I had made an order for a deck at a big box store. I waited 3 weeks waiting for expected delivery and they then added another month with a maybe it will be in by then. So I called around. Howe had everything I needed for pressure treated lumber. Ya and they delivered for free the next day. I was stoked to get started thank you Howe Lumber!
40-year customer and I will never walk into there again! Wanted to purchase Pressure treated pine, 8 feet long, they didn t have it. They were willing to sell me 16-foot-long boards and cut them in half, for a dollar per cut. The salesman at the counter said we usually don t charge when it s 2 or 3 cuts but when you get 4!! I mentioned that I needed them cut because they were out of stock on the 8 footers, he really didn t seem to care. I ve had Howes cut lumber for free many time over the last 4 decades, never took advantage of this service. During a pandemic, they must be doing so well that they let customers walk away, buying nothing, rather than providing a simple curtesy. Hello, Home Depot and Lowes

Called beforehand to make sure they had yard timber of the size and dimensions needed. They said they had "tons", drive 30 minutes and they were completely out of them. They had been out of that size for weeks....So much for trying to support local.
Rich a sales person had the best customer service skills in all the times ive been there. He is the reason 5 stars rating this time. I will ask for him in the future for help with painting supplies.

After a fire and poor incident with contractor we came pretty prepared and we have yet to get a designer to even speak with us. 3 weeks only responds to emails no updates and here is her advice

What a sad experience. Rude and extremely unprofessional. Back to Home Depot I go. I really wanted to support local business but I refuse to pay more and be treated worse. At least the people at Home Depot and Lowes are nice.

This is the local place for you lumber and construction needs. They help pro's and weekend warriors alike. The prices are competitive as well. The staff is friendly and helpful. Whenever I am looking for tools or material this is the first and last place I go.
Purchased 8' of birch lumber it looked short after the guy cut it from a 12' but I didn't have a tape measure and I didn't want to be "that" guy to ask for verification but got home to find it 9.5" short !!! Called immediately and asked for the manger who sent a new board 1' longer than I purchased! While the problem was resolved quickly and fairly easily it should have never happened in the first place short changing customers is never good practice!!!!

Ordered a countertop & paid for it on Jan. 30th. Was told backordered but would arrive at Howe Lumber on February 15th. Got there today Feb 17th only to be told it's not there. Got an apology and was given my order number so I would have that. No reason given for the poor customer service and total lack of follow through! No offer of a discount or compensation. I won't buy anything there again. No one has spare time to run back and forth needlessly! I only have weekends. And this would have been handled better at Lowe's for sure!
