At present in my point of view except IIT-KGP and NIT-DGP this is the best engineering college of WB......

IIEST Shibir was badly damaged by a super cyclonic storm Amphan on May 20, 2020.

I just entered this college, but I have completed two semesters here and the environment is as in a college should be. You will find peace in the campus, fun in the hostels and sleep in the classrooms(joke). The faculty is good gives the vibe of a strict study routine like some high school. But they are openminded and cooperative.

Alma matter calling!!!! This is The Oldest and most prestigious engineering/technology institutes of eastern India.

Pioneer Engineering Institute in India since two centuries, which produced many successful scholars in India and abroad !

2nd Oldest Engineering Institute of the country, beautiful campus life

An old institute with great resources and faculty . Students are able to grow and develope on their own. Administration however is not upto the mark and considerate towards student's development and strictly based on academic principals rather than overall development.

IIEST is a moderately good college with a reasonable infrastructure. But yes, a more friendly behavior from the staff is needed since a university should be "for the students". Our college campus lacks a gd library which is open for 24*7. It should have a good computer center with access to websites of good, internationally recognized journals. It should also have better playgrounds. The engineering faculty is quite OK, but certainly, more industry exposure and practical knowledge-based learning is needed. We are mainly taught every subject theoretically and we hardly know what happens in reality.Industry visits are extremely important. College life for me was not so pleasing. Though mostly I am responsible for it. But yes, the hostels should have better atmosphere, better bathrooms, indoor games. There should be cultural fests, interactive sessions with students and teachers of other universities, seminars on interesting topics. I am not particularly concerned about placement but as far as my knowledge is concerned, placement scenario is not so good. I hope it will improve in the upcoming years. College professors are good in general but yes, some of the could have taught in a better, more interesting manner but again, this is common for every college in India. Yes, recently the student intake has increased and the college has become a little moe crowded but it's ok ! In terms of mess fees, tuition fees my college is definitely affordable to a middle-class family.

One of the most prestigious institute to offer good teaching. Management is very caring and students are obedient . IIEST is creating leaders from Bengal for this world silently.

good place only for crammers. not good for people who love engineering. enthusiasm seeps out year by year, and by the end of 4th year your level comes down than your first year! because here you can get good marks without understanding the subjects!

From ancient days this college is pride for Howrah. Previously the college was known as Shivpur B E College and many people call them as simply b e college. Recently the college has gotten its own univeristy dergee. I remember once I went there as my entrance exam center was in this college.

Everything is available in the campus of IIEST shibpur.

One of the oldest engineering colleges in India. Quality wise, it is one of the best in region, having exceptional faculty. Very few institutions are blessed to be located on such a serene spot, i.e, on the banks of river Hooghly.

Awesome campus, you'll definitely fall in love with our campus. Specially try to visit once a year in winter, can't express that feeling in words....
In short, this is my second home and I love to be there for rest of my life, if possible.
