Horrible customer service. They make you wait 1-2 ...

Horrible customer service. They make you wait 1-2 hours for a call back. I made several calls to them to turn my electric back on but they said electric will be on the next morning but it is almost the end of the day and no one came by to turn it on. I never had a good experience when calling Illuminating.

Husband of 23 years walked out on his family. Nobody knows where he is. Electric bill was in his name . He had stopped paying the bills months before leaving . Nobody knew until the new bill came in the mail. He had been hiding them. Called Illuminating company to switch Electric out of his name and into mine so our family can survive the coming winter. . THEY REFUSED to switch service saying that husband was part owner of the house and his bill needed to be paid off before it can switch to anyone else. Leaving us with a shut off notice for 3 days from now . He had ruined the payment plan option so now we are stuck . Illuminating company REFUSES TO HELP.

I m not sure but it seems most of these reviews are overly emotional woman that are spouting their emotions and stomping their feet. I just hung up with Sarah from customer service and she was extremely helpful in navigating my billing questions. Thanks Sarah for your details and time!

No contact prior to turn off service and then show...

No contact prior to turn off service and then showed up 15 min before they close so I have to wait another day when it's extremely hot without air and medical conditions. Very unprofessional to not give time or a way to fix, especially if the last operator that helped me entered an incorrect email. Also, my bill seems like it is double what is was prior.

Horrible customer service not responsive , makes people wait almost 2-3 whole days to restore electricity from power outage. Can even hear me on phone pointless to have outomated telephone service and keep directing you to someone to help you. When I'm the end no one is available to help. Please do better Illuminating Company

This is my first time having a home that I needed to pay my lights and I come to find out that I have an outstanding account and no way of paying it and it s nothing they can do and my baby needs his feeding Machine

June- Power out. This is the worst power company Power goes out constantly.
July 2021- Well here we are a month later and power out again. It s been off for several hours now.
July 14- Power out again. This makes twice this month so far.
July 17- Power out again.
August 1-Power Out.

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST company ever! Their customer service sucks! I ve never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. They have no compassion and could care less about the people they serve. Absolute s*%t company who needs to rethink their way of helping their customers who pay them for their service. I wish there was another electric company in Ohio that we could go through because I d drop The Illuminating company in a damn heartbeat!

This company needs new management. The fish stinks from the head down. The company has a culture of being aggressive and dismissive with customers because they know they don't have any other options for electricity. Its as if they're looking for every way not to be helpful to customers.
