IHG Crowne Plaza / Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Kowloon East / Vega Suite Review

It's hard to say anything has a great location in Hong Kong because every part of town has great things there. The Holiday Inn in Kowloon was as good as I think I could've asked for. Very clean and quiet for a metropolitan city and right next to a major subway stop. The mall it is connected to offers tons of shopping and the subway stop so you can't ask for better! The shower was separated from the bedroom by only frosted glass which may make some travelers a bit uncomfortable but was not big deal for me. I would recommend staying here for travelers looking for a good location and a reasonably-priced stay.

I'm not sure why this hotel is an 'Express' rather than a regular Holiday Inn (technicalities I imagine) but it really doesn't feel like it's lacking much.

The staff are polite and helpful, the rooms are reasonably big for the cost and clean and have all of the basics I required.

There are token operated washers and dryers on the semi open air relaxation floor if you need to do any laundry.

The breakfast area is a short walk (under cover) to the opposite Crowne Plaza Hotel and has a decent enough variety.

There is a huge multi phase shopping centre that includes a cinema and number of grocery stores and also connects to a few other shopping centres as well as the metro system (with the two main stops eastward also having large shopping centres connected, but not quite as big).

My only criticism is that although they have made some changes to the lifts that serve the floors and restaurants (connected to the shopping centre) on busy days/times it still gets too crowded - they need to keep a lift dedicated to hotel floors (unless a key card is used).

Additionally, it is located quite far from the usual tourist spots so bear that in mind as it will require frequent travel.

Comfortable and Convenient for our stay in Hong Kong. Breakfast extensive met our requirements.

The environment is surrounded by empty parks and large shopping malls. Stay action can be used for a few days. The room is big and the facilities are brand new, very clean

Very convenient place, centralized.. With easy access to transportation.. Signing up as an IHG members gives you some little perks..

The room is dirty and the hotel is now mainly for China mainlander tour purpose. The breakfast is really suck. If your budget is tight, it is your choice. But if you can afford a bit more, you are not advised to stay there.

The location of the hotel is very strategic .. close to the station mtr ... it's just been at the end of Hong Kong ... tsung kwan o

Nice place to stay with reasonable tariff , located centrally.

Comfortable room. I love the excellent customer service from the front desk. There was a mix up in information and they moved my room to the 27th floor which gave me an awesome view of the area. If I ever return to Hong Kong again I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed in this hotel every time I go to Hong Kong. The hotel is next to a huge big shopping mall and make my shopping experience so pleasant. The customer service is excellent and the room and bathroom is roomy , clean and environment is good compared to the other hotel in HK.
Impressive me the most is the free breakfast with good variety and friendly staff, it really worth the price and is definitely a pleasure stay. I am highly recommend this hotel.

P.S. Mr Ken Lau , the service supervisor at the breakfast banquet is a gem of the hotel, He solved my problem quickly and professional cause I am sensitive to certain kind of food. He is willing to listen and react quickly and helpful. Please accept my sincere thankful Mr. Lau.

Far From Crowd

The hotel situated at region that isn't tourist area, instead suburban. Since the hotel is far far away from any tourist attraction, no much anything could visited beside shopping mall near the hotel.

Despite this, the hotel is above MTR station. Only need walk from 2nd floor to exit C MTR station then can go to everywhere using MTR.

The Room quite spacious but not the bathroom. Due to limitation space, there was only one door at bathroom which also used for closing shower area too. How poor is the privacy in the bathroom.

Don't be surprised with several strange policy on this hotel. For example, don't left room with condition AC turned off and don't open window.

Strangely, there wasn't dedicated area for breakfast. Instead Holiday Inn Express lends a ballroom at Crowne Plaza. The location could be change each day depending on availability of an empty ballroom (usually medium sized ballroom).

Breakfast menu choice extremely lack of variation each day (monotonous), albeit the variaties not limited and taste good. Only few menu changed everyday. Bakery and pastry only available for those have IHG membership.

Regardless from several cons, this hotel is recommended, especially for those want serenity.

Although it is far from central Hong Kong, it is easy to access as it is directly connected to the station shopping mall. The hotel itself is new, so it is clean and clean. It is recommended for smokers as there are rooms that can be smoked. The terrace on the 8th floor has a good atmosphere.

The waiter's attitude of LoBBY in this hotel lobby is very problematic. First, I went to the hotel to check the heat and asked to send it to the room. I told Qu know that I don't know if the floor can't be reached and I have to shoot the card to waste time. Another waiter is even worse. I waited in the lobby for a long time to deliver the copy

Had stayed during CNY , buffet breakfast was good although repeated every day. Room is big enough to have 4 people eating drinking together. Entrance is directly linked to Popcorn mall so one can always take go for a coffee movie or to eat.

We are originally from Hong Kong and when we go back to visit, we always stay at this hotel. Location is great with close proximity to the MTR station and to a nice shopping mall. Management is great with quick response by email as well. Highly recommended!

Building and room was very tidy and seemingly clean, friendly and courteous staff. Why 1 star? Bed Bugs. Stayed for 8 days, my family started developing bed bug bite rashes on the 4th night and got more severe 2 days after we checked out.

Very well located, you can take the metro in the hotel itself, it has an elevator that goes down to a shopping center.
Checking in a bit badly, after spending the night on the plane we had to wait until 3 in the afternoon to get a room.
Breakfast is given in the hotel opposite and basically they give Asian food. Otherwise it is a quiet hotel, nothing noisy, it has air conditioning and the room is super spacious.

Hotel rooms are expensive and small relative to other hotels. Beds are small. Honestly just pay the extra 200 dollars and go to the Crowne plaza right next to holiday Express.

Good Location if you want to go to Sai Kung or other places further north. Directly above the MTR and bus interchange. Nice rooms with good view.

Fulfilled all my expectations of a Holiday Inn. Comfortable bed, clean room, unobtrusive service. Dining not in the hotel but in an adjacent one.

Drill the door to try to earn your money first-class, do the wrong thing, push the left and push the right and have nothing to do with it, from the top to the next!

Feels a bit grubby and not that clean, all linen felt damp despite the noisy aircon being on full whack. I guess the vacuum cleaner has broken and they've run out of products. There is nothing in the minbars and the only vending machine onsite only takes prepaid cards. Breakfast (which is served next door in the Crowne Plaza) is passable but only just. Pics of the pool are also for the Crown Plaza.

The saving grace is that the staff member who checked me in was very efficient and friendly.

Clean, modern and, especially worth mentioning in HK, spacious rooms! If you can live with being quite a way out of the city center and accept the "Express", this is a very good option.

Hotel is in a nice location with the mtr and mall at the same place. Staff and rooms are nice. Only negative is that the elevators take a long time everytime you enter or leave the hotel room.

The room is big, but the bed is too small, it smells like a big smoke, and the lift is too slow, it s not comparable to the crown, and it s easy to live in.

The room is relatively thin, the daily must be designated to change the sheets, the sheets will be replaced, and the replacement slippers should be asked first. The most miserable room has mosquitoes.

... no reason not to like this hotel, excellent service from staff, clean, convenient for the MTR, has access to shopping mall, lots of dining options, breakfast next door (crowne plaza hotel) so-so, comfortable sleep, fast wifi. happy to stay here again.

Quiet but expensive and quite out the way if you're in Hongkong as a tourist or on business. Overpriced.

Very clean and tidy. Staff very helpful and courteous. Room is a reasonable size but bed is more like a double than a king size as booked. Free buffet every morning for members which is a wonderful bonus. Washing machine and dryer provided. Lovely green terrace to relax in and shopping center is connected to the inn which makes things easily accessible. Subway is only 5 minutes walk away.
