The presence of a college in a community is always...

The presence of a college in a community is always a good one, with the purpose of educating and building the community. The newly elected president at Indian Hills is a good leader with good intentions. The leadership team however, is corrupt. As a result, staff members are subjected to mistreatment and unfair behavior and practices. Promotions are given based on personal preference, how well you are liked by those with the ability to make changes, and who you know. Team effort and support is also lacking when assigned duties need to be accomplished, which requires contribution from other staff members across campus. This is not reflective of all staff members however, as there are a few that do more than their fair share and are willing to work.
The resouces and education available to students are comparable to other colleges in the area. After talking to community members, I have learned that the reputation of the college is not the best. Good leadership sets the foundation for a good business. Since this is lacking at Indian Hills, the college will not be able to maintain a positive image in and around the community, until and unless changes are made within the leadership team.
