Went to Afterthe ER Fri evening and was diagnosed ...

Went to Afterthe ER Fri evening and was diagnosed with pancreatitis and they decided to just send me home with so.e nausea meds and a few pain pills but after about 12 hrs I ended up going back because the pain and vomiting had gotten much worse. I was admitted but then being in the hospital for just a little over a DAY the hospitalist says he's going to start my diet again and they decide I'm all better, even though I'm still in a lot of pain and vomiting, and send me home. He said he was going to send me home with more pain meds but upon discharge I was told that I was just given a prescription 2 days prior from the ER and I just needed to use that. I had told them on at least two separate occasions and also informed the nurse that those medicines did not help me and that is why I ended up back in the emergency room and why I was ultimately admitted. So here I now sit and am hurting so much. I wish I could call and talk to someone about this because it's beyond ridiculous. I told the nurse I'm probably going to end up back in the ER and she was basically like well if that's what you need to do. She even saw me getting sick earlier before they added my diet back. Howard did this to me once before, made me try and eat after only 1 day of bowel rest and I ended up having to go back into the hospital but I went to a different one because I wasn't gonna waste my time going back there. Typically when I'm admitted for pancreatitis I'm there at least 4-7 days minimum. Gonna see who I can call to file a complaint to. my arm looked awful after removing my IV. The
Ivacted like it was going bad so they just wrapped it up with the bandage they wrap your arms up in after a blood draw. They just kept wrapping it and even put a folded washcloth on it to absorb the blood because it was leaking blood. I told them it hurt but they said oh it doesn't look infiltrated so we will just baby it and see what happens. I'm SO frustrated and beyond irritated with this whole thing! Total disregard for me and my diagnosis. No care or concern from the nurse or doctor. It was and still is unbelievable

No one cares about you here. You will be waiting literally all day to see someone. No one comes in to check on you. No one even dares to glance in your room to make sure you're not dying. If you want to die, this is the place to do it because no one will stop you. In fact, they'll sit on their computers whether you're bleeding or dying so have at it.

The radiology department is very good. You won t have to wait long and their instruction through the imaging process is clear and detailed for best results. The hospital feels different since my last visit. I believe positive changes have been made. And Big Ben s is great.

Excellent staff! Staff on both shifts were friendly and compassionate. They were always checking in on my husband and asking us if we needed anything. ER staff was wonderful as well! Would most definitely drive the 40 minutes there rather then the 10 minutes to the hospital here.

Doctor refused to fill out Fmla paperwork. Even though I've got a serious health condition and was seeing an out of town doctor for over 10yrs. This out of town doctor did fill out my FMLA papers but not H.C.H. doctor even though I have confirmed, by MRIs and other tests that my conditions are serious. Tried explaining I was using up all my vacation time for his appts. Procedures etc. But this place refused to do so even though I qualify and have qualify before. I explained after I use up all my vacation days I can no longer go to any more doctor appointments or Procedures because I have no more vacation time left and they would be unexcused absences to which I will be fired and worse loose my health insurance. Tried to explain he's my treating physician snd he has to fill out these papers not my primary care physician who isn't treating me for these conditions. His office and staff both stated he would only do it if I have surgery. Fmla is not just for surgery! It is for a SERIOUS HEALTH CONDITION !! I don't believe these ppl know that ppl like me NEED FMLA for taking time off for appts and procedures and for flare ups from the conditions we suffer from which may require missed days. NOT JUST SURGERY.
Can't believe they don't "get it" ???
What do they expect after someone uses up all their vacation and sick days off do to? Just miss work and get fired and lose their insurance? Really? Wth? What the hell is wrong with some of these doctors? What don't they get it? If a person has a serious health condition and i do and have had for over 10 years. Then we qualify for FMLA , THE WHOLE PURPOSE IS SO WE GET TIME OFF FOR DOCTOR APPTS, PROCEDURES, CHRONIC CONDITIONS ETC....SO WE DON'T LOSE OUR JOBS and INSURANCE.
This unexcusable for a Doctor or Hospital to refuse to comply to a federal law that specifically states a "SERIOUS health condition qualifies for FMLA".
These doctors and hospitals or facilities should be fined for not complying with a FEDERAL LAW!!

The worst emergency room experience ever. I arrived around 830 am in excruciating pain in my lower back when ever I move. They did a cat scan of my stomach looking for kidney stones but would not do an Mrs of my back to check for herniated discor anything the pain meds I had taken prior did not touch the pain. They gave a shot that did not touch the pain then act like they were put out because I could not walk because I was i so much pain. I had a similar experience about 6 years ago and didnt want to go back there but that is where my husband took me I didn't have a choice. I left 4 hours later in no better position then when I arrived. They acted like I was there for pain Pills and I told them I wasn't they didn't change their attitudes. I can go to pain most and get pain pills because I have a real medical situation that requires it but I dont want too get addicted to them so I have been putting it off. These people were so rude and in the end didn't help me at all.

This is literally the worst hospital I have been to. I do not leave reviews or complain, however, you all need to know this information and so does the hospital! Went in because I could not feel the entire left side of my body at all. I had no pain or temperature sensation and sever pain in upper neck on the right side. They took blood samples and took an MRI of my brain and the Doctor came back and said we found nothing and that the left sided numbness is unexplainable and your neck pain may be a muscle spasm... they sent me home from the ER with nothing but that information. I go to a different hospital the very next day to their ER with the same symptoms and turns out I had Multiple Sclerosis and they found lesions in the brain. If I never got a second opinion I would more than likely be paralyzed and suffer more sever symptoms of MS if not treated in time. The staff at this hospital is warm welcoming and nice however, this is a huge misdiagnosis that should never happen to anyone and could have been way worse if I did not go somewhere else the next day. I advise to go somewhere else if you can.
