The first U.S. embassy in Pakistan was established on August 15, 1947 in Karachi, then-capital of Pakistan. When the capital was moved to Islamabad in 1960, a new embassy was constructed there. After being burned to the ground by extremists in 1979, security at the rebuilt embassy was heightened.[4] Security was again significantly increased in the wake of the September 11 attacks in 2001. On 9 August 2013, the United States State Department evacuated most diplomats and all non-emergency staff from the consulate in Lahore, and U.S. citizens were warned not to travel there due to terror concerns.[5]

In August 2015, a new embassy complex was inaugurated in the Diplomatic Enclave which would house the embassy, replacing the previous building. The complex was built at a cost of $85 million.[6]

After being rejected for about 6-7 times for a visit Visa my mamu got so depressed and he fainted in front of a truck after being refused again this morning.
He is on a ventilator and he broke both his legs and sustained head injuries.
He has his sister who is a US citizen from 20+ years and me his niece another US citizen here ..we are good citizens and tax payers and we couldn't fulfill one dream of our family member to visit US.
He is only 44 years old and definitely needs some prayers.

Not happy with their work,hell slow , info comes out from websites by submitting forms totally wrong.
They should start working fast or hire more people.

Online service is excelent but consular in mood if you have all docoment her wish to reject or accept.

I had Immigrant visa interview at USA embassy Islamabad, Pakistan. The team members working at the USA embassy Islamabad was really Professional and Kind. specially the consular lady officer was outstanding Professional and nice. I was need Pushto Interpreter which she provided to me. Which make my interview more easier to understand questions and answers.

Inside embassy they have a restrooms, tv, shop and more important is a comfortable and safe environment. The USA embassy team members deserve more than 5 stars. Thank you.

Best services and behaviour in Embassy.
Embassy staff only become wicked at traffic signals and roads of Pakistan.

Every office/embassy/organization have some rules and the all employees follow that rule. Now if u got visa u will rate it 5 stars snd if u did not get visa u will give 1 star and also say bla balaaa. If You complete all their requirments and also show confidence and prove your motivation and true purpose of your visa and also ensure them you will return bacl to your own country Pakistan, they will give you visa... 100 % . Some people never went out from city and direct apply for USA visa, this is rubbish. So as an organization US Embassy doing well. Many family memebers of our family went in proper way. No problem at all. So if you cannot get visa then please find that what wrong happened in your case.

Some people have never left the city to directly apply for a US visa, which is rubbish. So as a U.S. embassy, it is doing well. Many members of our family are acting in the right way. no problem. So, if you cannot get a visa, then please find out what went wrong in your case.

Embassy in Islamabad is very neat and clean. All the staff working in the Embassy is cooperative, soft-spoken and humble. You don't have to wait very long for your Visa interview.

I have applied for visitor visa for my inlaws and friends everyone got rejected for no reason all pappers were in proper order and documents were updated.i belive that american learnt from business tricks from pakistani people.they are just making money $ 160 for visting visa fee for one person and every day they had tons of people waiting in line out there!
Request to every one please dont waist your time and money.they are making us fool and showing us just day dreaming but no reality.SHAME ON YOU ANERICANS !!! #DavidHale

Worst customers service ever I thought embassy is there to help their citizens I am a us citizen I was there for my daughter citizenship but the interview officer at window 21 was very rude she was having bad day I guess after the interview I asked her another question about my already American citizen son social security number I ask her how can I apply she shut the window on me and said I'm done Also she won't let me ask other officer the same question she told security guy to tell me to leave I can't ask them another question I felt very disrespected for being American citizens I wonder how she treat local Pakistanis hope someone read my review and give her some better training about how to treat us citizen or others thanks .

I wanted to update my review as I have learned so much in my journey! I honesty feel that this embassy is under staffed and lacks the resources needed to assist with weeding through the tremendous amount of applications. If anything alarms them in your case whether it is a fault of yours or not they will refuse your visa. Please educate yourself above and beyond the requirements for a visa, take consult and helpful advice before submitting your case otherwise you could be up for a long journey and painful unfair process to be reunited with your loved one.

I went for interview but my visa was rejected my mistake I didn t understand 2 questions and I didn t ask him to repeat so I didn t give proper answers , for new application my advice don t buy executive pass buy normal pass You ll get there for interview be confident and always speak truth stay calm You ll get visa

I was interviewed for Visit Visa B1/B2 on Monday 09-4-2018. The Visa officer was Nice, friendly, Well mannered and Professional. I have been Granted Visa. So quick service that only after one day, on 11-4-18, I received my Passport back.

Amazing embassy, I'm proud of my country on how it handles it's citizens well being and takes care of it's citizens abroad, counselors are super cool. For the hate comments and bad reviewers you people should understand that you are close to or not at all eligble to visit the United States of America.

I found the staff at US embassy very professional and friendly . if you are appearing for visa interview there are staff available for urdu, English, Punjabi and pashto etc. So if you can't speak English it is not a hurdle to you. However if you are appearing for study visa you must prefer to appear the English language. That will give you a chance to present yourself in a better way to prove your ability to communicate in international language. Another important thing is that be yourself don't try to copy anyone or hide anything from the visa officer. Be very careful in listening and answering the questions.

Worst staff. They only want to hear fake stories. Visa depends on fake story, not your original documents. They will not see your documents.

Wow the US embassy in Islamabad is awesome! And since it's my first time visiting Pakistan from the United States I am pleased to say that the security staff is truly professional, friendly and elite. It has been a super exciting experience at the US consulate and visiting Pakistan was super fun!

Very well organised Embassy I like the newly built visa section even though old was good as well but it was congested.

Previous embassy set up (2011-2012) was good when one person used to go to the window for interview. Now everyone is waiting behind you in line while you are interviewing. There is a lot of distraction. Although this process is faster and you have to wait for less time. But I would prefer the previous setup.

Disappointed & devastated. These peep have power to make dreams come true for families or abuse their authority. Solid facts, not prejudicial bias, should be basis for their decisions to approve spousal visas. Unprofessional, rude mockery shouldnt be allowed.

Worst experience of my life. I'm a US citizen married to Pakistani. We applied for visa when we got married in Islamabad in 2014, embassy has refused to communicate on visa status, only tells us it's in "administrative processing" it's been three years! I don't know what to do...theses are definitely not true Muslims I can tell you this for certain. The wrath of Allah is on this place, the people are rude, poor, mean spirited and ignorant. I can't believe this is even considered a business.

I'm permanent resident in America,am pregnant and tried someone to get here on visit Visa so I can get some help.my husband tried my parents tried even my in laws tried nobody gets the Visa the embassy people are not even checking the documents and just rejecting visas, I need to know why?

Visa consular officer was too much in hurry, no listening to answer and no time to speak, didn't see any documents, too bad experience

Hi guys, I had reply two times for medical treatment visa (B2) I have all my supporting documents , invitation as well as bank statement. I had 100 percent authentic documents.
But I don't know why they refused.

Well Us embassy islamabad won't deserve 1 star.If I can give 0 star I would one of worst embassy in this whole universe.they lie about me that I got married twice they don't have any proofs that I married twice without proofs they deny my visa and I was just 25 years old when i give my interview in Us embassy and they put baseless objections on my immigrant visa.They are very very unprofessional and very rude and they think we are dying for their visa.Do not give interview in Us embassy islamabad.They put you in hell.They put my case in administrative processing for 9 months and after that they send to uscis for revocation.It's almost took 2 an half years to get the reasons of revocation.They are stone heart.They treat us like we are not human.If you think you will get the immigrant visa from this embassy forget about it.they are very sterotypes people working in the Us embassy.Do not waste your money and time on this cruel Us embassy.If my wife won't want me to come to usa.I don't care about your visa.I just want to be with my wife.God will punish you what you have done to me and to my wife.You all will feel the same pain of being apart from your loves one.Oneday by the grace of God.they are liars and I will curse you rest of my life to who revoke my petition.By the grace of God you will feel the same pain like I am feeling for 5 years now and so on.I won't forgive you for acussing me.I am crying to God and I let God punish you.He will give you the great punishment by the grace of God for abusing your power on innocents.

I wish I can give them a half a star they are the worst people on this earth who doesn't have a heart, my husband visa was denied twice from this embassy I would have never imagine this will happen the second time around. Is there any way we can complain about this they take people money and don't give us the respect to even consider getting to the bottom of any thing they just deny you like it's nothing, while they live their lives with there families, wives, and kids it's disgrace how they treat us like we are less then dogs. If there is someone I could complain to I will be the first in line standing up for people rights. to this embassy but they have to remember everyone has to answer to a hire power an Allah is the highest of them All.

The Embassy has fully renovated and reconstructed. The biggest and well organized Embassy in Diplomatic Enclave. I have seen many other Embassies but no match with this one. I'd not comment about Visa policy here.
