Nice neighborhood, rooms were nice but outdated, we went for our 5th anniversary and got woken up at 2: 30 in the morning by the fire alarm going off. While trying to go downstairs we couldn't find an 3xit that wasnt the elevators. Not happy about that. 5th floor has major safety issues. Extremely dangerous since we looked for about 15 minutes. If it were a real fire we wouldn't have made it. When we finally got downstairs there were a bunch of people that weren't even staying at the hotel, they snuck in and were being loud and rude. They pulled the alarm.

My room, 384, had peeling paint by the window my 2 year old was picking at, carpet unraveled coming up by the closet, and mold in the bathroom grout. Not to mention the stains on the carpet in the front atrium area. Price may be ok but hotel is disgusting.

We stayed two nights Fri and Sat in room 208. We wished the bar was open a little longer and prefer that food would be served in the evening. However their policy on having food delivered was very accommodating. We enjoyed our room as well as the view.

We have had many memorible times w friends for years. Staff is warm and friendly, rooms are great. Surprised that the restaurant this new years at 7pm was out of three of five choices of menu. More disturbing was the waiter did not know prior to taking our order twice!

Closest you ll get to staying in what I thought was Stanley Kubrick s Overlook Hotel in The Shining.
The 270-acre resort is said to home a 27-hole golf course, Spa, tennis court, mini golf course, banquet and meeting space, business center, stunning Shiraz on the Water restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools, ballroom, gym, two bars, fitness center, and multiple department stores. The official site neglects to add that almost all of those cool features haven t been accessible since the 80 s. Hence your stay consists of feeling stuck; the hotel s surrounding structures are empty and mostly abandoned.

What a crazy place this turned out to be. We had reasonablely high expectations cuz we booked through Prxxcelxxe and usually the properties are spot on. Well we got there at 12:30 AM on a Sunday night. As I was walking in two Police officers were walking out. Humm,..I thought...make note of that. Usually Sunday nights are quiet where ever I go. Must be something going on. Checked in,...off to bed....no worries. Next day Noon,.. my phone goes off....the police have one of my vehicles surrounded in the parking lot. (Yes 7 cruisers 10 officers) The officers are saying something wrong with my plates (Michigan). I know dang well there is nothing wrong with my plate cuz I just transferred a few days ago at the Secty of State in MI. Well after much hub-bub they check my plates and see its all in order. The situation deescalates and they use the plate thing as a ruse to search the car....no big deal...Officer Jaines gives one of my guys John a $200 fine for civil infraction. Now John was ran over by a semi truck doing 50MPH when he was 17...3 of his H.S. buddies died thay day. John was the only survivor. PTLord 700 Club did a segment on him and the Lord and prayers pulled him thru. There is a reason John is still with us today. John is legal card carring Med Mar User with 2 sets of documents from Michigan. Med Mer just became legal in Illinos in April of 2018... Officer Jaines took his meds and gave him a 200 fine. From there on out the police hover around our conspicuous vehicles for the next four or five days....we look around and we see the cruzer sitting within sight everywhere we go... at the restaurants...the gas stations..Meijers...ect... It turns out the Officer Zigler told me thst the Indian Lakes Hotelis in decline and they spend an inordinate amount of time there EVERY WEEKEND. The longer we were there the more we saw. The ambulance came out 2x....one time it looked like possible OD... The police approached my vehicle/guys two more time while they were setting in the van smoking cigarettes....(you can't smoke in the rooms...so they go out and sit in the car and smoke)....one of the long time residents @ Indian Lakes Hotel said one weekend the police tackled him in the parking lot. And for me personally,....I got creeped out by the police on our fourth and last night....this place is noted for its large and fancy indoor swimming pool...I had been there 4 days and still had not looked at it....it was always full with swimmers and me knowing I wasn't gonna go swimming never went down to look at it. So we finish up our job about 1AM...and I'm thinking this would be a good time to look at the pool as I know it is locked up for the night since 10PM and no one would be in there to bother. So I get out of my car and walk up the gentle slope and take a glance in the empty pool...turn and head down the slope to head to my room.....the whole whole walk/look/and turn takes less than 90 seconds...as I turn toward the front door I notice the black unmarked crusier has pulled up behind me....what a laugh....as if I'm some pepping tom....heck I knew it was empty...no possible chance of any voyerisim..etc...it was just creepy that I was approached with in 45 sec of me walking up to the pool exterior....We decided that there must be ALOT MORE going on at this hotel. We began to call the place "Hotel California" for that famous line "you can check in anytime you want...but you can never leave". The police are intent on arresting at least 1 person here every weekend...the more arrested the better...more money in fees and fines for the city of Bloomingdale. Save yourself some grief and book in Carol Stream as we finally did....good luck to fellow travellers. Just tellin' it the way it was.

Dirty carpeting throughout hotel. When I reported it they wanted to wait until I checked out until I insisted. Sheets had blood stains on them. First staff that I checked in with was not very helpful or forthcoming with information about hotel or area. Other staff were pleasant and much more helpful. Gift shop was next to nothing, thankfully there is plenty of shopping in the area. Rooms were large and pool area was large but again...very dirty!
Breakfast was next to nothing and they kicked you out right at closing even if you were in the middle of eating.
Would not recommend. Only gave second star because of staff and area. This hotel was not worth the cost.

If you're looking for a reasonably priced, decent hotel in this area (NW suburbs), it's a good choice for your dollar. No microwave in the room, but otherwise, the room is very nice.

Pool is amazing for being a hotel and not a resort. It's indoor, open year round, is LARGE for being a hotel pool, and the jacuzzi is HUGE too, hot and extremely relaxing.

Continental breakfast is really lacking but you can't expect too much with a free Continental.

This place is a MESS! Granted the rooms are good just old carpet. However, it s no good lighting. I couldn t even do my make up. It s no little make up mirror on the table. I could ve done my make up standing @ the mirror closet door but it s no light right there. When you walk in, it smells like it flooded and they re trying to dry the carpet with these fans. This guy was cleaning the carpet lol @ least trying to & it still smells. This place needs new carpet throughout the whole Hotel. It looks like no one cleans the windows @ all. Don t come here.

My sister and I brought 2 of her children here for the night. We tried to find vending machines (none) and the arcade which is posted on a map in the hallway (is gone). There is no restaurant either. The halls and our room smell mildewy/moldy but the room and bathroom is nice despite the smell. We were talking about finding the arcade when we got our pizza Hut order from the front desk and the girl just looked at us and didn't even say that there is not one here. The pool and hot tub were good other than it was Pretty crowded and there were no pool towels. There was a drunk couple sitting at the water fountain next to the bar fighting about a phone;as we walked back she was pulling her pant legs up and walking in the fountain. There are also probably 20-30 high school maybe even middle school aged, children walking around talking about parties and making out/fooling around in the halls. I don't see that any renovations have been done or are currently in the process. For the price it was "OK". They need to give the guests directions to their rooms and tell them there's only 1 lot to park in and one way to get in. Today is February 24, 2018. We will see how breakfast goes in the morning if in fact there will actually be a breakfast.

I had left my necklace there and called to see if they found it. They returned with a call that said they did and it would be in a safe ready for me to pick up. I returned to pick it up and they said it was gone. The low rating is for their employee who decided to steal it from me. Karma comes around a-hole

From the entrance you can tell this hotel needs lots of work and renovations. Parking lot needs work, atrium's water fountain was dirty (green), our room's carpet and cealing was stained pink, there was cake frosty on our bathroom door, there was mold in our bathroom's tub, no room service and most importantly they were NOT enforcing the covid-19 distancing orders. When we got to the pool there was more then 80 people enclosed in a small space. The hotel staff did not have any type of organization, monitoring or consern for the past things mentioned. There was loud music in the entrance at 9:30pm and also groups of people smoking by our cars. Overall I felt really unsafe and also disgusted with the hotel. We left the same night that we arrived.

Beautiful pool with water slide and spa, professional and attentive staff. Clean and well maintained rooms, the hotel smells good and is very big. There is a simulation of Amazonian forest inside it is very interesting to walk there. The outdoor restaurant era is accessed through an underground tunnel, and there is a mini hotel arcade. Perfect for group trips.

An architecturally incredibly great hotel, the rooms clean and decent, but the rest of the hotel (the public parts) in catastrophic condition !!!! All spanned carpets horrible and disgusting dirty, very few guests, at 19 o'clock the hotel is really "spooky" .... ghostly. The house must have once been a very, very good, but has its high time, unfortunately, long behind and needed URGENT a general renovation !!!!!! I hope very much, there is soon a potent investor, who awakens this special hotel from his slumber. It would be a shame to see this design gem from the 1970s ......

I checked in really late and the main parking lot is very poorly lit. There is also no clear walk way from the lot to the main entrance. The hotel is undergoing renovations but it was rather run down. Hallway carpet was stained, room had a musty smell, toilet kept running and coffeemaker was busted. Staff was nice but other than that, I wouldn't stay here again.

We were looking for a nice place to celebrate our anniversary without breaking the bank. Under $100 for a Saturday night stay! Mission accomplished! Although the place is older and a little outdated it is still a very nice hotel. The staff is friendly and professional. We were pleasantly surprised. That being said there were areas of the property that needed attention and repair but overall a good value and we'll be back.

This seems to be an older resort turned hotel. The pool was great and staff was pleasant.

There was a production crew on site to film for a movie while we were there, so things were a bit congested in the lobby area. However, the hotel was a great choice for my family no matter what was going on in the lobby. It was even kind of fun watching them set up from the large windows in the room.

We will definitely stay here again on our next trip in the area.

Beautiful big Hotel, big swimming pool, nice rooms...

Beautiful big Hotel, big swimming pool, nice rooms, great friendly service staff. It's a nice place to go to with the Family. They have a large pool, Gym, Business Center, Game room, Conference rooms, and a nice bar called The Cave. Downfall I see is that they need to touch up some spots with paint, replace a couple ceiling tiles here and there, replace or deep clean carpets that's are heavily stained, update Microwaves. The biggest down for me and a couple of other guest that were talking to me was the Breakfast option, it was by far a sad looking Breakfast. I mean when you're paying anywhere from $70-$150 per night you would expect to get a good Breakfast. Option were Apples, Bananas, beagles, bread, mini muffins, pastries mini doughnuts, yogurt, milk, coffee, and orange juice... Other places have all that plus Eggs hard boiled and scrambled, Sausage, Bacon, waffles, apple juice, and their price could range from $50-$100 per night. I gave Indian Lakes 4 stars only because I can't do 3 1/2 but they have the potential to be a 5 if they take care of the rest. I've attached some pictures so you can see the place. Please let me know what you think.

My first experience and it was the worst. The building is ran down, it smells through the entire hotel, and the parking lot is dark. Then the power went off and stayed off for hours and they have the nerve to hold a 50 dollar accidental room fee. What a joke!!! I will never ever come here again not recommend to anyone I know. Wish I could get my money back. I m giving it a -10. Just horrible

I hope everyone reads this before they go to this hotel. This hotel was nasty! When you first get there the lobby carpet is terribly stained and old. The entire hotel is old and out of date. The rooms had black mold around the windows!!!! No one wears a mask! When we went to the pool it was nice but the water was cloudy which seemed strange to me.. after we left all three of my children had an ear infection!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trust me I can not make this up....Please stay away from this hotel from hell.. leaving on a positive note all the staff were very nice.

This is a nice get away place for couples and families. This location seems to be in a transition so the pics on the website are deceiving. It needs some updates. However don't let that keep you away. I love the real plants growing in the lobby. It's like sitting in a rain forest without the animals . The staff are friendly. It's also located near communities for shopping. They have a pool that is also lined with plants. That no liner have a spa and the mini golf course is closed for now. Worth a visit on a discount rate.

A very unique property that you will either love or hate. Rooms are not typical rectangular in shape so there are some interesting angles that make the space seem small in spots yet larger in others. The decor is a bit dated. Lobby carpet NEEDS replacing. There is a large atrium with a waterfall and bar plus plenty of room to relax all over the property. One south tower elevator was not in service and the hallways are narrow. Still a neat place to check out.

Very unique architecture. Dated property but charming in a retro 80's way - think Space Mountain at a Disney park and you'll know what I mean. Seems well-maintained but look closely and you know the facility is going on 40-50 years old. Hotel, rooms, and pool area are hexagonal in shape with long and winding angular hallways. Lots of areas for curious wanderers to discover. The interior atrium with the grotto style "underground" bar and foliage throughout is going to be totally renovated into a much more contemporary but very bland space by Summer 2018. I'm sad to see the distinctive features going away (golf course closed permanently in 2016) but the upcoming rebranding to DoubleTree and $5M in improvements to the hotel and spa will definitely help. Rooms are clean and roomy but reflect an earlier era. Parking lot is a short walk away from the main building, which means someone will get wet or trudge through snow during inclement weather. This is a good value for the outer Chicagoland suburbs, especially if you get a rate under $90/night. On site restaurant is pricey especially for room service, but I don't stay here for the food.

Room was clean, nice view from the 5th floor.Hotel was clean. Indoor pool was nice. My wife enjoyed the hot tub. Its sad that the outdoor pool and mini golf course are not used and look deserted. Same with the full size golf course. That being said the place was booked solid.

Hot tub was way to hot and some many kids unattended. Pool was freezing. Some really drunk people in pool. They need signs to the pool too many people confused. It's a country mile to pool. Bed was hard. It was ok but they charge you 50.00 when you check in for damages but you then have to wait 3 to five businesses days to get refunded. They had one check in person. The price is terrible I dont know how they consider themselves a resort. I probably wont stay again.

I give it a 3 star because the manager was great..think her name was christa...she was very pleasant and accommodating! The part that soured the trip was the super rude bartender at the cave bar. He ignored us when we wanted to order drinks...refused to take a group picture when asked..mind you there were 4 people in the bar when we walked in... He never smiled and pretty much told us to leave because he was closing at 10 on a friday...there was 20 of us...besides the large groups of kids running through the halls unattended the rooms were nice...just need more towels when they clean the rooms...some of the family had mold in their tub area...some no hot water..and others their heat/ac didnt work...over all... You get what you pay for...we enjoyed being able to spend time in the gathering area without being pestered...that was a huge plus!

The pictures are great. It probably once was a really upscale hotel....however, there s a reason Hilton has severed ties with the property. The golf course is being made into a 55+ community. The restaurants and bars were all closed when I was here. Unfortunately, the worst was my room has mold growing from the window frame on two of the floor to ceiling windows.

I had really hoped this place was going to be better. 20 years ago, I imagine it was incredible. How sad...

This hotel is a former golf resort, presently awaiting remodeling and reconditioning. As such, it has a dated, almost haunted, feel to it. The rooms are spacious and unique. Prices for room service and the bars and restaurant have not been updated from its days as a golf resort, and as such are a bit too high. There are ghosts of amenities everywhere. Shadowed empty rooms that used to be conference rooms or game rooms, glimpsed uncertainly through dark smoked glass. But I didn't stay here to stay at a resort, I stayed here because it was 110 a night in a good location central to other things I wanted to do, and as a hotel it's a decent one. The layout of the place is utterly unique and would make an amazing map for a first person shooter game like Counter Strike or Call of Duty. Have a scenario where peace talks are being held here and they get disrupted by terrorists or something. The counter terrorists fight their way through the central atrium, the underground tunnel to the restaurant, the winding sharp cornered hallways. It also seems like the place was designed to confound evil spirits who only move in straight lines and live in room with four sides. All in all, a very unique and interesting place to stay.

Almost amazing. Especially if you get the room for 50$ or under. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is super friendly, the indoor pool is a nice perk and very well kept and decorated. Best of all is the overall atmosphere of the place. It's like a miny indoor theme park or like a little movie set of an interior with a lush garden/forgotten jungle kinda vibe. They even have a cave themed bar in the lobby. Unfortunately the place seems a bit out of date The elevators were broken when we went and had to take the stairs, which was fine. But the first room we were given was inaccessible so we had to walk back down and get a second room. The cave bar was also unfortunately closed but looked neat from I could see. Definitely worth a stay if you need an affordable getaway in the burbs.

Our experience from two nights stay (11/22-24/2019) is nothing but way above expectations! Absolutely 5 star experience!!!
Upon arrival front desk lady was welcoming, friendly and helpful with smile on her face. Parking is very convenient, securely lighted from back corner and absolutely free. (Later on we noticed we can see our car safely parked from one of our rooms window on fifth floor).
When we first time entered room we were very pleasantly surprised how nice, clean and big our room was.
We attended indoor swimming pool area since it was open till 11. Again with little worries that water will be cold. Wooow, just as we opened swimming pool room doors there was warm vapor comming from water. Pool was large, on one side 10 deep and water nicely warm. There was also hot spa. Indoor Pool area includes many chairs and tables, free towels and separate male and female locker rooms with restrooms and showers. Pool opens at 6 AM.
First night we ran into little problem when discovering that to-go boxed food we brought in with us from mid town was missing plastic silverware. Night shift front desk lady was nice and with pleasant smile she handed me couple sets of plastic silverware.
Free Breakfast was limited but served it s purpose, as we got hungry after 1 hour of swimming. Hot tea, coffee, milk or orange juice to choose from to drink. Pastry, bagels, toast, yogurt, jelly, butter. Bananas, cereal. I m good with that. On Saturdays and Sundays served from 7, other days from 6.
Housekeeping did great job freshening room mid day, even changing our bed sheets. From night one to night two.
Again, everyone was quite professional, friendly, nice and welcoming. We were amazed and will be back next time we are visiting town. Thank you!!!
5 stars!!!!!!

My friend and I stayed here for our first visit to Chicago absolutely no regrets! The staff was super friendly along with the security guy. Free continental breakfast which is always great! They have a cute little cave bar inside that just ads more sparkle to the place, they have an indoor pool which comes in handy when it s freezing outside. The outside area was nice and tide with gooses walking around which was the highlight of our day! Definitely recommend a stay here to anyone thats in town! Only about a 30 minute drive from downtown Chicago. The rooms are super spacious and very clean which is always a big PLUS!

The absolute worst staff imanginable. Stayed for 10+ days. Zero structure. Sometimes delivery drivers can come to the room other times they can't. Ignorant front desk staff aside from maybe one or two people. Trash for breakfast. Water damage all over the hotel. Mold on the picture by the hot tub (that they try to cover with duct tape), never any towels at the pool either. Absolutely less than the three star rating is gets as an average. Total trash carpet all over the hotel. And did I mention how terrible the front desk staff is!? Lee the GM is a total liar and will say anything to get himself away from a situation. STAY AWAY FROM HERE. GO TO EAGLE WOODS.

Had a great time here. Stayed over Christmas so it is hard to judge how it would be to stay under normal circumstances. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Great for families. We really liked the indoor pool. Had a small lapse in service (why I rated 4 stars instead of 5) but I really think it just had to do with the skeleton crew on Christmas day and would not affect our decision to stay here again.

Very nice hotel, beds were very comfortable. However, I would recommend eating off site, the service was slow, the food was too expensive for just being typical, nothing special. Great hotel, just make sure you've had a snack beforehand if you decide to check out their restaurants. That being said, their spinach artichoke dip was a highlight and very good.
