Huis Ten Bosch is located in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyushu. It moved the medieval Netherlands to Japan intact. The park has canals running through the city, various theme rides, shops, restaurants and hotels. In particular, the flowers mainly based on tulips combined with colorful gardens and various celebrations are known as one of the three major theme parks in Japan.

It s a big park so I d recommend renting a bike. My friend and I went there early November (2016) and the autumn foliage was in peak, making everything prettier. Food is surprisingly affordable. Not much rides or attractions but still worth a day of exploration.

The train lines going to Nagasaki were down during the day we went there. So we went there by Bus instead. We booked our Bus ride going back (to Fukuoka) before going inside the park.

Although I am buying a passport, depending on the content of the event, there are also charged. It takes one and a half hours from Nagasaki station. The light up in the park and the fountain show were beautiful.

. Overpriced entrance fee. We felt pestered to spend more money constantly even after getting the pass. The park looks cheap. Food is way below Japanese standard. The only good thing is flower and light show; but even that is not worth the hefty price (I would rather spend the money on some good food outside the park). Contrast with shinjuku gyoen where the entrance fee is only 200 yen and the view is better. Or compare with any international flower show. Or Disney, which I went to last week and had lots of fun just walking around and doing nothing much. It's worth visiting if entrance was ~500 yen.

I would only recommend the park to 50+ year olds who have never traveled outside of Kyushu their entire life. Beware the floor is very uneven.

It is not good to say that the admission fee and the vehicles inside are separate charges. You can take pictures for sure, but not enough is not enough. It is NO if you are told to go once more.

It's a great place to take your kids with you and enjoy it with your family. Especially sunny days.

The ferris wheel costs 700 yen (600 yen if you bring a passport), but it is up to 168 m. It was good to ride at night, but I think it would be better to ride when it is bright. At night, the lights were so strong that the photos weren't pretty.

My recommendation is Tower City Observatory, Horizon Adventure Plus. The observatory can be seen from the center of Huis Ten Bosch, and the Horizon Adventure is a kind of water show.

The building facades and visual atmosphere is great. I've never been to the Netherlands so I can't compare it to the real thing, but coming from Europe I was impressed. I visited because I wanted to see how the much of a European vibe the place had. The building facades, good quality of construction, landscaping , attention to detail and various vistas create a definite European feel. The feeling was ruined slightly by the incessant music that's streamed out everywhere and the strange dance performances in the central square, but I enjoyed just strolling around. The Dutch-facades are just that. A "street" of buildings is actually all one building on the inside, mostly containing Virtual Reality attractions or Japanese food outlets. Forego the sausages and try the Goto Udon or Lemon Steak, both local delicacies and delicious. The souvenir shops throughout the park are very repetitive and contain various combinations of Gouda cheese, ham, castella cake, and Grolsch beer. They often have samples of the food available to try. A whole block of the park has been designated "Thriller City" and is also mostly (zombie-based) VR attractions. To get the full impression, be sure to stroll round the back of the Amsterdam Hotel, as well as the harbour area and the forest village (a hotel made up of individual houses around a lake). Worth the visit for the impressive Dutch reconstruction and atmosphere, a bit thin on the things to do front.
