Food was OK. Limited menu and fresh baked bread was less than hoped for. Our main server was super snooty and quite unpleasant. Another server who actually brought out meals and resulted our drinks was polite and wonderful. But the main server had already fallen the experience by then. Also, as we were leaving employees looked post the first member of our party (female) to thank and farewell only the one male member of our party.

This combination store, wine bar and restaurant is charming, bustling and full of good eats. As you would expect, charcuterie, cheese and pastas are all top notch; try the busiate pasta with anchovies, capers and almonds! I was here for lunch, a head's up that it got pretty loud at times and service was on the slower side.

Really enjoyed this place. The staple pasta is a thicker version of spaghetti with a lot of pepper. It's the pasta I've been craving. The portion is small so be sure to order bread and the salumi. At least. There artichoke was good but over hyped. Wine list was also pretty lacking.

They do have a coat check despite being small and packed. Also side note, I made reservations and they still sat our two top at the bar. Not a lot of tables. This is more communal.

This is a sister restaurant of Il Buco. It's a more casual version of it, just as good. If not better. I had hamachi appetizer, steak and pans cotta with 10 year aged balsamic vinegar. Loved it all!

The food is fine, however, the service is consistently indifferent, bordering on hostile. On my most recent visit, they sat my septuagenarian parents and 31-week pregnant wife at a communal booth that was so awkwardly shaped that it was literally difficult for them to sit down. Moreover, once squeezed into the booth, the organization of the table prevented (1) conversation, (2) service, and (3) the ability to leave one's seat to access the bathroom. When I mentioned to the host that they should warn people that they are reserving a seat at a shared table, she replied "most of our tables are communal." As I walking out swearing to myself that I would never return, I overheard a guy interacting with a host say, "Oh yeah, I remember why I never come here, I hate these people." Pretty much sums it up.

Delightful lunch spot. Beautiful ingredients, perfectly prepared as simple but elegant Italian dishes. The crispy artichokes are amazing. The squid ink pasta with crab is fantastic. Great wine options. Lovely service.

I've been to il Buco several times now and have never had quite a negative experience like last night's - our server was incredibly rude and bordered on incompetent (had to ask her four times for for a couple different things, spilled drinks, made snide side remarks on our orders and questions and didn't inform us when one of our orders was out), it took over an hour to get a few pasta dishes and a raw fish dish to us (I mean, really, how long does it take to cook raw fish?), and when we went to the host staff and manager, he brushed us off like we were nothing. Normally in these situations one might expect them to comp drinks or to offer up a complimentary appetizer or dessert; in this instance, he just rolled his eyes back in his porcine head.

Admittedly the food is terrific, but you can find places that are comparable (Aria?) where you don't have to deal with the people you are paying to serve you treating you like you're nothing.

What is all the fuss about. Very good ingredients usually make for good food. This is the case here. Some real skill is displayed by the quality of the house made pasta and the care with which it is prepared. But all of that is negated by the obnoxious and indifferent staff. It is tough to craft and prepare near perfect pasta. It is much easier to be hospitable. This place fails for me.

Nice decor and vibe. Not the service or food quality you would expect for the prices. Starter meat tray was half fat. Told the bartender (Carlos R) we didn t like all the fat, no correction or manager response. Lots of staff, no one on top of things.

Friendly serving staff, and spoke Italian !!! Sandwich and pizza tasted really delicious. Can highly recommend restaurant. It was cold during my visit to NYC in late April 2017. The air conditioning systems were still running in a number of restaurants. It was so comfortably warm here :)

I can hardly find words to accurately describe the amazing explosion of flavors in my mouth with each bite ! Great atmosphere as well and wonderful wine list. Can't wait for a return trip!

Really had a lovely experience. Not a fan for outdoor seating but really enjoyed it our waitress/bartender was great! Super sweet and friendly. Great Manhattan! Food was really good... evry dish was rich in flavors. Highly recommended and looking forward enjoying their indoors or garden next time.!

Very pleasant place with a cosy ambiance but it's still a very busy place ! They have a menu with a lot of fresh plates. The pastas were perfectly cooked. Staff is very good. Be sure to order some bread with olive oil, very tasty.

Everything here is amazing.

Everything here is amazing.

We ate family style so I had the chance to try a lot of things. Definitely get the bread for the table. I had the red beet gnocchi and it was beety and delicious. The cacio e peppe (bucatini) was cooked PERFECTLY and was delicious. The half chicken and the branzino are enough to split and were both excellent.

For apps, the fired artichokes were delicious but I really recommend the wild rice with shrimp. There were some others which I forget but remember being really good.

I didn't delve into the wine list here but their beer list, although small, was well manicured and did not disappoint. From what I heard from the table the wine was pretty good.

This is definitely a repeat.

Food was great, quality of products, great. Cleanliness, great -- service, unfortunately left a lot to be desired. We came hungry, and just getting some food on the table was very difficult. I love il Buco, but this more relaxed alternative maybe a little too relaxed for the staff. Three stars could have easily have been four if the team had it together that day.

Overpriced. Food is average at best and certainly does not justify this price point. Ordered branzino, it came with nothing on the side but what looked as a piece of bread. The place is pretty dark and I took a bite of what I thought was bread, it turned out that these dodo heads decided to serve a big piece of salt with the branzino. Why would they serve a huge piece of salt with a $40 fish only they know. You can do much better in other restaurants in the neighborhood and save your hard earned money.

My lunch was far superior to the dinners I've had at il buco. Shared at least ten dishes, many of them appetizers, plus one pasta, and most were outstanding. So were the spritzes. Id definitely return and would try dinner next time. Don't care if i ever return to the main resto. Service here wasnt especially friendly.

I came two years ago and at that time they were worried about being good. They were very good, but noisy !!! Well, over the years the noisy endures, the rest did not achieve it !! The attention is friendly but it feels forced. The predictable menu and there is worse thing than a pasta dish that lacks temperature . No sir!! That is inadmissible !! And having to ask for bread to accompany the pasta ??? That in Italy is not seen! Prices in relation to quality and attention are expensive.
They got a typical NY rest. Not bad. But like these there are many!

Cozy ambiance that hits the nice balance between cozy and vibrant. Open kitchen in the back, and little shop up front. We were fortunate enough to get a tour of the two level prep kitchen below. They cure their own salamis and all sorts of amazing things. Would go back.

Food is very good but I found it not to be as tasty as my favourite the big sister restaurant Il Buco on Bond St. The lunch menu was very good value and asparagus salad (see photo) was delicious. Great wine selection and good younger vibe than big sister il buco.. definitely will be back!

This is a hip and casual Italian restaurant in the East Village with good food, service, and decor. Went recently for lunch with my wife and we enjoyed the freshly baked bread basket, a salsiccia appetizer, gnocchi, and a crispy chicken panino. The salsiccia was especially delicious and I would highly recommend it -- a warm dish of pork sausage, beans, and cabbage. The restaurant is fairly large and has a number of seating options so it looks like it can accommodate small to large groups easily.

Enjoyed the espresso creations of Cindy at the front bar with a couple of made in house pastries. Planned on just stopping in for a minute and stayed almost 2 hours! Drinks amazing! Pastries fantastic! Conversation and jokes and silly stories did more than cheer me up! Thanks again Cindy! You and The Stewardess really made my day!! Decor, atmosphere, and overall ambiance were really nice as well. Not sure what the complaints about prices are about either. Prices fit the spot. And well worth it!

Came here at 1pm ish on the weekend and it was not crowded? Wow. Then I found out why.

This lackluster dim sum place falls flat not due to its second floor, inside the mall location. The food takes the blame, they were on average to mediocre.

Chicken Feet: was not cooked long enough.
White turnip cake: I found pieces of taro in it. Is this taro or turnip cake? It was barely seared on the pan.
Shui Mai: average.
Shrimp Dumpling: average.
Rice crepes: had better.
Sticky rice in lotus leaves: average
Pork buns: nothing to write about

I was totally surprised when my man told me that there is a guy in the men's bathroom servicing and waiting on tip. Whaaaat?

This is the only dim sum place I have ever been to where they don't rush you. The table next to us were actually taking their time and reading newspaper. Yep. Wow.

Trendy downtown restaurant serving seasonal and quality, locally sourced or imported ingredients in all their dishes. Comfortable, unpretentious setting with outdoor seating in warmer weather, but it gets crowded even on weekdays. Great daily specials, wonderful wine and a knowledgeable staff. Feels like you've escaped to Italy for a brief respite! Don't forget to buy their fresh yeast breads and more at their market before you leave.

definitely one of my favorite places in nyc. everything is good but if you can't try everything, you must have: fried artichokes, the short ribs, porchetta, salted caramel gelato. the, on your way out, buy a bottle of their olive oil, bread, more gelato and continue eating at home. best home made salame!

Super attentive service and great food. Everything from the small plates sections is a big hit, especially the boquerones.... So simple, so delicious. In addition to an outstanding wine list, the cocktails were also outstanding.
The charcuterie was the highlight though. Amazing morradella!

A place where would take me time to think about going back again (for its atmosphere). The decoration is cozy and chill - kinda gives you Northern Italy night vibes. But my party was seated at an awkward corner. The hospitality was like a joke. Waiters don't come to our table and it was extremely hard to call one over - they seem lost in their own restaurant! And there was, unfortunately, always something not on point in our dishes - whether the seasoning or the texture. I'm not sure if all the mistakes were caused by the overwhelming guests in a condensed restaurant cuz man! I saw ppl standing right in the middle of the room waiting for more than 40-50 minutes!

I came to for dinner last night, because I m thinking of hosting an event at the space. The restaurant is located in the Noho area, and it has a beautiful loft space upstairs that seats up to 55 people. This restaurant has rustic Italian food and a very homey and cozy ambience, with exposed brick and a pretty decor. They have an extensive selection of wines. The food is absolutely delicious. The bread and olive oil is amazing and I highly recommend the Riso Nero and the parpadelle. While I am usually not a big fan of desserts, this restaurant has an amazing olive oil cake, which is not greasy and so light and fluffy. The chocolate pudding is also amazing, and they add some textural contrast by putting crispy rice on the top. The staff is super friendly, and our waiter was really friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great dining experience and perfect for a date night. It s also good value because we ordered 3 appetizers, two mains and wine and the total came out to under $200.
