Icicle Seafoods, Inc. Review

I worked 2 summers on Northern Victor. Hard work as hell. But it changed my life. Glad I got to have that experience. I don't know where would I be today if I did not do it.

I have never worked there but have worked in a number of plants and fished in AK in my 20's (i am 64 now). Based on a lot of these comments, it seems like most young people don't know how to work hard any more. It used to be you spent a summer up there under grueling conditions, late nights, cold, wet etc, but by the end of the summer you had worked enough hrs to made good $$, enough for 2-3 quarters of college.

I'm gonna say if you have never held a job and are not a hard worker this job isn't for you they could be a little more honest in what's going on but other than that a great opportunity to make money and save. This job is 90% mental so If you have a weak mind you probably won't hack it. I finished the season from start to finish. Most of the people commenting on here are lazy people that don't work and like to be carried. You won't make millions but you'll get a nice boost if your trying to get forward. And it's not ran by "mescans" lol this moron below me is just lazy and trying to take their frustrations out on the company.

All I can say is don't go to wood river in Dillingham. I really can't speak for any other location but wood river wasn't a good experience for me.

Good place to work if you can handle the fires of hell

I worked on the Gordan Jenson for 6 weeks them I quit. It took us 11 days to get to naknek and then there was no work for a month including the 11 days it took to get there. The boat is ran by Mescans so be aware. I worked for 2 weeks and quit. I was there for a total of 6 weeks it was like jail. Also no cell, cable, or internet. Just a dvd player and 2 satellite phones. DONT GO!!!!!!! DONT GO ON A BOAT, SEA SICKNESS

I must conclude your Black Top Red Salmon contains red food dye which was not listed on the can. I am allergic & after having eaten a small amount my entire face is itching.

If your considering Larsen Bay, beware, not a safe place for females.

Research public litigation, all employee reviews and listen to your gut when you don't get returned phone calls and emails. Look for the red flags, they will pop up everywhere. Do your home work and research with this company "extensively" before making a mistake.

I love working for Icicleseafoods. They have definitely played a big part in shaping me in the strong adventurous woman iam today. Thank you to all my bosses and foreman's who believed in me along the way. Godspeed.

expect to work from 7-12pm daily so 6 hours of sleep. expect to be rushed on your breaks meaning you get yelled at & expected to eat smoke,& be back in uniform which takes about 6 minitues to put on at exactly 30 minutes after you clocked out. recuriter said there was tv wifi & entertainment he lied my dorm was a trailer with the knob falling off you get one towel no wash cloth a can soda is 3 dollars a pair of socks 5 oh yeah and you wont get it until next day no broom to sweep your trailer no house keeping extreme mosquitos,bears ravens etc.Also experienced racial profiling at woodriver via danny don't waste your time if its not your last option they conduct business here on he say she say & very poorly I must say.
