We have been here twice now for breakfast and enjoyed it both times. Staff are all lovely.
Not a good experience today definate change in customer experience. Long wait after ordering our classic afternoon tea no fruit scones no longer choice of sandwich Some cakes from chiller dried out base So all in all disappointing People waiting to order and long wait to provide food
Hufkins was one of our favourite places but think we will try one of the many alternatives in Burford
A little overpriced but a lovely place for breakfast. Plenty of vegetarian options too.
We bought a sourdough loaf, a raspberry cream roulade and an iced bun to take away.
The bun was nice.
Very nice tda rooms in the heart of the cotswolds.Excellent quality and great service.Do try it.
Good tea, scones, small size, reasonable prices, good service.
Such a disappointing experience.
We felt rushed from begging him to the end though the place wasn t packed or anything. When we arrived, the server asked us about the flavor of tea we d like to have even before we were seated. The other server didn t even say anything when she brought out the tea and when we said thank you. She basically slammed the tea pot and tea cups on the table too.
As for the food and tea, it was just average. Only good thing is that the portion is big.
I d say it s better off to stay away from here.
Great afternoon tea. Staff were flexible, even though we were late and it was busy. Tea would be better if the cakes were smaller - we could barely make a dent in the large cakes that came alongside the scones and sandwiches (though we were given a box to take the spoils home)!
Nice little venue in the busy town of Burford. Very prompt and friendly service.
A great place to visit the breakfast is super and the cakes are to die for
We come here for the afternoon tea and are never disappointed, quality everything and you get so much food!
Huffkins is a great place, children friendly good menu ,
Historic building very cute and querky basic lunches, brunches. All the usual suspects, quiche, baked potatoes, sandwiches etc. The afternoon tea looked really good and great cake selection. The cakes are the main attraction, coming from the bakery under the same ownership just nextdoor!!
Stopped for lunch, hot sausage roll and Almond croissant... Was delish, good covid restrictions in place, amazing service
Great place to have lunch or afternoon tea, food top rate, good menu and wonderful attentive staff.
Restaurant bigger than it looks with good decor and atmosphere with an adjoining shop/small courtyard cafe.
Worth visiting
Visited at the end of June, after relaxation of Corona lockdown. Considering the social distance, the store is large enough to accommodate one or two people. We sell classic sweets. The fruit cake was delicious. It seems to be famous in Japan.
Amazing carrot cake!!! I highly recommend it!! Very nice service
We stumbled upon this beautiful town and were told about this restaurant by a local. What an incredible suggestion. The food was absolutely excellent and the service was fast and friendly. The portion was big and the quaint feeling of the restaurant leaves one feeling fulfilled and wanting to go back! A must visit!
We have been here twice now for breakfast and enjoyed it both times. Staff are all lovely.
A bit expensive but for what you get it's good, good plate full of food.
Great place for a quick bite to eat good food and a lot of choice
Friendly staff, great food, relaxing atmosphere, in short: a wonderful experience!
Nice place to have tea, coffee, cake and scones. We had nice cuppa tea, hot chocolate and scones with jam and cream. Best scones I've ever had. Had to wait in a queue to get a place. Must be be very popular.
Great afternoon tea. I'm usually not very keen on scones but these were lovely...the loose leaf tea was really good. Only bit of feedback... The cakes were far to big.. I know what a thing to complain about right! ... However the reason being, because they are fresh cream very hard to cut and share so small individual cakes would have been easier... Still it was lovely.
I absolutely love this place they have the best bread and Full English breakfast. As it's attached to the Bakery it is a wonderful shop.
Americano smells wonderful and tastes strong. Carrot cake is good.
Perfect for afternoon tea in a beautiful Cotswolds village. Try any of their cakes (has tea time selection), tea or chai latte!
They serve salads, breakfast meals and sandwiches too.
Service very very good. Food outstanding! Loved it! Thank you
Tasty cappuccino. Shame they couldn't offer any gluton dairy free cake options
I love Hufkins, wonderful food, good selection, good prices
Great service, friendly staff. The tea room inside is very nice old stile looking. The cream tea what we had was very tasty. I recommend this place to everyone who travel trough Burford.
Lovely afternoon tea. Very substantial fresh sandwiches and great scones BUT customer service left alot to be desired. We were there for quite sometime with friends. We all had the afternoon tea...not the cheapest we've had. Yet at no point did anyone check we were happy or enquire if we required more tea and coffee. We asked for a doggie box, this was almost thrown at us....Such a shame given how good the food was. Do not rely on the fact that you are situated in a picturesque Cotswold village....customer service is still required, it's courtesy.
We finished a hike and came out onto the road opposite Huffkins, took it as a sign to pay a visit. Cafe was busy but we were served quickly. I ordered the lardy cake (warmed up) and tea. The cake is a dough type pastry with a sticky sugary coat. It was delicious but very sweet, the sugar hardened when the cake cooled which made it stick my teeth. Worth trying though
Third time back to Huffkins, introducing family members. Food always great and good selection.
Went there for breakfast. Food was very good but slightly pricey. Staff very friendly and pleasant surroundings.
Excellent food. We were made to feel totally comfortable and welcome.
I've just written in another post about tourist honeytrap and Burford is one! However a group of cycling friends stopped here on a Sunday ride and had a perfectly adequate light lunch.
Nice food in a very nice Cotswold town. Food all very fresh and tasty.
Toilets. please clean them
FANTASTIC CLOTTED CREAM, AND SCONES! LOVED THEM! The best ive ever had
Toilets, please clean them
Great service and food. Nice prices in a beautiful building
Delicious afternoon tea...and there is plenty of it!
Great place for lunch or a light bite. Afternoon teas are delighful
Immediately after relaxing the lockdown, take out. The crispy scones were delicious.
It's amazing that a small bakery in this small town has expanded to Japan. .. ..
Came here on a Monday afternoon and it was busy and I can see why! Had a Burford Tea and I would go so far to say it was exceptional! Polite attentive staff who are not pushy and they have a shop next door that give you 10% off if you show your receipt from the tea rooms. Could not fault it. Will definitely be returning soon!
Perfect rarebit, delicious high tea and don't miss out on the marvellous cakes in the bakery next to the tea rooms
Excellent... Highly recommended... Great good great service. Thank you
Very good service. Tasty food, huge portions. Loved it!
Visiting Burford, we found this small place where we made the typical afternoon tea. Great service and very friendly staff.
The food and location were alright, but everything else was pretty bad. The coffee was way too hot and tasted weird, and the staff didn't seem very happy to help. It was not worth the money. Also, they do not accept contactless payments, or mobile payments (such as Google Pay). If you are thinking about going here, just go into the Caffe Nero about 30 seconds up the road.
Love this place always visit when in Burford. Lovely service and food
Friendly helpful staff. Nice cakes and drinks. Sat in a nice little terrace at the back.
Service not great. Looks like too few staff putting the few under pressure
First rate service..old school.manners. sandwiches so full of fillings fork a must. Best scone ever and so many cakes!!!. We were offered a carryhome box..no waste and a special something for next days tea!!!
COVID compliance was well administered but in a cold, clinical fashion and when you add to that warm coffee and overpriced bland and uninspiring food, it amounts to a pretty disappointing experience. I can t say it was bad but it was neither good value nor pleasurable and I certainly wouldn t return.
Great service, great food ! Very good location - we will be back.
Gorgeous cake and good service. 4 stars as they pack you in so you're very close to neighbouring tables
I made a reservation in advance and asked for the food to be served immediately, but I started cooking when I arrived, so I didn't have enough time. Because it was a tour, it was hard to push the time. The taste wasn't that good
Very helpful and welcoming staff. Food was nice as well. Would Defo go back.
Located on the Main Street in the picturesque village of Burford. Kind of a traditional tea room, we had the afternoon tea which was scones, jam and cream with s big pot of tea. Generous portion and waitress brought our more cream. Nice afternoon tea, and other people s lunches looked nice. Reasonable price for what we had
Great middle of the day tea. Great ambiance and friendly.
Very nice pots of tea. We were unable to eat anything as they do not adequately cater for customers with multiple food intolerances. Thankfully i made my own wheat, dairy & soya free birthday cake to bring with me. They definitely need to widen their range.
