Idaho River Sports Review

Great location, but the employees aren't great. The customer service is lacking. I called to let the owner know and he never called me back. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

What a Blast!!! Johnny is the best - very informative and a very good instructor. For being a beginner Johnny from the basics to the right procedures on how to paddle for many different conditions. My wife now wants to take a lesson on the paddle board. Johnny told her she would have a lot of fun!!!

Awesome place for my daughter to hang out with friends! They also have kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, etc for rental.

There isn't a more complete paddling shop anywhere! SUP, kayak, canoe, raft and great lines like Werner Paddles, Dagger, Wave Sport and SUPs from Glide, BIC, Hobie, Aire and much, much more!

Great store owned and operated by local whitewater boaters. Service is personal and excellent, if you're new to paddling or a whitewater veteran this is the place to shop!

Rented a paddle board staff was great. Equipment was clean. Easy check in and check out process.

Had a roof rack problem that did not meet the specifics of the manufacturer(s). Explained my situation to Conner and he was willing to take the time to pull out boxes, open them and allow me to try until we found exactly what would work. I had contacted manufacturer twice and had been to several other "outdoor" stores with no other real help. Thank you Conner and thank you River Sports for having good people that will take the time to make things right!

The guys here were all super helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The reserved a kayak for us that was in great condition and clean, for a good price. Fun stuff. Definitely will be back!

The staff here was very friendly and they had nice gear for any kind of kayaking or SUP. They mostly had high quality items so prices were a little high but they also had some used and discount items for sale.

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Wide range of kayaks, SUPs, and accessories. Just wish they carried Jackson's kayaks.

Well run, locally owned, business. Highly recommended for your river supply needs. The owner, Jo, is an absolute GEM, such a fantastic and kind lady. The employees I've dealt with are always patient, knowledgable, and kind as well.

The prices are reasonable. Even if you pay a few extra bucks compared to Amazon, supporting these folks is worth the extra change.

They've got some good used deals once in a while too. Worth a look if you need a raft or kayak.

We rented paddle boards for our family of 4. It was an amazing price of $25 for 1st hour and $5 for every 30min after that. It really allowed us to enjoy our time on the pond, which is right next to it, without breaking the bank. They also did a great job explaining everthing and the equipment was in great condition!

The most professional and friendly place! I stopped in randomly to inquire about a paddle board and lesson and they couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. A big thank you to Bailey who came in on her day off to give me the best lesson and teach me how to paddle board! Again, the nicest people, a great shop, and dog friendly (Loki loved all the attention)!!! I will be sure to visit every summer! Thanks Idaho River Sports!!!

I looked for a piece for my river boat and they didn't have it but directed me to a place that they thought would. Nice to have that direction but would have been ecstatic if they had what I needed!

My wife and I took a stand up paddle board lesson from here. The instructor was awesome, the water was warm, and even the kids had a great time (riding on our boards). I'll likely rent one from here for down the river then consider buying my own.

Friendly, helpful, and not snotty like some sporting goods stores. They let me test a couple of kayaks so that I could be sure of my selection. They explained the benefits of all accessory equipment. Great people to deal with.

I came here to rent a stand-up paddle board to take out on Boise's Quinn Lake, and I had so much fun! Every employee was super-helpful, friendly,and laid-back. And I really enjoyed trying out SUP, which is an activity I've always wanted to try. At $20 for an hour rental, I thought the price was pretty reasonable. They also sell boards and equipment, but I can only speak to the rental experience, which was great.

I bought 2 kayaks today for my husband for our anniversary! Bella caught me when I got there and offered to help! She was knowledgeable, not pushy and helped me get everything we d need! The staff all helped me with my selections and loading! Great local company with great staff! Highly recommend!

Today was an awesome day to be out on Quinn's Pond for the 1st time this season. What really made it the BEST was because of Pam and her crew at Idaho River Sports. So committed to having their customers enjoy their outing the fullest degree. They went above board with my family's needs and my rental. You can really tell the folks love working there. Your website is poor and inadequate. Please spend the time to update it. Cascade River Gear is much better.

Excellent diversity of equipment. A bit pricy on some of the lower end items. Great assortments of rentals. Tried to work a deal on a sale item and they would not budge-a little disappointing. Friendly staff...

Bryant went above and beyond to help me get parts for my old kayak. Not just that the new covers for my kayak fit PERFECTLY! , but he spent the time to find what I needed. And was willing to find them on the Internet if it didn t work. Thanks Bryant, if you read this the covers are a great fit, and thank you for your kindness and effort. James

Super friendly staff and always a good experience. I wish their rental prices were a little more affordable but I'm sure they are on par with everyone else. Overall, I have no problem paying if I get something good out of it and with IRS I'm never disappointed.

Just stopped in to look at some kayaks. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable will definitely be buying my kayak from them.

Friendly staff, but very confusing set up for rentals. Still using paper for all their forms makes for a big line when everything is returned st the same time. I rented an SUP and it was pretty nice, but could scratch up your legs if you tried to climb on it from the water the wrong way.

We had a great experience with our SUP rental. The pond is right there so you can just walk it over. It looks like you have to bring your own lock for the lockers so we ended up leaving our stuff in the car

Ok product selection, so-so service and fairly high prices. Not my favorite river gear shop in town. I've never used their rental shop, which seems to be the part of their business they take seriously.
