Next to Hampstead Heath and surrounded by relaxing landscaped gardens.. The beautiful restored interiors and stunning art collection, including a Rembrandt's and a rare Vermeer, all free to enjoy. Beautiful cafe and two small shops this is a lovely place to visit. I would recommend a long circular walk around the heath stopping at Kenwood for refreshments

Clean toilets and ticketed parking lot (although small)

Good place to take the dogs for a walk or for those like myself who don't have a dog but just like to watch the dogs playing.

Can get busy at weekends in good weather.

Didn't go in the house but avoid the overpriced understocked Steward's Room takeaway cafe. Very long queue, no savoury food available and coffee not very good. Such a shame in such beautiful surroundings. Other places manage to provide a better service now despite Covid restrictions. Disappointing. Toilets also closed for rebuilding but quite a few portable ones available at the approach of house front.

I didn t manage to go into the house on this occasion, but spent the afternoon walking around the beautiful gardens and popped into the gift shop (which is part of the main house). Lovely to go in Spring when all sorts of colourful flowers are in bloom. Great place to take kids or dogs (if you have either), there were a few picnic shops happening yesterday despite the rain.

The grounds are also part of Hampstead Heath and have set paths/sections for exploring. It can get quite muddy in places, so bring appropriate footwear. There s a car park on site by Kenwood House which charges, or you can park on the main road/side streets for free. Coffee shop and clean toilets also on site, as well as lots of benches scattered throughout in case you want to stop for a rest. A great way to spend the afternoon, especially if you enjoy photography. There s lots to see.

Great place to visit. Lovely volunteer staff who are very happy to tell you about the house, people & artwork. Beautiful decor and artwork on display. You can get very close to the pieces, no barriers alarms etc. We made a donation on the way out and hope many others do the same to preserve this gem which is free to visit.

As Kenwood House is currently closed, we could only visit the grounds. But a 4cm of snow cover gave a fairytale sheen to the shrubs and lawn.

Kids were having a great time toboganing down the gentle slopes, or building snow people .

So it's a good open space for healthy walks at present, and not crowded, with some parking spaces on the main road if you're patient.

But don't forget to wear waterproof boots!
