I had my rehearsal dinner here, and although the event turned out ok, the planning process was very stressful. Please make sure you re detail oriented, especially when it comes to the bill.
We booked the event space 1 year in advanced working with a different coordinator than who worked our event. Several details would get lost, my name was mispelled in emails, and I was even called by the wrong name. I expressed my concerns with the coordinator several times, but the lack of attention to detail did not seem to improve.
My greatest concerns came with the guests who had dietary allergies. Even after expressing these concerns several times, my mom and grandmother were given a dessert that they were allergic to. Thankful they both realized it, and did not eat it.
Even though the guest enjoyed the event and the food was good, the day of the event there were several missteps. There was a staff member parked in the handicap space that our grandparents needed to park in, the fire place was not lit like requested upon arrival, and my mother in law and I were responsible for paying attention to the time to escort guests from cocktail hour to dinner although the event manager was supposed to do this. My event manager even left before the event was over.
As mentioned above, please pay attention to the bill. Our initial statement was given for double our guest count. And according to my in law there were also problems with the bill even after the event.
Again, the guest themselves enjoyed everything (we got several compliments), the venue was beautiful, and the food was good. Just make sure you re ready to be on top of things and pay a close attention to all the details. I don t mind saying this online because all of this was expressed to my event manager and her manager throughout the planning process. But this event was more stressful to plan than my wedding itself.
