to a room that is cozy and ready for bed. They have a beautiful patio for breakfast and the lobby is beautiful as well. A lot of great amenities.
Nice place with beautiful view from the window. The service was excellent
This luxury hotel overlooks the Danuve River. Excellent staff service in all areas. Excellent food and buffet style, 5 star hotel, highly recommended for those who want a luxury hotel.
One of the convention hotels. It's a bit far from oma tram
I enjoyed my short stay here very much. Super friendly staff without being intrusive. Clean rooms. Great breakfast buffet. The location in the heart of Budapest is of course ingenious and, together with the service provided, justifies the price.
Loved this hotel. The staff are amazing! Very helpful and informative. Answered our many questions. Take the car service at the hotel, it's much better priced than cabs on the street. Best location! If we go back definitely staying here again because of the location. My fiance also forgot his cell phone in the hotel cab on the way to the airport. The driver parked his car and waited until they were able to page us on the airport intercom( about 30 minutes) He really went above and beyond. Amazing and honest staff. Thanks again
Cozy, friendly staff and always available at any time! The friendly, professional, plan departments. Rooms and especially perfectly clean bathrooms.
Out of all the hotels we have stayed in, this one tops them all. Very friendly, very helpful, the best internet reception, with no extra cost for it, the best food! And a whole lot more. They have made our stay very pleasant!
Very unprofessional and inconvenient charge 10 percent of the service that is not in the account and you have not previously notified
Here only evaluation of the terrace! Super friendly staff, great Danube view, Extensive drinks menu ... Gladly again!
Located on the Danube River it is the perfect place to stay. Beautiful views of the river and the Chain Bridge. Lovely European elegant hotel with nice restaurant for meals. Also outdoor dining. Large bar and lounge area inside.
Nice place. Location ideal to walk to places of interest. Tram and bus station right in front of the hotel.
Everything in the cafe is delicious. I think he will not disappoint the regulars of the Intercontinental hotel chain. The views are beautiful in the evening. Yes, and did not disappoint during the day.
It was a wonderful hotel on the side of the Danube. A chain suspension bridge was seen nearby. Both the building and the room are very satisfied with the meals and services.
Great location, but this hotel is in dire need of a refurbishment. Everything feels very much after the 90s. And at these prices!
The history of our hotel building dates back to 1981, when it opened its doors to the traveling public as the Forum Hotel. Joining the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts chain since 1997,
Nice location overlooking the River, friendly welcoming staff, good sized, well equipped rooms with huge comfy bed and choice of pillows.
The hotel is very good, and the views from the rooms, at least mine, are wonderful (I think they all face the Danube).
Very nice hotel in the center of town. Very helpful reception and consierge. Nice bed and ok minibar. My room had bathtub and shower. Did not eat here but they made good drink's. Would like a ice machine on the floor.
Central hotel close to all places within walking distance to hotel service providers fine fine five star hotel no doubt
Nice and helpful staff, the cafe has a fantastic view in the evening.
Comfortable room with an excellent overview of the city room could be more spacious
My husband and I recently had a lovely stay here, we upgraded to the lounge and took full advantage of the happy hour and the beautiful canipes the lounge had to offer. The staff are excellent and the rooms are well appointed and nicely decorated. The hotel itself is situated in the heart of Budapest with views of the castle district and castle itself, which are just a short walk over the nearby bridge. As this is a city hotel food and drinks can seem a little pricey however we expected this and accounted for that. There are plenty of establishments close by where you can find cheaper meals and drinks however given the views that the hotel has to offer it was our preferred spot to relax after a long day of sightseeing.
