INESC TEC is a leading multidisciplinary Associate Laboratory that has been at the forefront of research and development for over 30 years. The organization is internationally-oriented, with a focus on innovation, technology transfer, and collaboration with industry partners.

The laboratory was founded in 1985 as INESC (Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering) by a group of researchers from the University of Porto. Since then, it has grown into one of the most respected research institutions in Portugal, with a team of over 800 researchers working across multiple disciplines.
