Me and some friends go here once every few months and love it every time. It's much more realistic and intense than normal laser tag and the sessions are just under an hour. It's a bit pricey, at $30 a pop, which makes sense for what you get, but it is a bit much. It'd be nice if they let you buy multiple passes for a discount, we'd definitely go more!

I've gone 5 times now and ive gotten better, the Teams are sometimes unbalanced but they do a good job and switching players when one team wins too many times and I don't mind that at all to me that seems like the right way to handle things, and I there is a review that had in issue with respawning every 15 seconds and all i have to say is maybe get better and don't cry??? This place is amazing and the employees only get upset when you talk over them and i dont think that is bad I mean the man is trying to do his job, how about you listen to him and we can all have fun.

The worst day of my life im not going over for a few months. There was a staff named fernando i dont know what was his problem but since the start he was in a really bad mood. I dont if i should sue the company or not but fernado crabed me from the back of my vest and he told " If i see you respawn her again your done" after when he told me that he threw me and if fell on the ground i started to cry and he hurt me really bad when he threw me. Icombat you should talk to that staff member i dont know what was his deal.

This place is awesome. The service is good. The people were friendly. For those new comers, set up to get you started is quick and easy. The only downfall is that the prices could be a bit cheaper, should also recommend getting Wi-Fi and last but not least, they should lower the prices of bottled water and snacks. All in all I enjoyed the experience and will come back many more times.

Best laser tag place I've been to, such a blast and will for sure be going there regularly! Also prepare to sweat and dress accordingly! EDIT: Check those 1 star reviews, are you really about to take advise from some of these people who are not capable of constructing simple sentences?

Combine players who play weekly/daily and know every nook and cranny with first timers who get zero time to survey the field. There is also a high ground behind and above the bases that experienced players can get to and cap everyone from behind. Took a group for my birthday. Miserable experience. Never going back.

Great place to have a party, or just hang out with friends. The first game is $30, but if you plan on being there the whole day, each consecutive game becomes $15. Also, after every game, they send you a feedback link. Takes five mins to fill out, and you have a chance at another 50% off your next game. I've never wanted to hang out somewhere so long so many times. Staff is great, people are great, and if the people you play with are less-than-savory, they have a great system in place to ensure that multiple time offenders are dealt with, to keep the game fun and safe for everyone. All together, a great experience for everyone, and will keep you coming back with the progression system they have implemented. 10/10, would rate again.

Went for the heck to to see what all the hype was about. So didn't have any real expectations walking in the door. The sessions aren't as long as advertised after all the instruction that takes place. Customer service was really poor. It seemed like there were no grown adults there, mostly teens or college kids. The guy working with our team told us he was still hung over, as well as making some reference to drugs. Just overall very unprofessional and far from a good attitude. Had issues logging in and was basically told at the counter that they couldn't do anything and couldn't offer any insight. It was another customer that actually helped me solve the issue and walk me through it. It was neat to have something more realistic, but the fun of it was quickly drained by players who basically live there and know where to camp out. You barely make it out of the respawn shack before getting hit and having to go back. Not really iCombat's fault, but something to consider if you are new. Overall experience wasn't good, mostly because of the customer service. It was awful. Bad enough experience that I am taking the time to type a review online for the first time ever.

It s not really the venues fault because I don t know the solution but unless you are a professional player then you will have the most boring time of your life. Once we rented out the arena for just our work and it was really fun! But anytime I ve gone for some event and it was public, it has been sooooooo miserable. Unfortunately until they can figure out some kind of handicap for public matches it is seriously the most boring, infuriating waste of money imaginable.

Friendly staff but poorly maintained equipment. My gun wasn't firing until the last two games where I was given different gear entirely. Poor first experience. I would suggest starting out by playing with a reserved group of 10 friends and making sure your equipment is working (the "out of ammo" sound sounds a lot like the gun is firing so as a new player I wasn't aware of it and playing against veteran players was not fun) icombat > Our brief video explains the reload and functionality of our equipment, but understand your first go at it can be confusing. Response edit: To be clear, the equipment was actually broken and the reload was not working. I brought it to staff attention twice and they replaced the magazine twice which didn't fix the issue. It's a bit patronizing to say I just didn't know how to reload. Since you couldn't fire between rounds they said "that should do it" without testing and I was none the wiser. I feel like I got ripped off since it was the last two rounds where I was given a functioning weapon. It would have been a more fun experience if there were just more checks in quality and a more attentive staff. I'm fine with highschoolers running things but one dude was definitely high and the other two didn't actually make sure anything was working properly before starting another round.

This place used to be great but no anymore. When you have 5 regulars (one of them happens to be an employee) on one team, against less experienced players and you can't even win one game, there's a problem. Them employees don't give a damn. Taylor (who was running ice) sits on his phone and/or talks to his girlfriend mainly the entire time. The field judges need to speak up so they can be heard. Stars are just for the new layout of the field.

It was my first time playing laser tag, so I cannot go into detail saying what stands out from laser tag in general, but I can say that I liked both the game play and the artistic aspect of the game. I would like to get better at it.

Super lame. Like an airline squeezing every cent possible by cramming people in there. Paintball is way better. Don't waste your money. Not kid friendly lots of swearing. Too expensive for the experience. And laser tag veterans are way worse than paintball veterans. Difficult to get started with a pointless log in. We were a group of 30 and they put a high bunch of strangers in with us. So we pay $960 for an hour and don't get the room? What a rip off. The employees in the stations are jerks. The judges on the field don't have a problem walking right in your line of fire. And one round it said I only fired 4 rounds. Not possible.

My husband and I took our 3 older teenage kids to iCombat last weekend. This was a return trip for us as we had been to iCombat once before and really had a great time. What a disappointment. The staff member who was in charge of our team was rude and spent most of his time chatting with his buddies who were on our team rather than explaining the rules and objective of each match. I can tell you about his dog, his weekend, his stats and various other information but I can't tell you what the hell the borg mission objective was. And neither could several people who were iCombat first-timers. When I asked the same staff member between rounds whether or not I could reload he told me I "could reload when I tell you to reload". Excuse me? I'm not a punk 16 year old kid that can or should be addressed that way jack! (Actually, it was Taylor.) When one of my kids voiced her displeasure about staff member Taylor being disrespectful he told us we would get one warning about being disrespectful to the staff and then we would get kicked out. Really?! Finally, we talked to a different staff member (I believe his name was Ben and he was extremely helpful) about the situation. While talking with Ben, one of staff member Taylor's friends that was on our team actually came up and chest bumped my son and told him to quit telling lies about his buddy. Fortunately Ben was able to diffuse the situation and our 90 minutes ended soon afterward. I cannot express how disappointed I am to have spent $158 on such a miserable experience. Will definitely find somewhere else to spend our money if this is how they treat customers. If I could have given zero stars I would have.

Fun round of tactical laser tag. I was bummed they didn't play capture the flag or a few other games but they had a few to choose from. You should also know that it says you play for 75 minutes that "includes a 15 minute vest time" for you to get ready. So we got into our session late and didn't play for even an hour, that's the only thing keeping me from giving it more stars.

I have been there five times. 4/5 times the teams have been VERY unfair. They jack one team up with really good people and EMPLOYEES! Then, the other team is left with the newbies. I have complained to them, but the just blow it off. It took my whole team complaining to make them give us a $10 gift card that can ONLY be used on your next game. What a waste of $30.

Very awesome place but a few things need to be tweaked. First thing is blind fire rule. There needs to be more field judges to monitor this as well as I saw people taking off headgear so we couldn't shoot their head and they would put it back on when they went back to respawn. Second major issue was the map/field was way too small for a 16 v 16, it was too chaotic. A max of 10 v 10 would be ideal. Next thing that could be tweaked is the guns. It would be nice if the gun had an automatic setting along with the semi-auto and 3 round burst. The player should also get to choose if they want a grip on their gun because it was kind of hard to hold at times. The stock should also be longer because at its max length, it was still too small for me and I'm Only 6 foot, so not that tall. Final minor detail would be an option for an iron sighted gun as opposed to the dot sight. Also, they could implement different reticle colors and different brightness levels to the sights. Finally, the teams were unbalanced at times. I was a noob that day and was getting wrecked by regulars. I get it that they need to be filtered in too but it was very unfair. Other than that, it was a very good experience, and I will definitely be coming back even if they do not fix these issues stated above. Also, want to try try new locations. (Went to the one in Madison) I really like the website and that you can see the leaderboards, K/D, etc. That is a very nice feature along with the universal iCombat cards.

My friends and I were looking forward to playing lazer tag tonight at iCombat. There was seven of us, accumulating to $240 dollars of profit for the company. Three of my eight friends were able to sign up in advance for the 11pm session which cost $30 +tax per person. We were unfortunately unable to register all of our group to this session because it filled up before we were able to sign everyone up. As we were signing up we called the business and expressed we were hoping to get a group of people into the 11pm session. However, they said there was no was to confirm our group being able to get in to the 11pm session because there was already customers in the store signing up. When we realized we were able to fit the whole group we decided we would hopefully be able to get our money back. I called the establishment and asked the employee if they were able to refund our money. He immediately expressed that he could not give us our money back, which was disappointing. My friends and I understood that this probably happened often due to the popularity of this particular establishment. Upon realizing this we decided that the business would hopefully be able to come to terms with us and allow us to transfer our three registered people to another night so all of our friends could participate. This would result in the increasing profits by over 100% (they would be making $120 more than they were originally). This request was then denied, they stated that their policy required customers to change reservations 24 hrs. in advance of the game. While I understand that this is their policy, as a worker in customer service for 2+ years I know that the #1 goal in business is to satisfy the customer. My experience with iCombat has been one sided, the only attempts to satisfy the customer (myself) was done by myself. The manager simply repeated that he could do nothing for me which was extremely dissatisfying.

Laser Tag without so much of the theatrics and sci-fi slant. iCombat is an exhilarating, affordable event with helpful and friendly staff, and can both supplement your regular exercise routine and serve as a nice diversion. I would advise caution to new players around sessions with experienced and advanced players, because, no fault of iCombat, a few of the hardcore players seem to be uninviting to fresh blood and just exploit their newness to pad their records, though most appreciate a growing community and new competition. The equipment and stages are designed to feel like realistic, armed combat, with varying (configurable) levels of realism, and the game options are varied enough to keep it interesting. Only complaint is that the sessions feel too short, even at 10-15 minutes, I would like the option for 45-60 minute "iron man" matches, which tend to work well with standard laser tag.

I love Icombat, I ve been playing for 3 and a half years and I have to say I love it. I go usually 2-3 times a weekend. The new ish guns that came out about 8ish months ago are great, your able to reload on the fly and the overall quality of the guns are better. What has not been better is the fact that recently we have not been called in 5 or even ten minutes after the supposed starting time. The 90 minutes includes the brief and debrief so you are getting around 65-75 minutes of play but with this reoccurring issue it s more like 50. The mags randomly pop out and the fact that only fern can fix it or put the new parts in concerns me, what if they were all like that, personally I have been put in this situation where I have to reload again and even during a fight. Besides that all I would like is for the staff to really focus on getting the start times more to when it is supposed to be. Thank you, NoNutNoNutriton.

Was Pretty psyched about how cool it seemed. But then I too went against the icombat employees. So i had a real "fun" time going back and forth to the spawn location as they ran up their numbers against a noob with no mercy. Those guys are beasts and had 16 kills to every one of mine. No handicap system makes it unlikely new players will have much fun. gun kept not resetting when reloading making it even harder to play. Headband gets sweat all over it smells awful. The score screen didnt work in one of the motorpool , so had no idea how i was doing. I think it is a lot like Call of Duty but that also means the same thing happens in Call of Duty where you spend a lot of time getting killed by really good players because they do not balance it out. Waste of time and money until you get good

Recently, it seems, they've gotten new management. The session I had last week was with a 30+ individual, who gave it that military fu attitude without acting like he didn't want to do his job. Like I said previously, it was still worth it to go even with moderately low employee attitudes, so hopefully they are addressing their weak points. +1 to my review, up to 4 stars with this change. To get 5 stars: The main issue I think they need to address now is a system for balancing/rebalancing teams, as winning 8/9 matches isn't as fun as winning 5/9 ( and the losing teams probably feel much worse ). -------------- Old review (pre - 4/1/2015) ---------------------------- Before I write a scathing review, I will say that I play once a month with a group at work, so it is worth going back for us, now they we understand the downside.. It's a monopoly. There are no other laser tag places like it in Madison. There's a somewhat military feel to it, in that the employees treat you kind of like dirt. That's almost fun for some parts and adds to the military theme, but when you have a problem, as a paying customer, they need to start serving like they're a business trying to operate in the high standards of 2015, and not the military where you can't leave. The level of effort put forth by MOST of the employees is worse than McDonald's, and you pretty much have to 'do it yourself' to get anything done there. I had to threaten to leave when their computer problem was putting me on different teams, even though we kept changing it back. Eventually they figured it out, though I had to basically stand there and coax them into doing their job. It's fun, just don't expect the employees to care, they're probably paid minimum wage, or at least they act like it. If they had any competition, I wouldn't hesitate to take my monthly group of 4-10 people elsewhere. The game itself is fun, unless there are unbalanced teams, which happens occasionally. They won't fix it, probably because it would take time out of play. They will not give you special pick of gun or sights. For their friends, I've seen them give away basically cheating guns though. We had a kid who knew them who they gave a gun that was basically silent, he went 53-0 the first match. The other team probably had a miserable time. It's kind of sad, they should do more to balance it, and they should treat all paying customers equally and well, and not let their friends cheat. The website and game itself are great(when it's fair), the atmosphere, once you get into the game is good, but the service is abysmal. It's definitely a work in progress company. All said about the service, it's probably management's fault. Most the time, when employee's act like they don't care or won't go the extra mile, it's because management threatens to fire them all the time. When you have no job security, you probably won't exercise the service you could give. I've never actually seen anyone over the age of 20s working there.

Friendly knowledgeable staff. The newer guns are excellent with the 2 stage reload. Ive done 7-8 sessions here always have a great experience. The in-game facilitators make sure you have fun and give their tips, tricks, and strategies when your team is struggling to level the playing field. I would defintely recommend grabbing a bunch of friends and booking a private session!

Really incredible experience. It's not the Laser Tag I knew as a child. Very realistic with many different game styles to keep it fresh. It's essentially Halo/Call of Duty in real life with lasers. You even get online stats with your headshots, K/D ratio, etc. I'll definitely be going back... several times.

Went for the first time last night with my son. A couple of positives...layout was really neat, the gear was realistic. Prior to starting the game, both my son and I were excited to play. With that said, it earned a one star review because employees did a horrible job of orienting us to the gear and explaining what to do in all of the different mini-games. They advertise 90 minutes of play, whereas my experience was about 60-70 minutes of play. Additionally, at least 4 employees were playing in the group - one of them was actually working, but decided to play anyways. These employees knew all of the spots to camp out and pick off people as they revived. In any of the mini-games, the employees got 90% of the kills. Come on! How is this fair? I hope your employees are paying to play, because they will be your only repeat customers.

The playing field is fairly large. There is: a guard tower, a clock tower, sandbag protection, vehicles for protection, etc. Some of the buildings are multi level. iCombat advertises the CO2-charged weapons (they are rifles) as having realistic firing and recoil action, but due to wear and tear, they do not. Instead of firing a satisfying POP-POP-POP, the rifles go tap-tap-tap. This makes the game less intense, and it also makes it harder to locate the other players because the firing sounds are so soft. All the fog machines are broken, which was disappointing to see. A match was $30. I didn't get $30 worth of experience due to their field and equipment not living up to what they promise in their ads. Even if their stuff was fixed, $20 or $25 would more fair for admission. The Team DM and Sniper game modes were the most fun. Real-time and post game stats are detailed and fun to review. Overall, it a good experience, but they could kick it up a notch, or rather actually live up to what they advertise by making their rifles and their smoke machines on the field work like they should.

EDIT: Since you took the time to reply to my review, I'll take the time to reply to your reply. For starters, it was very hot outside, and I realize that it would be very difficult to keep that building comfortable for everyone to be running around. I should have explained a bit better. If you decide to go to this place on a hot day, I definitely recommend bringing some body spray or perfume for the ride home. Putting the vests on reminded me of being in a high school locker room. It was damp and smelled heavily used, and after a round or two it was very clear why. As for the problems with balancing, I should have explained a bit better there too. The first few rounds it was 6 versus 5, 10 brand new players and a "veteran". We lost all of those matches, no competition. After they realized that we were going to just keep losing, one of the staff members (Jono, big shout out to you for helping out!) joined our team to make it 6v6, much more balanced. However, it mostly just became a game for those two. Unfortunately the score email they send you is only for you, not for your team, so I can't compare our scores, but I would be willing to bet that the MVP award went to one of those two every match. For reference, one of the members on my team was in the Marines, he was killed over 30 times by just one player. TLDR; go when it's cool out, reserve a private match, go with your friends only. Hot as hell in there. They don't balance the teams either so I recommend you reserve a private group, we had someone really good join the other team (it was all of our first times) and we got slaughtered. $30 for an hour of sweating and dying.

This is better than your typical laser tag experience because it involves more strategy and more of a workout. You have to run back to base to get your life back. My friends and I really enjoy doing this for fun, active competition. It's like a real-life video game.

Amazing experience and definitely a great value. Easy to sign up and the game tracks all of your stats. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very few issues with people not following the rules (which I have run into at other laser tag places) and the times it did happen the staff put an end to it quickly.

They have a lot of work to do. Firstly, they can't hire 16-20 year olds to run the place. The staff was very immature, favored their friends/employees on the play field, and treat you pretty poorly. Secondly, the game balance is not very well done. The regular/veteran players create an anti-fun environment to play in for a first time player. Running back to the spawn every 15 seconds is NOT fun. Third, the game modes can be glitchy, and the guns malfunction often. If they had competition in the market maybe they would care more. But it just seems like they don't care, and extort you for the money.

I have gone to this place twice. The first time was pretty fun, the second time was miserable. Pros: -The guns have recoil and are very fun to shoot -The arena is creative -Longer sessions than standard laser tag Cons -Expensive ($30/session) -They advertise the sessions at 90 minutes, but between all the overhead, you'd be lucky to get an hour. -Borg is a stupid game mode. The optimum strategy is for every member of the borg team to hide in the same building on the second story, hunkered down. Why have a game mode like that? -They did a very poor job balancing the teams. The average score on my team was ~2.4 and theirs was ~5.5 (1 is brand new, 15 is pro). Even the screens in the suit-up zone said that the teams were poorly balanced. -People who go there a lot prey on the new people and make the game miserable. That last reason is why I will be very hesitant to go back. New people and veteran's play the game very differently. Basically, newbies move around a lot, looking for something fun to do. Veteran's know all the perfect places to sit. They just hunker down and get dozens and dozens of kills each game. It was a rare experience for me to get more than 30 feet away from the base before being killed. I know I wasn't the only one who was sick of just getting shot all the time. One guy from our team actually left mid-session because it was so un-fun. Is there a way to make a session fun for both newbs and pros? Maybe re-design the bases so they are safe? Is it really fair to be able to be shot in the base? Maybe better team balancing?
