The presence of a college in a community is always...

The presence of a college in a community is always a good one, with the purpose of educating and building the community. The newly elected president at Indian Hills is a good leader with good intentions. The leadership team however, is corrupt. As a result, staff members are subjected to mistreatment and unfair behavior and practices. Promotions are given based on personal preference, how well you are liked by those with the ability to make changes, and who you know. Team effort and support is also lacking when assigned duties need to be accomplished, which requires contribution from other staff members across campus. This is not reflective of all staff members however, as there are a few that do more than their fair share and are willing to work.
The resouces and education available to students are comparable to other colleges in the area. After talking to community members, I have learned that the reputation of the college is not the best. Good leadership sets the foundation for a good business. Since this is lacking at Indian Hills, the college will not be able to maintain a positive image in and around the community, until and unless changes are made within the leadership team.

The professors are awesome but Indian Hills is too...

The professors are awesome but Indian Hills is too overpriced! The dorms are super expensive and not worth it. I had to share a bathroom with half of the floor and it was always gross. The hallways echo so you can hear everyone coming and going all night long. Laundry is also a joke. There was 2 washers and 2 dryers for our whole floor and they were ALWAYS broken. I had to take my laundry 50 miles home to do it.

This place is horrible. The dorms have cockroaches, a really bad infestation of cockroaches!! They have outdated elevators that should have been replaced years ago, they are just now replacing one of them. They would get stuck, open with no elevator in which someone could have been severely injured, one even caught on fire. Then now two of which I have seen of the washing machines are broken so some of us cannot do our laundry. The bathrooms are rather filthy. The parking lots need repairs badly. I have been treated poorly by numerous people including a professor who forced me and a friend to drop out of her class. That professor also called my friend a distraction because he is bisexual. The food in the cafeteria isn't the best. I honestly find this place a waste of time and money. It's not even worthy of being called a college.

My daughter is a student there and is having health issues. She is having to come home. They are charging her $600 and keeping her $500 deposit! It s not like she just quit, she has documented health issues and must come home for better treatments!!

Probably the worst experience of my life. It s tak...

Probably the worst experience of my life. It s taken a solid 6 years to undo the trauma I endured there. Not only was I assaulted by a fellow student who, because of their actions, is now a felon, the college deemed it okay to allow them to continue to study on-site while I remained a resident in the dorms. I literally had a restraining order on this person and, to me, it seemed the college chose profit over protection on my behalf.

While studying Radiologic Technology, after having played for their collegiate soccer team, I was asked to take a hiatus for a year and return to my program-specific studies because a drug test came back positive for among other things (read MARIJUANA) my prescription medication. No follow-up drug test was performed and following the only meeting I had with my teachers and department head, the Policy and Procedures Manual was revised the next day. Furthermore my fellow students were emailed a new drug policy amendment and asked to sign and fax back to the college literally the next day. A student athlete testing positive for drugs with no follow-up?

During my appeal I spoke out about the rampant cheating that was going on throughout the Radiologic Technology program. My appeal was immediately arrested until I could prove my allegations about cheating. Once I provided more than adequate proof of cheating within the program, those individuals involved were allowed to not only continue in the program, but given special treatment and allowed to retake a Physics course so they could graduate without having to take a hiatus. I can only imagine it was in an attempt to keep their graduation success rate.

While taking proctored exams at the college s secure testing facility I was flunked from said Physics course because I failed to adequately show my surroundings with my webcam. Those surroundings were, I kid you not, being watched not only by several security cameras, but also by the proctor who checked to make sure I only had the administered #2 pencil and paper they provided.

Emotionally and physically bruised, beaten, and battered I was permanently removed from the program because I violated their, guess what, Policy and Procedures which stated if an individual fails a course twice they are no longer permitted in the program.

I have also been banned from the program-specific Facebook page for speaking out and trying to give voice to the trauma I endured, I a recipient of their Skeleton Crew Scholarship. Let it be known that I provided numerous letters of recommendations from clinic heads, former students now practicing technologists, and professors from the college asserting how great an asset I would be to the healthcare profession as a whole to no avail. Lastly, none of the program-specific courses I took at the college transfer, so in order to become a Radiologic Technologist I would have to start a program over again at a different college costing me tens of thousands of dollars in tuition.
