Excellent location, right on the boardwalk. The room and the bathroom were small, but decent enough. My only complaint was beach towels were not provided, and neither were there any towels at the pool/hot tub area. And the walls are thin, so you can sometimes hear others in the corridor.

Overall, it's a good enough hotel with no major complaints but nothing outstanding either.

Stayed on Memorial Day and the staff was really nice. The room was nice microwave, half fridge, and flatscreen with cable. Bathroom looked updated but small and the AC worked great. The balcony had a great view of the ocean and boardwalk. Brass Balls bar is right next door for cold drinks and good food just a little slowwith service. I would stay again but not unless it was July or August because it was cold and windy.

The overall hotel stay way decent. However, I was over charged for an extra day and never reimbursed. When speaking to the manager, she was very rude, extremely unprofessional and not helpful at all. At one point she refused to talk to me and said that she could not help me. Also refered to my accompanied guest as "you people" in one conversation. Tried to tell corporate about the exchange and the extra day that I was charged, but they did not alleviate the issue either. Basically, it was pushed under the rug and they "stole " money from me. The hotel, as a building...good. the treatment of guests by supervision staff.. grotesque and unbelievably disgusting.

I stayed in the king size oceanfront suite, which had a to die for view and breeze coming from the ocean. The staff was very welcoming and helpful as far as luggage service, recommendations of nearby restaurants and services. Located on 12th street on the boardwalk so all you have to do is walk out your hotel and your on the boardwalk near all the shops, theme park, and of course the ocean. Indoor pool and spa incase you get a little rain shower and still feel like going for a dip. Brothers pizza and bar located in the hotel which includes a breakfast buffet and drink service. Parking garage is next to the hotel instead of connecting to it,so only downside is that, but is included with your stay(no elevator in garage either). Overall very great stay for your stay in Ocean City Maryland

Priced higher than others. Pool has been dirty the entire time we have been here, guests really need to follow the rules and rinse sand off! My daughter and I are kind of bummed because we really wanted to use the pool. BUT the room is clean and nice. Microwave and refrigerator in room. Firm King bed sleeps great! Staff has been super nice and helpful. Great location, 12th street, not too far and not too close to busy activities. Breakfast was not good at restaurant and we saw bartender NOT WASHING HANDS after smoking...yuck! Ocean City Beach is awesome, lifeguards communicate well and I love it!

Restaurant breakfast was ok, everyone seemed rush and not very helpful. Food was ok, nothing special. Great view!!! The pizza looked amazing, wished we would have gone there for that instead!!!

The hotel has a lot of character. The room was very clean and had a great view of the ocean. The staff was super nice and helpful. I only wish i had more time to enjoy the pool. Will definitely stay here again.

Location is good: on the boardwalk. Friendly staff. Room was clean. Balcony is small and narrow and the screen was broken. Indoor pool is very small and not accessible 24-hrs. Building is old but superficially renovated. Small TV with no on-demand programs. Mattress was not comfortable. Water pressure was low. Only 1 ice machine on the ground floor. No vending machines but front desk sells some snacks. Hotel's bar and Brother's pizza has good view but food is horrible and overpriced.

Great location right on the beach. Friendly staff. Room was a little on the small side but acceptable. The boardwalk is one step out the front door. About 1.3 miles from Jolly Rodger amusement park.

The ONLY complaint I have is that there was not a bathtub and only a shower. This did NOT work well with an uncooperative and exhausted 3 year old. BUT with that said, I was not in charge of booking the room (I.e I didnt get to research first!), it was done on a whim to extend our vacation for a day. The hotel itself was in great shape, clean rooms, wonderful view, great location on the boardwalk with restaurants and shops all around, and the few employees I had contact with were just wonderful. Overall, aside from the shower/bathtub thing which I could make work for a night or 2, I'd definitely stay here again!

What I liked most about the Howard Johnson is the location and the staff hence why I'm giving it 4 stars. Upon check-in, I was greeted my the receptionist Mary who was so delightful and patient. The hotel is located right on the boardwalk by the infamous Brass Saloon's. They have a really good Italian Restaurant connected to the hotel. I suggest you get some Pizza & Pasta during the course of your stay. We were able to rent bikes at a reasonable price of 7/hr right in front of our hotel.
The only thing I will say is that it's a bit on the pricey end of 300/night for rooms that are tiny. I booked a double room for 4 people and the bathroom could barely fit one person at a time. I really liked the fact that our room has a porch that faces the boardwalk so at night I sat & watched the fireworks.

A very good experience. The hotel has been totally renovated and the convience of just walking directly out to the beach is fantastic. I highly recommend coming here for the stay and the ability to walk right out and go straight to the beach!

Nice location. The room was right on the boardwalk. Okay price for a boardwalk room reserved for the week before memorial Day weekend, booked the day before arrival. The room had a musty odor and my wife and I had a couple of items missing from our room. Nothing of significant value but items that indicated someone went through our belongings. We reported the missing items to the manager who asked for our name and number, even though we provided that info during check-in. Have not had any follow-up from the hotel. Also, I left my diabetic testing kit in the room at checkout needless to say, I never expect to see it again.

Decent place to grab breakfast on the boardwalk. The omelet were good and the waffles with fresh fruit got the seal of approval from my 16 year old. Coffee was fresh and not bad but a little week.

Great location by the boardwalk. The staff was nice, but it wasn't the cleanest hotel I've stayed in. The hottub was dirty, and I could tell our bathroom wasn't cleaned well. I didn't have a problem cleaning it though. The ac was low, and whoever built the elevators put the sensor on the wrong side. People were getting confused to why it wasn't closing right. Overall it was a great stay, just needs some major updating.

Staff was very nice. The buffet needs to include healthy option like oatmeal, more variety of fresh fruit. Menu needs to be updated to more healthy items, eggs whites, avacodos, veggie omlets

We stayed here on vacation and let me tell you the rooms were super clean and the view from the oceanfront rooms was fantastic! The staff was great and it was right next door to the Brass Balls Saloon which offers an awesome happy hour! It will be our go to hotel for years to come!
