Great food. Pub could do with a bit of an update but the food more than makes up for it

Helpful and pleasant landlord. Clean, tidy and one the best breakfasts I've had in years.

The food is amazing really tasty and very generous portions. Good beers and wines. The rooms spotless and spacious and comfortable beds. Exceptionally good value for money.

Generous portions and tastes great! They open later than the other pub up the road so great dinner option if you're staying in the area :)

Nice location, but the interior is a bit dated and odd entrance doors wasn't explained by staff a confusion. Only had a drink so can't comment on the food but the menu looked OK with our holiday landlord recommending it.

Lovely place, very friendly. Coped well with a party of 12 for lunch, food arrived on time and well cooked. Nice beer too.

Really good food, warm welcome and good service. We got there 15 mins before close of service but didn't feel rushed and the food was as good as the first minutes of service. First time there but will definitely call back.

Went for a Mothering Sunday lunch. Menu was excellent as was the food. Service also first class with plenty of efficient and smiling waitresses and waiters. The Huntsman has always provided excellent fold and service for many years at a very reasonable cost. Thanks for making the day special.

We love it here.. food is amazing and staff cant do enough for you. Best roast dinner when dining out. We travel from Newport, cant beat it. Highly recommend the steaks in the week too, you wont be disappointed. Plus outstanding customer service xx

We held our AGM here and have to say that the food and service was very good indeed. The roast dinner was very good and very very plentiful! The soup and sweet were also very good. The bar area is charming.

Old world charm with amazing food and drink and friendly staff. The rooms are a bit basic, but clean and functional, but the service and welcome is second to none. I go out of my way to visit the Hunstman whenever I'm in this part of the world.

Generous with their portions. They didn't skimp on the delicious meat or the veg. Attentive staff always happy to help. They were only let down by the lack of non-sugary drinks (I'm diabetic!). Be warned - when we went the 2 course Sunday lunch cost the same as the 3 course. Dangerous and irresistible for those of us with little or no will power!

Fabulous food, great quality and plenty of it , excellent staff couldn't do enough for us 6 ladies. This is my 2nd visit in 3 months with different family/friends and I will be back. The vegetarian and vegan options are some of the best and if you let them know before you visit that you require a special diet they go that extra mile. Great place to eat.

Dog friendly in the bar where you can also get food served.
As others have said, the prices aren't that low, but the portions are large and the food is good.
Decent beer on tap, selection of other drinks looks okay if you like that sorry of thing.
Decor is a touch 1973, but not offensively so.

Fantastic people in there, always helpful and will go out of they way to help when there can.

Called in on the way home from Christmas shopping and even though they were about to stop serving food they still obliged. Had a wonderful meal and the banana split is highly recommended

When ever I'm doing anything at the quarry as a diver I always stay here. It's not expensive, and the food is a good portion and tasty and sets me up for diving for the day. I usually then eat there in the evening while I then study. I'll be back their next year with my next course.

Looks dated & tired looking and had a musty - smell. Could be a very nice place.

I had my car stolen, after I was attacked in my sleep!!!!! then a couple of days later, I had my possessions stolen!!!!!! apart from that, the hotel is dated and smells funny!
