On Saturday, we had the pleasure of taking part in a helicopter lesson/flight with Hummingbird Helicopters Ltd. I had booked my husbands last year as a surprise for him. I didn't know, until he'd taken his lesson, that he had booked one for me too as a double surprise. I couldn't allow my female wimpy side to show and I'm glad I didn't. Andy, our Pilot, went along with this brilliantly and we both enjoyed an amazing experience in the skies. Neither of us had been in the air before and I was nervous but that didn't last long because Andy was so friendly and professional. We loved it and our certificates and little bottle of Prosecco at the end of our flight finished off an amazing day for us. I can't recommend Hummingbird highly enough. We're hoping that one of our sons can enjoy something similar to us next year. If you want a memory to remember, in the best of ways, you will love this experience. Amazing and friendly people who will make sure you love every minute of it.

What a totally brilliant experience! I had a thorough preflight chat and briefing before my 45 minute trial lesson with a very friendly and totally professional instructor. I have never flown a helicopter and he talked me through every aspect of the controls individually before letting me put it all together and get to feel the basics of flying the lovely helicopter...with lots of gentle advice and hints along the way. I would absolutely recommend a trial lesson at Hummingbird. Everyone there was so helpful and friendly ...a wonderful gift for my birthday and an unforgettable day!!

Amazing. I've gone through training for my PPL(H) with hummingbird, since day one they have been super helpful, open and upfront. All the staff are friendly and you feel as part of a family training there. They provide competitive prices which is essential for training and they are always reachable for advice, I can not recommended them enough especially for aspiring pilots who are looking to go commercial.
I have been intending to do my helicopter PPL for several years now and when I saw a Pilot Training open day hosted by Hummingbird Helicopters in February 2019 I decided it was time to seek out some more information. I attended the open day and had the chance to speak to Matt who explained in detail the training courses available to achieve my PPL. I also took advantage of the discounted experience flight on the same day and have been hooked ever since!
I have been training with Hummingbird Helicopters for a year now and I am approaching the halfway mark and looking forward to my next year of training as every moment has been exciting and very informative. I have also found them very flexible to fit me in around my busy lifestyle.

I was really trying to find a suitable present for my husband's birthday. Looked at track racing and other ideas. I found that on our doorstep we had Hummingbirds. Read all the details of what they had to offer and felt really sure it would be a great surprise. Everything went very smoothly, managed to keep it a secret. On the day it was just great to see the smile on my husband's face to know , that ,was indeed the surprise gift he really was so looking forward to. Matt was brilliant with everything and even flew over our golf course so hubby could see his partners on the fairways. We took pictures by the side of the helicopter and many friends have asked us about it. We certainly would recommend anyone wanting a special treat to give it a try. You won't regret it.
After first meeting Matt and Helen at an event in Doncaster, I arranged a trial lesson. What a thrilling experience! I have since been on three flights with Matt, one of which was tailored to what I wanted to do. We arranged to fly along the "Dambusters" training run over Derwent dams. A first for both Myself and Matt. This was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, never to be forgotten!
Beware helicopters are very addictive!
I also now regard Matt, Helen and little Tabby as my friends, not forgetting Maximus of course.
My son has also had a trial lesson and thoroughly enjoyed the day.

MY family gave me a half hour flying lesson for my 60th birthday. What a fantastic experience it was and such a brilliant present to receive. What also made it special was flying over an area that I had lived all my life and one I thought that I knew well, I was amazed how different it looks from the air. Matt was fantastic - arranging a buggy to the helicopter and helping her get in and get comfortable. The flight was amazing and my mum loved it.
