Stood at reception waiting for assistance whilst the guy was cashing up.
I was wearing shorts and t-shirt because it was hot. A guy walks into the building in a suit, gets served immediately.
Talk about judging a book by their cover....
The surrounding area is a bit of a dive and they had a massive clock out the back that was broken. I'd say go into town if you want something special.

To pay separately to get a bath robe and to go to the pool and use only the pool and sauna without the other facilities? Sounds like a desperate way of trying to make money
The rooms are fine but on one side you have the noise of the air conditioning motors and on the other side the train.
Stayed here for 4 nights , staff were lovely and very friendly and welcoming . Nice breakfast , and decent indoor pool . We didn t use spa facilities as they were not included . A bit on the pricey side , but a nice place . Only downside is it s not technically on the beach , you have to take a walk across and then get to the beach .
Incredible surprise find of luxury and class. Very accommodating and can't wait to return!

Very enjoyable conference in a nice hotel, plenty of restaurants nearby specialising in fish. What was an additional bonus was that the bar was reasonably priced too.
Located on the beach and with all the facilities a good place to stay for a conference
Nice hotel with an excellent wellness center. The room are clean and spacious even if not really modern. WiFi is free. Nice idea the free glass of Porto as welcome.
The hotel, grounds, bar and all other ammenities affiliated with the Hotel Solverde are wonderful with the exception of "Restaurante o Jardim".
The head server/restaurant manager (whatever he calls himself) was appalling. He steadily degraded his staff (whom were all on point the entire time and I for one would be greatful to have such employees) in a manner that caused the ambiance to became tense and abhorrent. All patrons seemed to take notice over the disgraceful actions tonight.
This primitive little man with no obvious training himself, single handedly extracted all joyous ambiance (needless to say should fill a restaurant) AND caused our experience cut short and tainted.
Because of him, and him alone, I do not recommend this establishment. Portugal's a big country with so much to offer other than this life deprived shanty, keep driving.

A 5-star spa hotel, by category, should have free access to the spa for its clients and not be paid.
The pool, very poble, low water temperature, has no jets. Disappointing.
The room, unheard of, without fridge.
This hotel does not deserve the 5 stars it boasts.
In Spain it would have a level of 3 stars.
The most direct access to the beach. At the very least, it is not pleasant to be woken up at 8 am by the gardeners who passed the mower without being informed otherwise the hotel is correct rather 4 * than 5 *. Very well organized during the pandemic.

4 good stars from me. The hotel is a 5 star hotel and you can expect something.
We were definitely not disappointed with the service. It was very good, everyone was very helpful, a page brought the suitcases to the room and otherwise it was very pleasant.
The rooms were spacious, even if the whole hotel looked a bit old-fashioned.
Parking spaces right in front of the door were great.
Breakfast was okay, but not a highlight.
The beach was definitely there, but you always have to go through the railway bridge and that's where we have the problem. Great room with a sea view and then the train runs in front of your nose every 10 minutes, that was stupid.
The pool was also good and the location is okay, but the car is definitely recommended. Lidl is directly opposite.

Good breakfast but I advise you to arrive early, from 10am there are already missing some food and the replacement is no longer the best, close to 10.30 already just asking serve, would be a point to be seen by the hotel.
Does not assign 5 stars for the reason of the breakfast and the spa, we have access to the pool, hammam and sauna but not the jacuzzi, would have to be paid separately !!!!
To summarize very good but could be better for a 5 star.
