The starting pay is good but some departments have a huge turnover rate. The department i was in had over 60 employees since 2012. This is huge considering that the department usually has a maximum of 7 people. Some quit, most are fired at whim by the owner. There are pretty unreasonable expectations to hire drivers when the advertising is not there to support the amount of drivers needed. The average length of employment there for the department i was in is abysmal.

Driver didnt slow for a yellow light, my light turned green and the truck wasn't even halfway through the light. That means he/she should have stopped. Then the driver proceeded to drive 15 MPH in a 45 MPH zone.

some of the laziest drivers to ever come to our facility! the very few that are willing to get out there truck get unloaded easily and on time, but when every driver that come to our plant hooks up to there Truck while the one receiver runs around except you guys cause apparently it'd not "your job" or I'm "just a driver" like fine then I'm "just a receiver" so when your late I will not help another indian river he/ she can sit until they get a new appointment time made!

Booked 2 loads with these people. Everything is good to go and we were all set for pickup until 30 minutes prior to the cut off time at the shipper. I get an email from "JJ" simply saying "no capacity" after having it on the books for several days. He then proceeds to hang up on me when I called multiple times and simply refused to respond to any emails asking when he would be able to pick up. I've worked in the freight business for more than 10 years and can honestly say this is the first time I've felt the need to leave a negative review. I've never dealt with a more unprofessional company in my life.

The reality is that every company has it's ups and downs. And in a imperfect world it really bottoms down to the dispatchers working with your needs. Let's face it,sometimes we want to roll n put in miles and sometimes we have appointments and personal obligations to meet and need to be home.
In my 2.5 years experience working for IRT
I have to say that roughly 90 % of the time they (dispatch) work with me on trying to get me back home when I need to.
And no we don't get paid for live load/unload but the ppm is respectable and for me that's good enough. I won't get mad if they give me a raise tho.lol.
But really, I'm glad to be here bcuz this company has turned out to be a blessing to my family and I. Hope this was helpingful.
