Houston's First Baptist Church Review

Got to go there and visit my good friends on my last trip to Houston. I love the atmosphere and staff!

Amazing church! We joined it after visiting many church throughout the city. Pastor Gregg is fabulous and his joyful spirit and excellent Bible teaching make Sundays a favorite time of our week. I highly recommend it.

This place is great! Make sure you join a Sunday school class though! If you go to church but never the class you're missing out!

Great church, Pastor Gregg gives great sermons. Get yourself plugged in and meet great people.

A very organized church with plenty services to members and its community. Church with congruent and appropriate teaching, values and services. Our family love this church community. Highly recommended to visit!

Highly recommend the classes before service followed by the larger service. Overall amazing biblical place full of people who will LOVE and care for you right where you are in your life. Bring your true self and let the Lord meet you where you are at.
Also has a wonderful coffee bar and Christian book store!

Love this church! People are down to earth and friendly. I like that they have a lot of opportunities to serve people all over Houston. I have also really liked the small classes that I have attended. They make a large church feel small. It's nice to be a part of a community.

Houston's First is a place that encourages you to enrich your personal relationship with the Lord. The worship experience brings all the congregation, Christian family, together to praise and worship Jesus Christ. My husband and I are encouraged and learn much from Pastor Greg's lesson each week. We have support and love from members of our Life Bible Class. There is always a opportunity to serve others. Just an all round biblical experience.

While a beautiful campus with very friendly people, the sermons have gotten a little too political and exclusive for my taste.

Firat time visitor on memorial day weekend and it was a heartfelt service. Loved that it had Lots of diversity but the sermon didnt neccesarily speak to me.

Love this church. Been attending and members here for years. They are very family friendly. My kids lover their classes. The service and music are wonderful. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a church.

Pastor Gregg Matte has brought out depth and breadth in book studies ever since I've been attending back in 2011and life bible study is where the fellowship is, truly a balanced body

One of the best churches in the whole city and I ve been to many. This church has something going on all of the time. They do a great job with making a big church feel small (community). Amazing work around the world. World class facilities for all ages. Good food. Oh and they love Jesus and preach the word!

Probably THE best church you could ever go to. Pastor Gregg preaches in the best way possible and the singers,orchestra, band,choir,kids choir, and the student choir are absolutely AMAZING. The special needs ministry is awesome. So is the kids ministry and the student ministry. There's a spot for everyone of every kind in the church and I and my friends and family have learned SO Much about the Bible and God. They support so many families and people all over the world through missions and giving. They have never and never will turn(ed) anyone down. This church is a big part of my family! This is THE best church for anyone.

I don t live in Houston but travel here frequently. When I m in town for the weekend I attend here very friendly and true to the word.

This is my home church. Pastor Greg truly does an amazing job considering in all he does. Worship is always top notch and spiritual. The church community is one big family.

My second home! Love this church, my family and I move to Houston 2 years ago , we connected the very first time. We love the pastor , atmosphere and people.

I ve been to this church since I was one. I have grown in spirt and in faith, I love the people and the pastor I wouldn t have it any other way!

I have been there only once, when I was on vacation in the Lake Conroe area, but watched their online services in the last couple of months. I felt really encouraged and blessed by Pastor Gregg's teaching and preaching. Great job! A highly recommended church. I would definitively visit again. Wear the mask . Protect Texas.

This is a really beautiful church high tech and very modern. Everyone is pretty nice here and the church makes it easy for first time visitors, offering shuttle parking and greeters. I don't really like the atmosphere or the music style, but the lesson is really good.

Enjoy this church and enjoy the Bible study class I am in. The women are caring and truly Christian women. The church itself does not stay within the four walls, it goes out and ministers and missions to other parts of the world . They are also were a big part, as other churches were in town, in the aftermath of the hurricane . The service is a Bible teaching service, as it should be. We go to the second service.
I do not care for the music. It is what you hear on Christian radio therefore it is very repetitive. Yes, you are to sing praises to the Lord. But I wish there was more concentration on the actual Bible teaching.

The special needs ministry is second to none. The children's ministry- from babies to teens- is 2nd to none. The music ministry- teens, choir, band, orchestra- 2nd to none. The pastor and the staff- 2nd to none. If you've been looking for a church- look no more.

We threw our son a birthday party here and it was so much fun! We had a nice big room to set up in and a bouncy house was blown up for the kids. It had everything, bowling lanes just for us, pool tables and an indoor playground. It was not expensive either. I highly recommend throwing any kind of party here for kids.

Super. Gods word taught well. Pastor Gregg is a great teacher building up Christs people to maturity.

If you like fairy tails, bigotry, racism, xenophobia, and hate, this is the place for you! Also the home of the man that represents all those hateful people...Mr. Ted Cruz and family.

This is a church that believes in young adults! I'm so grateful for the community i found here. There are so few young, singles, Christian groups in Houston, but this one is great! I go to a bible study called Lighthouse on Sunday nights at 6:30pm and I highly recommend it to anyone between the ages 21-26. :)

Family friendly. Great special needs program. Free coffee. God filled. Great pastor. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Great facilities, awesome opportunities for young adult singles to meet and walk alongside other young adult singles in the pursuit of growing in their faith, and very friendly people.

The main service music and message caters to a large crowd and to other campuses in the greater Houston area. Can lead to the feeling of disconnection, and the message can lack depth at times.

Overall, not a bad place to be.

Love this church. Been attending and members here for years. Great people, sharing truth and encouraging each other through life.

I am making this my Church home. Greg makes everything about Jesus, the way it should be. I liked everything about it and you have a great sense of security knowing that you're worshiping with Christians alike.

I reside in Michigan now but I very much consider this my church home still and Pastor Greg is still awesome and the friends I made, I'm happy that they've grown and gotten married, children, new careers, ect... God is good.

This has become my family! There is so much love to share here, both horizontally with your neighbor and vertically with our Father, that you will sense God's Holy Spirit alive and well among us, working powerfully to comfort and sustain us.
