Not a good experience today definate change in customer experience. Long wait after ordering our classic afternoon tea no fruit scones no longer choice of sandwich Some cakes from chiller dried out base So all in all disappointing People waiting to order and long wait to provide food
Hufkins was one of our favourite places but think we will try one of the many alternatives in Burford

Such a disappointing experience.

Such a disappointing experience.
We felt rushed from begging him to the end though the place wasn t packed or anything. When we arrived, the server asked us about the flavor of tea we d like to have even before we were seated. The other server didn t even say anything when she brought out the tea and when we said thank you. She basically slammed the tea pot and tea cups on the table too.
As for the food and tea, it was just average. Only good thing is that the portion is big.
I d say it s better off to stay away from here.

Great afternoon tea. Staff were flexible, even though we were late and it was busy. Tea would be better if the cakes were smaller - we could barely make a dent in the large cakes that came alongside the scones and sandwiches (though we were given a box to take the spoils home)!

Historic building very cute and querky basic lunches, brunches. All the usual suspects, quiche, baked potatoes, sandwiches etc. The afternoon tea looked really good and great cake selection. The cakes are the main attraction, coming from the bakery under the same ownership just nextdoor!!

Restaurant bigger than it looks with good decor and atmosphere with an adjoining shop/small courtyard cafe.
Worth visiting

Visited at the end of June, after relaxation of Corona lockdown. Considering the social distance, the store is large enough to accommodate one or two people. We sell classic sweets. The fruit cake was delicious. It seems to be famous in Japan.

We stumbled upon this beautiful town and were told about this restaurant by a local. What an incredible suggestion. The food was absolutely excellent and the service was fast and friendly. The portion was big and the quaint feeling of the restaurant leaves one feeling fulfilled and wanting to go back! A must visit!

Nice place to have tea, coffee, cake and scones. We had nice cuppa tea, hot chocolate and scones with jam and cream. Best scones I've ever had. Had to wait in a queue to get a place. Must be be very popular.

Great afternoon tea. I'm usually not very keen on scones but these were lovely...the loose leaf tea was really good. Only bit of feedback... The cakes were far to big.. I know what a thing to complain about right! ... However the reason being, because they are fresh cream very hard to cut and share so small individual cakes would have been easier... Still it was lovely.

Lovely afternoon tea. Very substantial fresh sandwiches and great scones BUT customer service left alot to be desired. We were there for quite sometime with friends. We all had the afternoon tea...not the cheapest we've had. Yet at no point did anyone check we were happy or enquire if we required more tea and coffee. We asked for a doggie box, this was almost thrown at us....Such a shame given how good the food was. Do not rely on the fact that you are situated in a picturesque Cotswold village....customer service is still required, it's courtesy.

We finished a hike and came out onto the road opposite Huffkins, took it as a sign to pay a visit. Cafe was busy but we were served quickly. I ordered the lardy cake (warmed up) and tea. The cake is a dough type pastry with a sticky sugary coat. It was delicious but very sweet, the sugar hardened when the cake cooled which made it stick my teeth. Worth trying though

Came here on a Monday afternoon and it was busy and I can see why! Had a Burford Tea and I would go so far to say it was exceptional! Polite attentive staff who are not pushy and they have a shop next door that give you 10% off if you show your receipt from the tea rooms. Could not fault it. Will definitely be returning soon!

The food and location were alright, but everything else was pretty bad. The coffee was way too hot and tasted weird, and the staff didn't seem very happy to help. It was not worth the money. Also, they do not accept contactless payments, or mobile payments (such as Google Pay). If you are thinking about going here, just go into the Caffe Nero about 30 seconds up the road.

COVID compliance was well administered but in a cold, clinical fashion and when you add to that warm coffee and overpriced bland and uninspiring food, it amounts to a pretty disappointing experience. I can t say it was bad but it was neither good value nor pleasurable and I certainly wouldn t return.

I made a reservation in advance and asked for the food to be served immediately, but I started cooking when I arrived, so I didn't have enough time. Because it was a tour, it was hard to push the time. The taste wasn't that good

Located on the Main Street in the picturesque village of Burford. Kind of a traditional tea room, we had the afternoon tea which was scones, jam and cream with s big pot of tea. Generous portion and waitress brought our more cream. Nice afternoon tea, and other people s lunches looked nice. Reasonable price for what we had

Very nice pots of tea. We were unable to eat anything as they do not adequately cater for customers with multiple food intolerances. Thankfully i made my own wheat, dairy & soya free birthday cake to bring with me. They definitely need to widen their range.
