Great slider! Can be a wait for food. But it is worth it.
Little place, little burgers
Nothing special. $3.50 for a double cheeseburger that I could pay .99 cents for at McDonalds.
So this is one of my good friends favorite place to go and eat we went around Woodworth Dream Cruise and we stopped and had a burger and oh my God it was so good highly recommend had a great time
This place gives first-rate service and yummy food. One of my favourite spots in the area. The food came out rapidly and the rates were fair. Highly recommended.
If you know what sliders are, these are the best. The meat is fresh, never frozen; the onions thin so they brown up just right. Fries are hot, thin and just crispy enough. If you don't know what sliders are, where have you been?! Small (3 for a moderate appetite, 2 for a smaller one) fast grilled burgers, usually w cheese, grilled onions and toppings. These are not thick, can't get your hands around them burgers but they do make a delicious, fast meal at lunch or after a night on the town.
Dirty place. The dishes get scrubbed right in front of you as you're eating, just on the other side of the counter, in full view. There is a constant smell of dishes and detergent.
Sliders are okay, not great by any means. There are better places in the area to get your slider fix.
The place may look interesting from the outside, and may have a long history, the way it is right now there is simply no reason to walk inside.
This was my first time trying this restaurant, I ordered a cheeseburger. There was no cheese and probably a teaspoon of burger. Absolutely absurd that they think that is enough food for the price. But that explains all the signs; 'so- and- so' ate 50 burgers!
A blast from the past! Classic white and brushed metal greasy spoon specializing in old fashioned thin grilled burgers with chopped grilled onions on white buns mmm mmm good! (Pickle chips on the side.) Great thin fries. Also serves breakfast. Boomers love it, actually, so do all age groups! A Birmingham and Woodward Dream Cruise classic. Go there before its gone!! Downside: limited parking.
it's okay but I still think the best hamburgers and Sliders in the Detroit metropolitan area are at Monty's Grill in Royal Oak
Old school greasy burgers ( sliders) with fries or onion rings. My mouth waters just thinking of the place. Always busy for lunch, dinner and night crowds. It seems to have a constant flow of customers.
They have a chef making all the burgers by himself. There is a counter with stools and a whole lot of people who seem to be excitedly waiting for their food. In the fifteen years I have been in the area I know of no one who is not enamored with the place.
Staff is great, friendly and pay attention to the customers. Whoever hires and trains does a good job.
This is a place to pick up food, not eat in. It's not meant t be a sit down restaurant. It is part of the charm. You will never be disappointed going to Hunter House.
So good and so worth it! Make the stop. Making them classic sliders that are so good!!!
Burgers are good, but their potato products leave something to be desired. Greasy AF
Hunter House is one of those classic Detroit slider diners. White box exterior, stainless 1960's style interior. Maybe you've seen a few around, Brays, Telway, Comet. Their "sliders" are on par when it comes to taste compared to other acts in town, but their prices are up there. For the cost of a single slider at Hunters you can have FOUR at Telway or Brays. Lets face it, nothing is cheap in Birmingham and Hunters is no exception. When you have a craving, nothing but a onion covered slider will do, but if they were a little cheaper, maybe it would be more a weekly ritual rather than a once in a blue moon experience.
They were out side serving,so the burgers were soggy, fries Cold.
Good classic slider, but there are better in the metro area. Always takes a long time to get food.
I wasn't really impressed. I think they charge to much for what you get. I'd rather go to Five guys or Burger king!
I've been coming to hunter house since I was a baby.
I found the taste of the burgers unique but nothing special. I've tried the 2 times and found them to be dry and poor quality meat. There is several others around town that have sliders that are far better (Telway-OK, Bates-the best).
Love this place. Thanks to your staff for making the best cow and the rest of the amenities.
Grew up eating here in 80s and 90s. Now that I moved back to this area I bring my kids to eat here again.
Best sliders you can have ever.
Very good service and friendly.!! Way over priced. What I got was 9 dollars and didn't nearly fill me up. Feel like I got ripped off
Puts White Castle to shame...go the 2 xtra miles up Woodward to the best sliders ever
Been coming here for years, still the best sliders in town.
Quality has gone down had gressel and bone shards in my hamburger.
Food is consistently fast and easy but not very cheap for burgers and fries.
I order just the plainest and cheapest burgers they had and was still blown away
Always delicious. I'll go out of my way to get some hunter house sliders. And their food truck is just as good!
Hunter House sliders are things that people dream of. If you grew up around here you know what I'm talking about if if you didn't grow up around here you will be dreaming of this place from now on. Little hamburgers take up huge amount in your brain cuz you can't stop thinking about them
Its what you call a "Greasy spoon!" Food is good. However, it has a weird smell tonight. Wife and I thought it smelt like it they had a grease fire or something.
Good service and good burgers. Have been going there for years.
Good service, good music, but kitchen closed to early
A Woodward tradition. Great sliders and fries and the staff is always friendly. Lots of people around at all hours of the day.
The food here is very good but kinda on the pricey side like its 2.25 for 1 slider
This is a wonderful place. Extremely greasy, disgustingly unhealthy diner food...every good metro area must have at least a couple, and this is the best one around.
A Woodward Classic! Hunter House burgers are great and the staff rock!
Hunter House in Birmingham, Michigan is a superb delicacy. A classic American slider burger joint that has charm, a unique character & atmosphere has some of the best sliders you'll find anywhere! They've been in business for decades and have a very dedicated local following for a very good reason! Decorated in a very clever manner. And the food is absolutely delicious!
Fantastic burgers. We used to go here constantly when we lived in Royal Oak.
Local place out-of-towners have to stop and try, or if you been out of town for a while you have to hit it before you get back out again. Always ask about combos
The best sliders around. They have never messed up my order and I have been going there for about 12 years
good old time joint. i don t know why ie the butter on the grilled rye bread , but my all time favorite item is the grilled ham an cheese sandwich.
The Mrs. heard about this place on tv. A small hamburger place. Very busy, great sliders. I haven't had any 5his good since Top Hat.
Best sliders around in an iconic building/location. Even Mick Jagger thinks these are the best sliders there are. If you're up for it, try to get your name on the wall by eating an outrageous amount of them.
Magnificent place, cosy and friendly, and when you are in Michigan and you want to have the real burger taste... this is the place!
Working in Dallas, so when I go home to Detroit....I get my fix...Delicious
The best slider in Michigan Have been going there for 30 years
Really nice at home feel and some amazing freshly prepared burgers
Great food....need someone to clean all tables and counters!
