Pastor Gregg is a Teacher of the word. Unadulterated and uncompromised. Love this Church!

Pastor Gregg Matte is an excellent Bible teacher and preacher. The music (whatever your preference is) is outstanding. We love it here.

I attended this church with my partner and his mom for Mother's Day. I was expecting a simple Mother's Day message, but instead heard a decisive, political sermon that projected an "us versus them" mentality to the congregation. There was even a portion of the sermon where this pastor flat out said that Christians shouldn't be friends with atheists. I hope to never go there again.

Above anything I have experienced before! It's about Jesus and Him alone!

Visited this church's recreation and fitness center for a birthday party. Nice, clean facility with lots of space. The children's area was a good indoor playground, nothing fancy, but indoor fun for kids is always fine with me.

The parking lot was clean of litter and not too busy early afternoon on a Sunday which was surprising.

The only thing I think that could be improved is the fact that the stairs to reach the top of the fitness center is on the middle of the kids area and says, no kids upstairs. That was a little strange for me because every kid I know is curious and all it takes is a second and they'd be upstairs. Thankfully, I kept my eyes on my little ones, but I know everyone isn't as mindful.

Love how pastor Gregg delivers the message. I don't feel judge because he composes and speaks like a normal human.

I love the community of this amazing church. The songs set up the sensational speech the pastor gave. I also love the youth ministry led by a wise man. I recommend everyone come here

Excellent service, friendly staff the seating is set every other row and people are social distancing correctly. The music and sermons are great though I felt uncomfortable when certain individuals decided to unmask when singing along with praise songs. Other than that very good facility.

I went to the Candlelight services here on Christmas Eve. All 3 services were beautiful. If you want to find a church which teaches the Bible as the inerrant Word of God, and has a heart for World Missions, and ministries to help those with the daily struggles we all face, then you should visit this church. You will be challenged to have a real relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Your life will never be the same.

THE FIRST COMMUNITY IS A EXTRORDINARY VENUE IT BRINGS ST THOM SUCH PLEASURE TO HAVE

Very nice church to come to. The staff is always courteous and helpful, the facility is ALWAYS neat & clean, there's lots of bible study groups, service is always a great experience. It's just a comfortable atmosphere to be in. Hear the word of God, and have fun doing it. VERY highly recommended to visit.

I would give zero stars if possible. Went to this church to watch a baptism of a friend and literally wanted to walk out the moment I started towards the doors because the greeter (an old lady mind you who is probably at risk of getting covid herself), wasn't wearing a mask. Not only that but MULTIPLE people were not wearing masks while in the common areas! Especially during the service! It's like once these people sat down, they thought they were in a covid safe bubble!! I was told masks were encouraged but not mandatory. Seriously what a joke. Considering this church is supposed to be all about a faith that cares about people, it's members/staff are really showing that they don't care about people. 10/10 will avoid this place for the rest of my life. And I'll probably live a long life by avoiding it too, especially if this church has a covid outbreak.

I wonderful place to learn the teachings from the bible. Went here as a child of God, now its time to take my child and show him the path of righteousness.

I LOVE this church and everything it has to offer. My family attended a different church for years previously, then begun visiting different churches, but we never felt like we really fit there and felt so much like an "outcast" and they never felt like a good fit. We decided to try Houston's First (main campus) and never stopped going! This church has a group FOR EVERYONE. Literally, everyone. Are you struggling with a problem? There is a group for it! Are you divorced, a single parent, changing your life after a lifetime of living the wrong way, a recovered addict, or even a blended family and haven't been able to meet others who you feel are like you? Please try this church!! If there's one thing that I cannot express enough to people it is the IMPORTANCE of CONNECTING with a group! This is how you plant your roots. Pastor Gregg speaks the truth, the worship music is great. Also, do you have kids? This place is one of the best decisions you can make for their lives. Their children's ministry is amazing and I've never seen anything like it. Great church, great people, great messages.

I've been attending or live-streaming the service since '08. Friendly people, pastors and great service.

We love visiting Houston's First on the loop while we are in town. Pastor Gregg preaches straight from the word of God.

The preaching here is great and they have probably the best set-up for single people anywhere. Many of the nicest people you ll ever meet also go to church here.

Celebrate Recovery is on Thursdays @ 6pm, 4th floor. Pizza and salad served before recovery meeting.

Only here for bus to take to President Bush and Barbara s funeral . Very big and lots of helpful people

Great time for worship, excellent preaching centered on Christ and grounded in the Word. Very blessed to be there.

I feel the presence of the Lord there the message was straight from the Bible the people there really make you feel welcomed the music is wonderful I was fed spiritually and the Holy Spirit is fully in this church

Pastor Gregg and Dr. David Self and their staff are loved by the church members. We have been attending this church for 14 years now, we have been taught Christian principles, live Bible Study is very informative and useful. Over the years, we were taught a strong core of Christian faith. When you find a genuine church, you will be able to spot a counterfeit one easily. This is a must attend church. Thank you Lord for the church and the body of Christ at HFBC.

My son and daughter in law go here. I liked Sunday school but I have knee trouble and this is a very large church. Lots of walking

Beautiful place with loads of games for adults and kids.

I just hope the management will look into some of the equipment's such as the ping pong bats that are old, thus the pads are peeling off and also the pool table needs a lil touch of love, we couldn't find the chalk for our cue stick nor the powder .

Additional plus is that there is security and loads of parking.

God is working in this place. Big church but they interact like a small country church. They are about God's business.

Love this church LOVE IT!
Pastor Gregg is young, energetic, clear. Furthermore and most importantly, he really teaches you the Gospel as it is. He has series and now we are learning the series of Skeptics. It has been awesome, we can use so much of the information we heard, with ppl that are skeptics and non believers. Love it!!
He shows us what good or bad can brings us. He talks about all the beautiful things and gifts and sacrifices Jesus did for us and for our sins, but, he also talks about our nation problems such abortion, homosexuality, gay marriage, therefore, he s not a lukewarm pastor, only preaching what people would like to hear, he preaches what we need to hear, even if is hard to hear. No PC here, he teaches us true Gospel.
He also make us participate in each service, we write messages every Sunday because he makes us fill cards with the information/message his giving us that day. It is very scholarly, he s a teacher and I really love his preachings and lessons. Another thing is that, what he preaches, he does and now he s in sabbatical, and he was preaching about taking our time with God, Our of work, but just with God.
Something I ve never seen in a Christian church Last Sunday, we all pray in our knees, all the church in our knees...wow. This is amazing, I didn t see that before (except for catholic rituals and muslims).
Everybody in our knees, praying for our country, we also pray for our leaders, we pray for different events. It s just awesome we all do that in a regular Sunday service, everybody praying a common cause.
If you are searching for the Gospel, the Gospel of the Bible, this is the place. Members are so passionate in this church, and the children participate all the time, singing and sometimes in prayers, and you can see how much they love God.
I m so Happy and Bless I found this amazing and beautiful church and I m planning to become a member.

Josh Bolin, the church orchestra, and the amazing choir usher the congregation into the throne room of God every Sunday morning. The praise and worship is powerful and heartfelt every Sunday. Pastor Greg's messages help me to connect God's word to everyday life.

Love the worship service.. the message was on point from Matt 8:23-27...many different small groups to participate in...

I go to church every Sunday and Wednesday and even got baptized last weekend there. I have learned so much more about God and have built a stronger relationship with him and love the style and the music. I am apart of the middle and high school choir and going to be apart of celebration over Christmas. :)

Loving community of believers! They have a great welcoming team to help people get connected as they come in the door. We love this church.

This church is amazing!!! The pastor had an excellent sense of humor and a calming voice. I definitely will be going back to hear the Word of God from HFBC as often as possible. Thank you Pastor for an enlightening experience.

Welcoming body of believers that teaches Biblically.

I'm not a Baptist but we went there to have a birthday party at a place they rent out inside their Pavilion and that place was outstanding we had the place we had the party and a place where the kids can play and everything was indoor and the air conditioner was great it was probably a little pricey I'm sure I was in the person peeing but it was nice they are very strict with their time reservations they expect you to get out of the place when your time is up

Came on visit. Nice church. Good preach. Big. They have even a tiny library.

I found the people to be friendly, accepting, sincere, and intelligent. I really enjoy my experiences with this great group. The office hours can be odd but I always get a prompt phone call back if I leave a message. Really enjoy the openness and being able to go through life with these people.

Love the Pastor. It's just a great place to worship.

Although I have been a member at First for years now, the thing that initially drew me in was the warmth of the people and the unapologetic way that Pastor Gregg delivers the truth of the Bible...so refreshing! The early service at 9:15 is good for those looking for something more traditional or the 11am or evening services for a more contemporary vibe/music.

For newcomers, it is important to note that parking often gets packed, but there is a specific parking lot just for 1st-time visitors...and you can always follow the signs to the overflow parking at the parking garage just south of the church or at the Marq-ee, which had shuttle service to/from church.

Church Service is at 5 p.m. on Sunday and Bible study is at 6:30pm p.m. on Sunday every week.
