Extremely helpful and kept a closeful watch on us ...
Extremely helpful and kept a closeful watch on us which as a complete novice with a 7 year old gave me such a level of comfort.

Beautiful place and everyone at Hudson River Expeditions was great. Super friendly from check in to boat launch. Constitution Marsh itself is gorgeous, definitely worth exploring. Just make sure to look up the easy to find access times on the HRE website. As it is a marsh, exit and entry times depend on the tides (low tide there's not enough water to prevent grounding). If you're not planning on a marsh visit, your schedule is more flexible.
The people who work here are pretty off putting. Like dude, it's a kayak rental service. Calm down your pretentiousness
Was enjoying myself until some uptight employee approached me in the middle of the water and reprimanded me about my distance from shore and "paying attention" when I'm taking pictures; then "reminded" me to come back to shore on time. Then he approached me a second time to ask when I'm coming back to shore and insulted me to say "you look like you don't know what you're doing." I've been kayaking several times in Fl and I've never encountered anyone so deliberately rude who badgers customers until coming here.
Obnoxious and unnecessary; I'll find another company to rent from. There's plenty of them in this area.
We had a great time! Went with a bunch of veterans. The staff was great.
Good kayaks, lots of variety and very friendly staff.
On the day of our visit we were advised against taking a baby on the river due to windy and we were glad we listened to the staff's advice. We have rented from them once before, and the staff was consistently friendly and helpful. We will be renting from them in the near future.
Fantastic establishment. Helpful and responsive staff through both email and phone queries. My guides for the Destination Waterfall Tour, Reina and Ken, were amazing for both kayak instruction and local anecdotes such as a certain wicked witch's castle in the distance, and a cautionary tale of the invasive Water Chestnuts.
This was the highlight of my trip to Cold Spring, and I'd definitely love to make this the focus of an upcoming day-trip!
Nice people, good equipment. They initially limited us to a pretty tiny range -- it took us less than an hour, going slowly, to cover all of it. When they saw that we were comfortable in the kayak, and could handle ourselves okay, they let us range a little further. We saw an otter and cormorant in the nearby marsh, which was nice. Overall, we had a very satisfying experience enjoying the Hudson from a new perspective!
I have a membership here. It's great. This is my 3rd summer kayaking. I love the people and the experience. The hudson river caan be calm and serene or upbeat and exciting.
It's worth a visit. It is worth the money. Just wear proper clothes abd bring a plastic bag or something waterproof to protect your phone in case you capsize. I've seen it happen to people. Don't be littering Lucy. Bring your plastic and trash back to shore.
Great time! I was a first time kayaker and nervous; breast cancer survivor. Your guide was great about calming me and encouraging me; he offered great tips and directions but also let me get the feel before offering help.
Very helpful and knowledgable. They also seem to really care and know a lot about the area.
Wonderful spot. Must go if haven't been. Friendly staff. Well run business where you can count on having a good time.
We just had the worst experience with these people. My husband and myself were taking our three kids plus niece and nephew so we had two tandem kayaks and a canoe. My husband, daughter and son capsized in the water and the staff was soooo unhelpful or completely unconcerned for their safety. One guy stood on the shore yelling for us to take care of the boat and paddles while another came out on the water and went straight to retrieve the canoe. Did not check on the people in the water, saw that my husband was holding our terrified 7 yo son and kept telling him to worry about the canoe because it s $1000 . As they swam to shore, I got the other kids out of the water and the other four guys are sitting eating sandwiches. I asked them if anyone was going to help my family rather than worry about the damn boat and got another well that s a $1000 canoe. We complained to the owner who said they didn t think you guys were unsafe . The thing is no one assessed or even asked so how would they know. All anyone cared about was their equipment. Never going here again. Luckily everyone was fine, but if something had been going seriously wrong, which it can on water with 5 kids, these people would have been zero help. In retrospect, no one bothered to even ask if we were experienced, was it our first time etc. Totally callous and not prioritizing safety at all.
Went out with my family. It was our first time. We took a canoe. The guy said it didn't matter who sat where when it clearly did . No briefing on anything. Long story short. We got caught in a current. We flipped over with my 7 and 9 year old girls. The guy who towed us was excellent and soothing. A nice kayaker stayed by us until we got towed back. Worst experience!
Very well equipped and pleasant to deal with. Highly recommend checking out this oufitter.
Great service. Called ahead to reserve 2 canoes. Staff was friend, and process was very smooth. Friends and I had a blast!
great place to get out of city and kayak or SUP. Marsh Sanctuary and waterfall.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. Had a great time!
Hudson River Explorations team ran a great kayaking on the Hudson. Lunch could have been better for the price. Bannerman island staff didn't have their act together
Good for guided tours, rentals and instruction as advertised. Not a good place to buy a kayak.
Incredibly professional, friendly and pleasant kayaking experience from a very convenient riverside location.
Had a great time. Parking is also easy next to train station. Town is beautiful .tons of activities after kayaking.
Excellent kayak outfitter and guide service. Brian sold me a Tempest 170 kayak in the midst of COVID-19 closures and it was a seamless experience. He was super helpful, has a beautiful shop and is very friendly/responsive. Looking forward to getting back up to Cold Spring to do some paddling with him on the Hudson in the future.
Great location, great people, great kayaking on the Hudson!
I just love this place! Great kayaking! Great equipment! Lovely people working there.
The staff are extremely helpful and thay are very informative until you can and can't boat and thay inform me about high tide and low tides would definitely recommend them and I did already recommended them for a lot of friends are family.
My 10 year old son recently stated we never did anything fun. I reminded him how we had to create our own fun when I was a kid. All he lacked was imagination and a bag of glass. Well, maybe he was right. We'd been kayaking before in Long Island a couple years back and he had loved it. So over Memorial Day Weekend, we booked a nature kayak tour at Hudson River Expeditions. He even rocked his own kayak. The staff and tour were superb. Learned a lot and had a blast. And the kiddo has been happy ever since.
