The shop stewards were deliberately created to misinform and mislead the workforce.

The worst thing that can happen to a worker is being betrayed by your own union! Working days are canceled at the VW plant in Wolfsburg and the workforce then has to accept cuts in salary!

About IG Metall

IG Metall: Championing Justice, Fair Wages, and Good Working Conditions

IG Metall is a German trade union that has been at the forefront of championing workers' rights since its inception in 1949. The organization's mission is to promote justice in the workplace and society, fair wages, good working conditions, collective bargaining agreements, and employee participation.

With over 2.3 million members across Germany, IG Metall is one of the largest trade unions in Europe. The organization represents workers from various industries such as automotive manufacturing, electrical engineering, metalworking industry and many more.

The union's commitment to social justice has earned it a reputation as a formidable force for change. IG Metall has been instrumental in securing better working conditions for employees across different sectors through collective bargaining agreements with employers.

One of the key areas where IG Metall has made significant strides is in promoting gender equality in the workplace. The union advocates for equal pay for equal work regardless of gender or race. It also supports women's career advancement by providing training programs and mentoring opportunities.

Another area where IG Metall has been active is promoting sustainable development practices within companies. The union encourages businesses to adopt environmentally friendly policies that reduce their carbon footprint while ensuring job security for employees.

In addition to advocating for workers' rights within Germany, IG Metall also collaborates with other international labor organizations to promote global social justice initiatives such as fair trade practices and human rights protection.

The organization's success can be attributed to its strong leadership team led by Jörg Hofmann who was elected as President of IG Metall in 2015 after serving as Vice President since 2007. Under his leadership tenure so far he has overseen several successful campaigns including securing better wages & working conditions during Covid-19 pandemic crisis period which affected many industries globally including automotive manufacturing sector which was one of their main focus areas.
